2. first fight
One thing I want to clear about this story and this chap Especially, is that it will be have cursing and foul language.
Since our Arthit here is mature for his age, seen murkiness of the world enough as a refugee child and our Kong is an old soul to balance him out.
So their dialogues may not seem child like or age appropriate.
But That's how I have imagined them.
And that's how the story will progress.
And it's an omegaverse so their sexual maturity is also different.
Let's begin then.
Arthit 11. Kongpob 12.5 almost 13.
💞💞
" I am not talking to you. Why are you here? Go back to your non replying, no communication days. Why don't you? You were happy without talking to me. Not once you bothered to call me in seven fucking days..You..you uncaring moron. You Self centred brute. Just. Go. Away."
Another bemused alpha boy called Pasat Rachida watches the unimaginable scene unfolding between next in line heir Kongpob Suthilack, who is visibly squirming and a mere nobody omega boy, Arthit Rojanapat, who is definitely fuming. And cursing the pack heir in colourful languages!
What audacity!
Pasat's eyes go big and roll so hard that it may have just fallen back into his sockets detaching from the optical ligaments. His friends at the small canteen table they are sharing ; are also watching the scene with equal balance of mocking smile on their faces and horror at the language used by the clearly frustrated and angry Omega..
"Trouble in Paradise."
One of them declares smugly. A Beta Shen. Sipping his coffee.. as the others snicker audibly, loving the sudden unfolding drama.
They feel some kind of elation seeing the so called best friends fighting. And the alpha getting flustered and increasingly irritated on getting cold shoulder, rude words and scornful eyes from a lowly omega, in a public and crowded space. Their own school canteen teeming with students of various classes and sections.
" Kongpob is going to snap in a few minutes and then what happens afterwards, that will be the real fun to watch. And I will be eager and happy to be his yes man then. And obviously will be there to fuel the fire already ignited."
Pasat gleefully commented. As his other friends gives him a knowing encouraging look. Shen even going as far as to give him a fist bump.
They are Kongpob Suthilack's classmate since primary level and had tried quite hard to get into the good books of the heir alpha; who is well on his way to become the next pack leader. And with the way his aura is shaping day by day, he is definitely a high alpha himself. The precious Sutthilak genes shining through in all its brilliance.
But Kongpob has never ever spared Pasat's group even a parting glance. Though they all belong to the so called high class clan ranks.
Kongpob sutthilak has two friends, Wad and Em. And hangs out with those of his core group only..
Both of them, high betas from their pack; both of their parents belonging to a high diplomatic positions, not unlike the group of Pasat and Shen. All of them infact are from the same school section and social ranks.
But the trio of Kong, Wad and Em always have been, the ideal students with impeccable conduct and academic records. The three remains quite close knit and extremely private.
And then there is this omega they are watching now. Arthit Rojanapat.
The alpha's so called best friend. One class junior to them. A mere nomad boy, not even belonging to anywhere. No nationality, no clan to his name. But the alpha's closest, surprising and to the annoyance of multiple of their school mates and also to the elder clan members. Pasat's and Shen's parents included.
Many of them openly had vented and had showed their disdain when high alpha Suthilack, Kong's dad, gave in to the request of Jack Rojanapat, Arthit's father, and allowed the young omega boy, to attend this prestigious Sutthilak pack school.
The high alpha even appointed the refugee wolf Jack Rojanapat as his chief architect for the clan houses and new real estate developments he was planning .
Definitely Jack had good credentials to back him up. But giving him such a well paying position even though the nomad wolf and his small family refused to belong to the clan officially, was looked down upon by many.
And was protested against, quite vehemently too amidst the next high clan meeting .
Their tainted logics and conservative reasoning but not heeded by the high alpha Sutthilak ; who stuck to his earlier decision. Jack Rojanapat, he stated, the nomad had suffered enough and deserved a fair chance. That was the pack leader's absolute verdict amidst the multitude voices of opposition.
And surely, all the unnecessary din died down in a year as Jack headed one successful project after another.
