[Tyler's p.o.v]

Child Abuse/ Homophobic mentioning.

"Mom.. its not what it looks l-"

I whipped around, pulling away from Josh.

"Zack?"

"Tyler.."

I sighed. I knew he would tell mother.

"Who is that? You know mom is... not supportive against that" Zack said, frowning.

"It's Josh," I frowned.

"Dun?"

I saw Josh move out from behind me.

"You still remember me Zack?" The scarlet boy questioned.

"Of course. You two were the best of friends. Tyler never shut up about you,"

I could feel my face heat up.

"I won't tell mom, just because it's Josh" Zack finalized.

I smiled widely and ran over to him, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you.."

"Your welcome. Just don't get caught, I'd hate to see Josh leave again," Zack smiled.

I nodded softly and walked back over to Josh as Zack left the room.

"Zack!" I heard my mother scream.

About 7 minutes passed by before Zack came bursting through the door.

A tear ran down his cheek.

"I'm sorry Tyler,"

"You told her?!" I whisper-yelled.

"No, she over heard us.."

I bit my lip hard, feeling bad for Zack.

"Tyler Robert Joseph!!" I heard my mother scream.

"Im sorry.." Zack whispered before rushing out to his room.

"Josh, hide in my closet please.."

He only nodded and rushed over as we both heard Kelly stomp up the stairs.

The only thing I worried about was her scaring away Josh.

Josh hid in the closet. My closet was the kind of closet that kind of looked like shudders, and if your inside, you can see the room, but if your outside, you can't see in, which was good in this case. My mother busted through the door with anger raging on her face.

"I over heard you talking about Josh Dun,"

"Huh?"

"Don't play stupid with me!" She said and slapped me. Hard.

Tears brimmed my eyes as the pain stung my cheek.

"Where is he?"

"He left."

"How?"

"Out the window,"

She gritted her teeth.

"Why can't he be my friend?"

"Tyler, As kids you didn't want to be friends,"

"Mom, we were 5.. do you really think we knew what we were doing?"

"Tyler, I know your gay."

"Then kick me out."

"No because you'll go live with him,"

I shook my head.

"Get out."

"What did you say to me Joseph?" She asked, obviously trying to keep calm.

"GET. OUT."

She slapped me again.

"Who do you think your talking to?!"

"Your not my mother. Get out."

"I am to your mother,"

"A mother wouldn't be a stuck up homophobic bitch!" I snapped.

She slapped me again, even harder.

"You better watch your mouth Tyler.." She said and left.

As soon as the door slammed, I instantly fell to the ground and cried.

Josh came out of the closet, which scarred me because I forgot he was in there.

[Josh's p.o.v]

I winced at the hard slap that echoed the room.

"You better watch your mouth Tyler.." Is all I heard and a door slam.

Kelly had gotten abusive with Tyler.

I heard him fall to the floor and start to cry. I decided it was safe and walked out of the closet and over to him.

I picked him up and walked over to the bed with him and sat down. 

He moved and rearranged himself. He had sat on my lap, facing me and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tightly as he cried and let out muffled sobs into my chest. I was a bit flustered at the position he was in, but I didn't care. The poor boy had a red hand mark printed to his face and was crying.

I tried to comfort him as I truly felt bad. He didn't deserve this.

He calmed down a little bit and lifted his head from my chest. I brought my hand to his chin and moved his head away from me to look at the red mark.

I frowned deeply and pressed soft kissed to his cheek were the red mark remained.

He seemed to relax under that.

"I-im s-s-sorry you h-had to-to watch t-that.." He whispered

"It's okay.. just. shh" I shushed him and rubbed his back. He was obviously still really upset over it because he stuttered out most of the sentence.

I swayed slightly, rubbing his back as he sobbed quietly. I rested my chin atop his head into his fluffy, soft brunette hair. Every once in awhile, I would move my chin from atop his head to kiss his cheek softly.

"I need something.."  He whispered as more tears fell from his eyes.
