Taehyung pov:
As I felt Jin Ah's grip tighten on my wrist, I turned to face her, seeing the fear in her eyes. Her quiet plea, "Please don't leave," echoed in my mind, stirring something deep within me.
"I'll be back soon," I said softly, trying to offer her the comfort she desperately needed. "Just stay hidden and keep Niki safe."
I gently pried her hand from my wrist, giving it a reassuring squeeze before letting go. Stepping towards the door, I glanced back at them one last time. The sight of Jin Ah and Niki huddled together, trying to stay strong, fuelled my resolve.
Moving into the hallway, I let the shadows envelop me. My senses were heightened, every creak and whisper magnified in the silence. I knew I had to protect them at all costs. This wasn't just about me anymore. It was about keeping them safe, no matter the danger that lay ahead.
With each step, my determination grew stronger. I would confront whatever threat awaited, and I would return to them. This was my promise to Jin Ah and Niki.
In the dimly lit hallway of my own house, tension hung heavy in the air like a suffocating blanket. My hand clenched tightly around the cold steel of the gun, its weight a stark reminder of the danger lurking just beyond the shadows.
This was my domain, my sanctuary, now invaded by unwanted guests.Jin Ah and Niki were safe, hidden away from the impending confrontation. They trusted me to protect them, and I would not fail them. But as I prepared to face the threat head-on, a surge of adrenaline coursed through my veins, heightening my senses and sharpening my focus.
The voices ahead grew louder, their hushed tones a menacing whisper in the darkness. I steeled myself for what was to come, knowing that the outcome of this confrontation could change everything. With a deep breath, I stepped into the larger room, my gaze locking onto the figures gathered within.
At the center stood Kwon Jae, his smug expression betraying his confidence. He thought he could challenge me on my own turf, but he would soon learn the error of his ways.
"Taehyung," he greeted mockingly, his voice dripping with disdain. "What a pleasant surprise."I met his gaze with a cold stare, refusing to show any sign of weakness.
"You've made a fatal error, Jae," I replied, my voice steady and resolute. "This is my territory. And you’re trespassing."Jae chuckled, the sound grating on my nerves.
"Your territory, yes. But for how long?" he taunted, his eyes flicking to his men, silently issuing orders. His arrogance fueled my determination. "I saw the girl and the boy with you," he continued, a sly grin spreading across his face.
"Where are they? Seems like I've found your weakness."A smirk tugged at the corner of my lips. "You think you've found my weakness?" I retorted, my voice dripping with disdain.
"You have no idea what you're dealing with."Jae's smirk faltered for a moment, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his features. But he quickly regained his composure, his gaze hardening.
"We'll see about that," he declared, trying to sound confident. "Hand them over, Taehyung. Make this easy."I stepped closer, the tension crackling between us. "You don’t get to make demands in my house, Jae," I said, my voice icy with resolve.
"You think you can waltz in here and threaten me? You’re a fool."His eyes narrowed, his bravado slipping. "You’re outnumbered," he hissed, desperation creeping into his tone. "Do you really think you can take us all on?"I shrugged, the movement casual, almost dismissive.
"I don't need to take you all on," I replied, a dangerous glint in my eyes. "I just need to deal with you."Jae's confidence wavered, his gaze darting nervously between his men and me.
"You’re bluffing," he insisted, though his voice lacked conviction."Try me," I challenged, my tone deadly serious. "You have no idea what I’m capable of. And if you think threatening innocent lives will make me fold, you’re sorely mistaken."The room fell silent, the tension thickening with each passing second.
Jae's men shifted uneasily, sensing the impending clash. But before either of us could make a move, the door burst open, and my own men stormed in, evening the odds.Caught off guard by their sudden entrance, Jae's expression shifted from arrogance to panic. In a desperate bid to regain control, he reached for his gun, his movements swift and calculated. Before I could react, a searing pain exploded in my right hand as Jae's shot found its mark.
The force of the impact sent shockwaves of agony through my arm, and I stumbled back, clutching the wounded appendage.A collective gasp rippled through the room as my men watched in horror, their shock and disbelief evident in their wide eyes. The room fell into stunned silence as the gravity of the situation sunk in.
Gritting my teeth against the agony, I stumbled back, instinctively clutching the wounded hand to my chest. With trembling fingers, I tore a piece of cloth and hastily wrapped it around the wound, trying to stem the bleeding.
Despite the pain coursing through my body, I forced myself to push forward, to reach Jin Ah and Niki who were waiting for me. Their shocked expressions mirrored my own as I entered the room, their eyes widening in horror at the sight of me.
"W-what happened to you?" Jin Ah stammered, her voice trembling with concern.
I managed a weak smile, trying to reassure her despite the pain. "I'm fine," I replied, my voice strained. "It's just a small injury."
Jin Ah stood frozen, her eyes wide with shock and disbelief. Her silence spoke volumes, her worry evident in the way she stared at me, unable to comprehend the sight before her.
