In the middle of the night,a robbery had broken out four monster people had broken into a bank and stole all the money they could before anyone would try to show up to stop them

"Hehe,easy money!we just go to the sewers,take the planned route out of the city and we're millionaires!"shouted one of the goblin girls

However,just like all other criminals,their crime would be stopped as they heard someone above them

"You know when you make a plan you should consider not yelling it out in the middle of a quiet night where everyone can hear you"they turned around and were met with

"Spiderman!"they shouted

"Yeah yeah it's me, want an autograph?"he said as he then shot a web at the bags the robbers were carrying and threw them back in the bank

"What?!"the lizard wizard of the group was surprised before he hissed at spiderman,opening his grimoire and cast a spell of numerous fireballs which he dodged easily by jumping off the pole and kicking down the large orc before webbing the lizard's head and slamming it on the ground as he then webbed them to the ground

He turned around to see the goblins about to escape as he simply webbed their feet making them fall down

"Web it gud!"he joked as they tried to remove their restraints but they only got more entangled in them

"Don't bother and just sit there until the authorities show up mkay?"he said as he then swung himself to the nearby roof of a building as the authorities were approaching

"Relatively quiet tonight huh,boring but also a good thing"he said to himself

Suddenly he felt someone behind him as he turned around to be greeted by none other than melusine,one of the fairy knights

I got into a fighting stance ready to fight and escape if needed

"Don't worry,the queen didn't order me anything regarding you today"she said as she sat down on the ledge of the building

"Oh so it's my lucky day huh"i said as i went back to sit down

It was silence between the two of us,a pleasant one

"I'd come closer but you suit reeks of sewer water and other nasty things"she said

".....ouch"

Well this hurts

we usually just sat down doing nothing whenever the queen didn't order melusine to deal with the spider since apparently from what melusine told him, he's only a small critter that bugs her out from time to time

"I didn't see you for the majority of today"she said

"Yeah well you know how it is,spiderman needs to live up to the MAN part of his name and all"

"Well you certainly sound young so I'd expect you are still going to school"

"Yeah don't worry,in a few years you'll be able to see my sweet masked face all the time"I joked

"One day these jokes of yours will be your undoing...."

"Awww you care about m-"

"Because I will make sure the world will not suffer anymore from them"she continued

"Oh...."

She smiled a little bit as if holding herself from letting out a giggle

We had always kept a somewhat amical relationship,like mutual respect so whenever melusine isn't ordered to exterminate me, we'd simply sit by and enjoy the scenery which isn't exactly the same with the other two fairy knights

Barghest will try to arrest me whenever she can for reasons no one knows even if the queen doesn't order it

And boabhan sith.....is just boabhan sith, she's just sadistic like that

While I was deep in thoughts I then felt sudden danger which made me duck entirely to avoid a slash that would have decapitated me

Melusine had now her blade pointed at me ready to skewer me

"Order came in huh?"I asked her

"Yes"she said before going for another swing as I threw webs at her face and then others at the end of the building to propel myself out of there,she removed my webs from her face to see that I was already swinging away from her

"Now comes the difficult part"I said as suddenly my web was cut,it only took her a few seconds to catch up to me as she had made a full stop to punch me down but I quickly moved my body around and thanks to the flexibility of my body was able to dodge it as I then threw her away before swinging to the roof of a building using that speed to launch myself  off of it before i was punched down in my back by melusine as i landed on the roof again

She then pulled out the blade out of her gauntlet as she attempted to slice me up,but I quickly managed to pick myself back up and roll around although I still got cut on my side

"Oh come on!not the suit!"I complained

"Maybe try to not go out fighting crime in your sportswear"she said as she then quickly punched me again out of the buildings roof on the side of my ribs which caused me to land on the concrete floor

"Ouch,that hurts,time out?"he asked as he turned around to see melusine with her two blades out as she joined them together and was already headed it towards me with increasing speed

As she was getting closer I put my hands up right below the blades and with her hands to try and stop her which caused her to only slow down

"H-hey can't we decide this with a coin toss?"I asked struggling to hold her back

"We already did that until I found out you were tricking me by rigging it"she said

"Fair enough!"I said as she kept increasing her speed

I need to find a way out of this or I'll be spider shishkebab!

She continued to get closer and closer as I felt her blade barely entering my neck

this can't end like this!!!

I need to find something!!!

Suddenly I felt a sudden jolt go through my body as the next thing I knew everything turned orange and ...

A giant electric explosion erupted from within me which sent melusine flying into a building

What the hell did I just do?!