The bridges and the houses he built were epitome of architectural design and engineering. Showing off his brilliant skills in the department he was made the boss by the high alpha.
Similarly the new omega boy showed his shine. He was brilliant in academics and a force to reckon with. With or without Kongpob.
He even intitially, regularly beat up betas and lone bully alphas, double his size to pulp before Kong could even arrive at the scene. Though there was another side to this inherent firecracker personality of his.
Which forced eveyone of the teachers, even the reluctant ones, to take notice of him.
Arthit Rojanapat was extremely kind, sincere, generous and hardworking.
When his mother passed away during childbirth, in their second year of living with the Sutthilak clan, Kong and him became almost inseparable.
The elder alpha boy always willing to be there beside him, through his worst days. Was there throughout the initial darkest period of the heartbreaking grief and the unimaginable loss. The tragic incident cemented their friendship in a all new light for even the most cynical of souls.
Well the omega boy, Pasat and his group has to agree is but gorgeous and deserve admiration . Not only a treat to their lusty eyes, they couldn't argue observing the omega through years, how beautiful inside out the younger actually is.
Nobody could have unseen, how Arthit had been there for his dad, grandmom through the turmoil the sudden loss of his mom brought about. Kongpob being a constant by his side. Their bond of friendship getting stronger and unshakeable through the life's unexpected storm.
But is today the day, their unfailing bond of unlikely friendship will be jeopardised?
Seems so, seeing the way the alpha is clenching his fist. And gnashing his teeth. Understanding, how many of the students in the canteen are watching them and snickering at the alpha's humiliation at the hands of a mere omega. His ego is justifiably hurt!
He is the heir after all, he definitely cannot be treated like this. Never. Best friends or not. An underlying decorum has to be maintained. Which the omega in his anger had conveniently forgotten.
Shen has been hankering for the attention of Arthit for long. But couldn't do anything till now. Because the omega clearly belonged to the heir alpha. And he,like many others of clan and school are sure, by the first heat and rut whichever hits first, the platonic facade of friendship will just melt away.
Looking at the unfolding scene Shen can't help but feel more and more excited that may be they don't have to wait for so long. Neither for the heat nor rut, to dissolve this abomination named friendship..
" Arthit Rojanapat you are ignoring me for three days! And now you are even calling me names! How dare you curse! You are so crossing your line, you little petty omega. And listen and listen well, You don't command me to go away neither can treat me like this. Your behaviour is unacceptable. Think before you speak again. Maintain your decorum mister!"
Kongpob's shout and anger loaded words resonates, in the sudden silent shrouded canteen. They can clearly see how much the alpha is trying to calm his aura to not suffocate the stubborn omega.
" What did you say!? Petty little omega..you..you jerk! YOU think before you speak. I will not. Go shove your decorum where the sun don't shine!"
Kongpob and others present audibly gasps at his rude words.
Arthit but gets up. Packs his books sprawled on the table. There are many since he does his home-works during any and every break time. As in the evenings he has to help with the household chores and take care of his failing health grand mom. His lonely father can only do so much. Giving a parting golden eyed glare at the alpha, he starts to march off.
" Hey Omega Rojanapat, listen carefully, if you leave I am not going to speak to you ever again. Neither will take back your lowly ass! I will just consider you gone from my life! "
The alpha shouts out in sheer frustation. His tanned face hot, eyes ruby red Shining dangerously.
" Do Whatever rocks your boat alpha Sutthilak. I am just a petty lowly omega afterall."
And the fuming younger storms off. This time not bothering to even give a departing glance to the another angry figure standing like a statue by his vacated table.
Eyes closed tightly, concentration completely on not letting his rage override his logic and rationality, at his best friends stubborn words and insolent actions ; that too in front of so many people. Who are openly ogling and enjoying their heated word exchanges, their first serious fight.
The alpha also walks off a few tensed moments later in the opposite direction. Pasat gets up to follow him immediately as Shen jubilantly moves towards the direction the omega had disappeared into. The canteen breaks out in an excited chatter following the two's departure.
" So this farce of best friendship it's over between them right?"