As I felt consciousness slipping away, I managed to muster the strength to utter one last question to Jin Ah, despite the overwhelming pain and the encroaching darkness.
"Are you worried about me?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper, the words escaping from between gritted teeth.
Jin Ah's eyes widened in shock, her expression frozen in disbelief. She stood before me, silent and immobile, her lips parted as if she wanted to say something, but no words came forth.
Her silence spoke volumes, louder than any words could convey. In the depths of her widened eyes, I saw the flicker of concern, the fear of losing me evident in the depths of her gaze.
But she remained silent, unable to voice her worries, her emotions too raw, too overwhelming to articulate.
A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips, despite the pain and the darkness threatening to consume me. Even in my weakened state, I found solace in the silent exchange between us, in the unspoken understanding that bound us together.
With that final thought, I succumbed to unconsciousness, the world fading into nothingness as darkness claimed me.
---
As I gradually emerged from the haze of unconsciousness, the sterile scent of the hospital assaulted my senses, and the soft hum of medical equipment filled the room. Blinking against the harsh fluorescent lights, I struggled to orient myself, my mind still clouded by the remnants of anesthesia.
Beside me, Jin Ah sat in an uncomfortable-looking chair, her hands clasped tightly around mine. Her posture was rigid, her expression unreadable as she stared down at me, her features softened by the dim light.
A surge of conflicting emotions washed over me as I took in her presence. Despite her apparent disdain, I couldn't shake the overwhelming desire I felt for her, the inexplicable pull that drew me to her like a moth to a flame.
As I tried to shift in the bed, the movement caused Jin Ah to stir. Her eyes fluttered open, and she regarded me with a mixture of surprise and apprehension.
"T-Taehyung," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're awake."
I offered her a weak smile, though my heart hammered in my chest at the sight of her. "Jin Ah," I replied, my voice rough from disuse. "I... I didn't expect to see you here."
Her gaze hardened, a flicker of resentment flashing in her eyes. "I'm only here because... because I had to be," she muttered, her words laced with bitterness.
Trying to lighten the mood, I couldn't resist teasing her despite the circumstances. "Ah, so you couldn't bear to be away from me," I joked, a mischievous glint in my eyes.
Jin Ah rolled her eyes, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips despite her attempts to remain serious. "Don't flatter yourself" she retorted, her tone playful.
I chuckled softly, grateful for the brief moment of levity in an otherwise tense situation. "I knew you couldn't resist me," I teased, winking at her.
Jin Ah scoffed, though the twinkle in her eyes betrayed her amusement. "In your dreams, maybe," she shot back, unable to suppress a giggle.
As the playful banter between us continued, I couldn't resist pushing Jin Ah's buttons a little more, knowing that it would only add to the fun. "Come on, Jin Ah, admit it," I teased, a mischievous glint in my eyes. "You can't resist my charming personality."
Jin Ah rolled her eyes, a small smirk playing on her lips. "Please, Taehyung," she replied, her tone tinged with amusement. "Your ego is big enough as it is."
I chuckled, feeling a surge of exhilaration at our playful exchange. "Oh, come on," I persisted, reaching out to gently tug on her wrist. "You know you love it."
But before Jin Ah could respond, I felt her pull away, a fleeting look of surprise crossing her features as she stood up from the chair. "That's enough, Taehyung," she said firmly, her tone tinged with mock annoyance. "I have better things to do than listen to your nonsense."
Before I could react, she turned to leave the room, her movements swift and purposeful. But in a split second decision, fueled by a rush of adrenaline and the undeniable urge to be close to her, I reached out and caught her wrist, pulling her back towards me.
Jin Ah stumbled, her eyes widening in shock as she fell into my lap, her body pressed against mine. For a moment, we were frozen in place, the air charged with tension as we stared at each other, our hearts racing in unison.
And then, without warning, something shifted within me. The playful facade fell away, replaced by a surge of possessiveness and longing that consumed me entirely. In that moment, all I could think about was Jin Ah, her warmth against my chest, her scent filling my senses, her presence overwhelming me in the best possible way.
"Jin Ah," I murmured, my voice husky with desire. "Don't leave."
She looked up at me, her eyes wide with surprise, her breath caught in her throat. And in that moment, I knew that she felt it too, the undeniable pull between us, the electric connection that bound us together in ways neither of us could fully understand.
"Taehyung, what are you doing?" she exclaimed, her voice a mixture of shock and indignation.
Ignoring her protests, I wrapped my arms around her waist, holding her firmly in place. "Just stay like this for a moment," I murmured, my voice low and intense, my heart pounding in my chest.
Jin Ah tensed in my embrace, clearly uncomfortable with the sudden closeness. "Let go of me" she insisted, her tone firm.
But I couldn't bring myself to comply. Instead, I leaned in closer, my breath ghosting over her ear as I whispered, "Just a little longer."