'wait this is my chance to get away now!'i thought to myself as I stumbled while I was going to run as I still felt tired from whatever I caused

"Man whatever this was is exhausting"I said to myself before quickly picking myself back up again and swinging away

MEANWHILE

Melusine was under a pile of rubble's as she got up slowly as she felt her limbs were really stiff to the point she could hardly move them

"......He has electricity now?"

BACK TO SPIDERMAN

I was swinging as fast as i could away from the scene of the fight and back to neighborhood i lived in

It was now 11:30 so most people were asleep

I reached the roof of my house and began to crawl along the walls up until I reached the window of my room and opened it, fortunately inever locked until I came back from my patrols

I stepped in his room and removed my mask as I began to breathe heavily from exhaustion as well as stress

"What was that?"i said as I looked at my hands to see them producing little sparks as I then saw my suit,the electric sparks really did it in

Many spots were now completely black and crisp from the electricity produces

"Sheesh,she was right it reeks"I said as I started talking it off first with the top

'the suit is basically unusable at this point'i thought to myself as I started to think of alternatives

"I don't know what Mr parker has in store but  I feel it has something to do with the suit"I said to myself as I then heard the voice of my mom madoka through the door

"Edel is that you?"she said as she was opening the door which prompted me to quickly grab a towel right near me and cover the bottom part of my costume as well as my wound before she entered my room seeing me with nothing but a towel on

"Uuuh hi mom"I greeted her

"Oh my,edel...."

Please don't be what I think it is she is going to say

"Edel have you been going to the gym to work out?"

"What?"I asked confused

"Look at your body!you look stunning!almost like an athlete!"she said

"Oh that,huh yeah you can say it is yeah",

"Is that why you've been coming home late these last few months?"she asked me

"Y-ye yeah! exactly! especially since I don't have time during the day"I lied

"You didn't have to hide it from me you know?"she told me

"Yeah I'm sorry about that mom"I apologized to her as she hugged me

"It's okay,mom forgives you"she said as it managed to reassure me and soothe me due to her warm embrace and her perfume which smelled like a garden of flowers in spring season

"Thanks"

She then let go of me

"You go take a shower for now and I'll go fix you up a quick dinner"she told me as I smiled while she walked away

"Mom?"

She turned around

"Thank you"I thanked her as she smiled and left downstairs

As she did I could only look down in sadness at my torn up mask which I hid under my bed

I didn't want to hide this from them,if anything I wanted to just vent it all to them,the constant fights against the fairy knights,fighting the villains while making sure no one dies

But I knew it would do nothing but worry them and I didn't want that,them worrying about where I could be when I'm a little late is much better than them worrying about me fighting some lethal girl that can dice you up to tiny pieces in one second

So it's the best solution for the foreseeable future

However if I could preserve that smile,then it's all worth it no matter how many punches I need to endure

And so with that thought I went to take a shower,eat my dinner and went to sleep

THE NEXT DAY

I was currently leaving the school to meet up with Mr parker in the location he told me about as I then saw him near a building waiting for me

"Hi!"I greeted him

"Oh hey there edel,how was school today?"he asked me

"It was alright had some peace today"I said

"Great to hear,anyways, ready to see your present?"he asked me as I nodded excitedly and we both entered the building as we proceeded through the floors until we reached the last one

He then held up the keys towards me

"Want to do the honors?"he asked me

"You bet!"I said as I took them and unlocked the door and opened it as I walked in

Everything was dark

"Let me just..."Mr parker then turned the lights on

As he did I was completely stunned by what I was seeing

It was a laboratory

One that looked to be abandoned but the equipment was all in top condition

I looked around In total surprise with a dumb grin on my face and looked back at Mr peter

"For real?!"

"Yup,this place is all yours,your own spidey base"he said

"B-but how?!"I asked

The smile on his face slowly turned to a sad one

"Let's just say this place holds many memories for me,some of which I'm trying to make peace with"he said

But his face quickly returned back to a joyful one

"But hey!good news,this place used to be a laboratory for prosthetics, thus it has the materials to make your new suits, nothing too extravagant but still something to look good and protect yourself with!since last one is out of commission"he said

"This is awesome!

Thank you!"I shouted joyfully as I ran and hugged him tightly

"Hehe, don't mention it, it's the least I can do for the hero of our city and with all the help you're providing for FEAST"he said returning the hug

After that I kept looking at all of the equipments in the lab that can be used for suit making as well as perhaps even gadgets

"Anyways, I'll leave you to it to get used to this place,the keys are yours and you can do whatever you want with the place"

"Thank you so much again!"I said as he left

I then began to calm myself down as I looked at the laboratory that was now under my guard

"Spidey base eh,could use some work"