One of the random students quips which is answered with many affirmatives and some negatives too.
And expectedly, the gossip rages on..until Wad and Em arrive at the canteen and hmm.. well the gossip dies down, the chitchatting ceases with the duos threatening timely intervention but it carries on nonetheless in secret. It's about two most unlikely wolves friendship break after all.
But five days later a shock awaits everyone.
Pleasant for some, unpleasant for many others..
Shen and Pasat watches silently, like everyone else with bated breath at the unfolding scene.
Pasat not daring to approach the table or make eye contact with Kongpob. The grim faces of Em and Wad and their voices of ultimatum telling him explicitly to not meddle upon or try to snoop into Kongpob's personal problems ringing in his ears, succeeding to keep his intrusive nature in check.
And Shen sports a black eye, courtesy Arthit's famous handiwork.
Thus they both can only sneak careful glances as the two best friends do their respective homeworks, at their favourite canteen table. Which was lying vacant for four whole days.
One of them, the alpha, taking occasional sips and mouthfuls respectively, of his bitter sugarless Americano and flavoured rice from his lunch box prepared specially by the pack luna for him and his bestie.
The omega, on the other hand busy in writing and taking absent-minded sips of his extra sweet bubble tea.
They share a serene, soothing companionable silence. Broken occasionally by Arthit asking doubts from Kong for maths or English . Kong stoically reminding him to eat in between, before his food gets cold.
Later, even feeding him when the younger doesn't respond remaining immersed within their academic works. It's definitely a scene to behold but nobody dares to utter a single word.
So what actually transpired between them?
Other than these two pig headed beings in question, Em and Wad can give the answer. They are equally flabbergasted by this fight and makeup. If someone dare to ask them and they do tattle tale, this is what they would have answered.
First day of their public meltdown, Kongpob spent in egoistic rage and swearing repeatedly never to ever befriend the younger again, even if he begs for forgiveness. Or kisses his feet.
Em and Wad the silent spectator of his extreme tantrum filled irritable mood. They both had decided to stoically bear the brunt of the about to turn teen age heir's temper.
Knowing and understanding clearly, for the moment Kong was beyond sane reasoning. Or actually ready to listen to his own faults. They thus let him seethe. And throw around his weight.
Though by fourth day, the ego rage of the alpha, had fuelled to a brand new high, simultaneously testing equally extreme heights of Em and Wad's patience.
With no sign of any sorry messages from the younger for ignoring the alpha heir for these many days at school now, and also before their altercation ; or any show of remorse from the younger's side for the spoken curse words or elder's humiliation at the canteen.
Instead the omega had kept on evading and expertly avoiding him, both pretending they are stranger to each other if bumping accidentally or meeting at school corridors suddenly. Those so called accidents mostly were failed attempts of reconciliation from Em and Wad, who could only bump their own heads upon the hard walls.
The alpha can be unarguably compared to a volcano before eruption. He was this close to spontaneously combust. A lot actually happened three days before when all this fiasco started, to make him behave this way.
Well, long story short, the alpha had come back from clan training work under the able guidance of his dad. The seven most demanding days of his about to turn 'teen with responsibility' life.
And when he did come back what did he get in return? Rather than cajoling and a sympathetic hearing ear from his bestie for the grueling ordeal he suffered, he got cold shoulder, rejection and then a very public heated word exchanged fight!
Wad and Em had silently watched again through the school day and beyond, as the heir alpha Kongpob kept of huffing, puffing and howling at the unfairness of it all. Till late afternoon of the fourth day of their eventful fight.
Until Wad has had enough and couldn't take it anymore and just turned Kongpob towards the moon calendar and pointed out the date. And then stealthily left the room.
What followed was an immense wave of guilt over the alpha's soul registering the month and the passed dates. How could he even forget those two days and not call the younger even once?
The repenting alpha was thus found on the fourth day early evening, after school..on the steps of the wooden bridge where their friendship first bloomed.
He had been avoiding that place specifically, knowing the younger irrevocably comes at that site before sunset.