As Jin Ah attempted to push away from me once more, I let out a low hiss, faking discomfort. "Ouch," I muttered, pretending to be in pain. "You're hurting me, Jin Ah."
She froze, her eyes widening in surprise at my sudden change in demeanor. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered, her hands hovering uncertainly over my arms. "I didn't mean to..."
I couldn't help but smirk at her reaction, reveling in the power I held over her in this moment. "It's okay," I said, my voice dripping with faux sincerity. "Just... stay like this for a little while longer, okay?"
Jin Ah hesitated, clearly torn between her desire to escape and her concern for my well-being. Eventually, she relented, settling back against me with a resigned sigh.
As we sat in silence, the tension between us palpable, I couldn't help but feel a surge of triumph. In this moment, with Jin Ah in my arms, I felt invincible, unstoppable, and utterly consumed by my obsession for her.
And as I held her close, I vowed to savor every second of this forbidden closeness, knowing that no matter what obstacles stood in our way, I would always fight for our love.
But then Niki burst into the hospital room, his eyes widened dramatically, and he gasped theatrically. "Oh my stars, what in the world is happening here?" he exclaimed, his voice echoing through the room.
Jin Ah's cheeks flushed crimson at Niki's sudden entrance, and she stumbled over her words as she tried to explain. "N-Niki, it's not what you think," she stammered, her hands waving frantically in the air.
I couldn't help but chuckle at Jin Ah's flustered response, finding the situation amusing despite the circumstances. "Relax, Niki," I said with a grin. "We were just discussing our honeymoon plans."
Niki's eyes widened in surprise, and he glanced between Jin Ah and me with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. "Honeymoon plans?" he repeated, his voice tinged with disbelief.
Jin Ah shot me a warning glare, clearly unimpressed by my attempt to lighten the mood. "Ignore him, Niki," she said quickly, her cheeks still flushed with embarrassment. "He's just being ridiculous."
But Niki couldn't suppress a chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. "Well, in that case, I hope you two have a fantastic honeymoon," he said with a playful grin before making a hasty exit from the room.
As the door closed behind him, Jin Ah let out a sigh of relief, her shoulders sagging with exhaustion. "I can't believe you said that," she muttered, shaking her head in disbelief.
I couldn't help but grin at Jin Ah's reaction, knowing full well that my attempts at humor were not helping the situation. "Sorry," I said with a sheepish shrug. "I just couldn't resist."
But as I glanced at Jin Ah, I saw a flicker of something in her eyes – a hint of amusement, perhaps, or maybe even... warmth? It was fleeting, almost imperceptible, but it was there nonetheless.
And in that moment, surrounded by the sterile walls of the hospital room, I couldn't help but feel a surge of hope, a glimmer of possibility that maybe, just maybe, there was more to our relationship than meets the eye.
As Jin Ah attempted to pull away, I tightened my grip, refusing to let her slip away so easily. She struggled against my hold, her attempts growing more desperate with each passing moment.
"Let me go, Taehyung," she pleaded, her voice tinged with frustration.
But I held firm, unwilling to release her. "It's no use, Jin Ah," I said softly, my tone tinged with resignation. "You can't run from this."
She looked up at me, her eyes flashing with defiance. "Watch me," she retorted, her voice barely above a whisper.
I felt a pang of frustration at her stubbornness, but beneath it all, there was a flicker of something else – a longing, a desire that mirrored my own. And as she leaned in closer, her breath warm against my skin, I found myself unable to look away.
"Jin Ah," I whispered, my voice barely audible above the sound of our racing hearts.
But before I could say anything more, she closed the distance between us, her lips brushing against mine in a fleeting moment of connection. And then, just as suddenly as she had come, she pulled away, slipping from my grasp.
As Jin Ah managed to slip away from my grasp, she stood at a distance, her expression a mix of defiance and frustration. I watched her carefully, a mischievous grin playing on my lips as I couldn't resist the urge to tease her.
"You can't escape from me that easily, Jin Ah," I said with a playful smirk, my tone laced with amusement.
Her eyes narrowed, and she took a step back, clearly not amused by my antics. "Stop it, Taehyung," she snapped, her voice tinged with irritation.
But I couldn't help myself. The more she resisted, the more determined I became to push her buttons. "Oh, come on, Jin Ah. You know you love it when I tease you," I said with a wink, my grin widening.
Her cheeks flushed with anger, and she clenched her fists at her sides, clearly struggling to keep her composure. "You're insufferable," she muttered through gritted teeth.
I chuckled, enjoying the effect I was having on her. "And you're adorable when you're angry," I teased, taking a step closer to her.
But instead of melting at my words like she usually did, Jin Ah's expression darkened, and she pushed past me, storming out of the room without another word.
I watched her go, a pang of regret tugging at my chest. Maybe I had pushed her too far this time. But as much as I wanted to go after her and apologize, a part of me couldn't help but revel in the knowledge that, even in her anger, Jin Ah still occupied my thoughts like no one else ever could.