That's their spot. Since they were five and six year olds.
May it Rain or hail, coldest or warmest day, the omega and Alpha will be seen sitting there. Enjoying the peace and quiet of the surrounding atmosphere and each other's company, before one is overridden by demanding housework. And the other immersed within learning the ropes of becoming the future pack head.
That day, he had found the Omega sitting forlorn on their step. Their spot. His head cradled between his two folded arms. Bowed, dejected. And the alpha's heart had clenched at the sight.
" I am so sorry Oon. "
He had sat hunched facing the younger. His tanned arms slightly tremoring while touching the pale elbow. Fearing a retribution. Mostly it's his guilt.
The doe eyes had looked up from their cast down position. Resigned, dejected they meet the guilt ridden onyx ones. Pearl like drops shimmering in their pretty corners, spread slowly then fall down, finding the alpha's deep set onyxes, tear stained too.
" It's ok Phi. I didn't consider your position in the clan and created a bad scene at the canteen. I am at fault too. I simply forgot, you are Just not my best friend. You are an alpha, a heir. You have an image to upkeep. And i promise from now on I will never cross that line. I will never curse at you again... I will never.."
Kongpob puts his index finger on the down turned, sad pink lips. Making the younger's eyes go wide in surprise.
"Shh.. I always make you cry at this spot unnecessarily nong. Oon, you have to never consider my position, rank and whatever shit to talk to me or to be with me. It was my stupid ego who spouted those nonsenses and threw such a childish tantrum. Where as it was I, I alone who is to blame for our .."
Kongpob hugs the younger suddenly, not able to even finish the word fight or their break up as best friends. It was one of the most painful experience for him, these past few days without his bestie by his side.
He was even physically hurting, not to mention the mental turmoil.
He had fought with Wad and Em before. And obviously had minor tussles with Oon too. But this time..it was like he was constantly on a roller coaster ride of hot and cold emotions.
And now the same pang, the restlessness he felt in his heart continued to grow as the younger just kept on softly sobbing in his arms. Not saying a word.
Would the younger not forgive him? He had been a douche the alpha agrees upon that fact, wholeheartedly. He not only forgot the younger's birthday, he even forgot to give him a simple call on the saddest day for the omega every year.
Two days after Arthit's 6th birthday he had lost his mom. And Kong, caught up in his hectic schedules of crazy combat training and clan politics and n number of boring shitty things; not only skipped the all important fact from his memory but also behaved like an entitled brat upon return.
Even brought up his heir alpha status, their rank difference between their fight. He had every reason to be afraid.
" Oon..forgive your jerk uncaring phi ...pls. and pls Don't cry. Oon..pls.. speak something, anything. You are scaring me."
Kong tries to look at the sobbing face , pulling away from the hug but the pale arms this time had held him closer. The chubby cheeks buried near his thumping chest in trepidation. The words spoken next by the omega, vibrates his core. Resonating within his soul.
" Hold me tighter phi. Don't let me go. You are my only friend phi Kong. I know I am an omega. You are the next in line alpha. We don't gel. We don't match. We are not meant to be tagged just friends.
But my heart, says otherwise. It feels safest with you,the most empowered with you. The strongest with you. You are the best phi. Never say it's over between us phi Kong.. promise me we will have an open communication from now on. I promise no more silence, or ignoring. And you promise never holding our ranks over each other's head in a fight."
The younger had disentangled himself from the hug raising up his pinky finger.
" Promise?"
The elder couldn't resist pulling those tear trickled chubby cheeks as he entangled his own digit with the younger's, uttering softly.
" Promise."
The sun had set for the day when they had finished their making up for the days lost in fight session. Arthit's name sake must had laughed too seeing the silly drama enacted between the duo.
Especially as they sat side by side, basking in the warmth of the last orange rays of the setting solice, laughing joking pulling each other's legs, ..their pinky fingers though still remaining curled up against each other.
Sealing a promise of companionship and trust. Witnessed by the overflowing lush nature around.
But will it be enough to dodge the curve balls of fate coming soon their way?
The heat and the rut?
