Mansion

An AU where Frank is the son of a rich man who's moving their family to a mansion. Gerard, a poor boy Frank's age, is simply a servant along with his mother.

Frank's POV

I liked exploring the new mansion. It was fun. We had never been in a house this big before, and although we lived in a decent sized house, this felt more like a castle to me. The floors were all clean and the curtains were fancy with their floral patterns on them.

I got so caught up in observing the fine establishment, I wasn't even paying attention to what was in front of me.

"Mmph!" I fell back with a thud and realized that I had evidently run into someone. I looked up and was about to apologize when I was awestruck by the figure in front of me.

He was a boy, looking to be around 15, and he had dark tangly hair and the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. His clothes were rather simple. His face, however, had me in a trance for so long that I couldn't even speak before he was spitting apologies out of his mouth.

"Oh my god- I'm so sorry- I'm so foolish ugh! Here." He held out his hand and I took it, lifting myself up off the ground. "Sorry, sorry, sorry-" he trailed off, flushing red from embarrassment before running towards the staircase and heading down towards the basement.

I wanted to stop him, but I never got the chance. He was so beautiful and I didn't even catch his name. I would have to find out next time, I suppose.

After dinner time, I went to my room to go and check it out some more. When I walked in there, the boy that I had seen from earlier was inside. Currently, he was dusting the shelves. When he saw me, he stopped and stared for a moment. That must've meant he was a servant...

I smiled and waved at him. "Hi!" I stepped further inside and sat down on my bed, watching as he turned his body to face me.

It took him a minute to process that I had spoken. "Oh- hi! Um, sorry, I'm not used to people speaking to me around here." He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"It's fine. Sorry for bumping into you earlier, I suppose I got carried away with looking around and everything."

He looked confused for a second. "Why are you apologizing to me?"

That puzzled me. Wasn't it common decency to apologize for something like that? "Well I mean, it's my fault that we ran into each other, so it's kind of the right thing to do," I shrugged.

"Yeah but..." he looked down towards the ground with the same bewildered expression on his face, "no one ever apologizes to servants. I mean, I'm not as valuable as you, so anything wrong that happens must be my fault, right?"

"What?!" I asked, shocked. "Is that what they've been telling you?" He nodded once. "Oh dear. Please don't listen to them, you're a human just as everyone else. The amount of money someone has doesn't determine their value as a person.

He smiled shyly before putting his dust rag down and coming over to where I was sitting. He held his hand out. "I'm Gerard."

I took his hand, shaking it firmly. "I'm Frank." I smiled right back at him, and after the handshake was done, I held onto his hand for probably just a bit longer than I should've.

"Frank!" Gerard whisper-yelled. "What the hell are you doing down here? It's like, midnight almost." I had snuck into Gerard's room in the basement for the night. We had only met a few weeks ago but we had already developed a friendship.

I shrugged. "I got bored and lonely and I can't go to sleep." I sat down on his bed next to where he was laying. "Don't worry, it's not like anyone will find me here, I locked the door anyway."

Gerard reached over and turned the lamp on so that I could see his face. He rubbed his eyes to adjust to the light and sat up to face me. God, he looked even more beautiful. His hair was messier and he was wearing a pair of Star Wars pajamas. Cute.

I smiled softly when he yawned a little, and I scooted next to him. "Your room is really cool," I said. "It's like, busy but not in a messy way. I like it."

He snorted before responding. "Thanks I guess. I don't really understand how anyone could like this mess of a room, but thanks anyway."

"I tend to like messier things," I said. I was very obviously hinting towards the messy boy right in front of me, but he was so clueless that he didn't seem to pick up on it. "Ah. It is very cold in here though..." I shivered and folded my arms against my chest.

Sighing, he replied, "come here." I looked over and saw that he had lifted the blankets up, so I shuffled under them and allowed him to drop them back down over us. "So are you just planning to stay the entire night or-?"

"Yep. Pretty much." I closed my eyes and smiled contently.

Suddenly I felt a pair of hands pulling me towards Gerard's body, and I was right next to him with him hugging me. I squeaked in surprise. "Well, you said you were cold. Might as well warm you up," he stated matter-of-factly.

"Good idea," I nodded before snuggling against his chest.

"Frank, we're not supposed to be up here," Gerard said from the balcony. I was on the top of the roof, and he was looking up at me in fear. "It's dangerous, please get down."

"It's not dangerous," I smiled. "Come up here with me! It's fun!" He looked nervous but slowly stood on a chair to be able to reach the roof. He climbed up and was right next to me when he almost slipped.

"Agh!" He yelled loudly, but I caught his arm with my hand and pulled him back up to where I was sitting. He brushed himself off with the other hand that I wasn't gripping onto and settled himself beside me with a huff.

"See? That wasn't so bad, was it?" I giggled. I moved my hand that was originally gripping his wrist to his hand, and locked our fingers together. He looked slightly confused but let it pass. "Now you can't fall because I'm holding onto you."

"I suppose so."

We sat in complete peace for what seemed like a lifetime, until the sun had begun to set and I saw Gerard look at the sky in awe.

"Wow. It's so beautiful," I stated.

"Yeah, it really is," he smiled at me briefly before turning back to look at the sky.

I sighed contently and leaned my head to lay it on his shoulder. I was worried he would flinch or move away or something, but to my surprise, he began resting his head on top of mine.

He stroked the back of my hand with his thumb as we sat there watching the sun go down.

"Frankie, dear! It's time for dinner!" I heard my mom call from inside.

"Awh. I don't wanna leave." I said. Gerard giggled at me and lifted his head off of mine so that we could face each other properly.

"It's okay, Frankie, we can hang out another time." I smiled and was about to slide down the roof when I thought of something. I let go of his hand and quickly grabbed his face, giving him a small kiss on the cheek before sliding down the roof and entering the house in one swift movement.

The downside of doing that was that I didn't get to see his face afterwards, but the plus side was that he didn't get to see me blush.

My parents were hosting a party in the mansion today, and it was hell. I hated parties, and they knew that, but they expected me to meet some fancy girl or whatever and magically fall in love. The thing was, I wasn't going to fall in love with anyone fancy or anyone who was a girl.

I wanted to escape the room when yet another girl walked up to me and tried striking up a conversation. "Hey. Frank, right?"

I didn't verbally respond, just nodding slightly.

"Cool. I've heard a lot about you. I know this is kind of sudden, but do you want to go on a date sometime?" I sighed before turning to her and smiling.

"Look, I appreciate the offer really, but here's the thing. I'm not into girls, and yet I've had about 300 hitting on me all day. I would request that you could just leave me alone. Thanks."

She huffed before crossing her arms. "Fine. I didn't want to date you anyway. I was just being nice. Jerk." She stormed off and I rolled my eyes, making my way through the crowd until I finally ran into a familiar face.

"Oh my god Gerard- thank god." I pulled him into a hug and he awkwardly hugged me back while chuckling.

"Tired?" He asked humorously.

"Not really I just fucking hate it here." He ran his fingers through the back of my hair and pulled us away from the crowd so we could properly hear each other.

"Wanna go downstairs? There's no people down there." He smiled as I nodded, and he grabbed my hand to pull me downstairs.

When we got to his room, he closed the door and locked it, and I sighed in relief. "It's so much better down here," I said while flopping down onto his bed. He sat down beside me. "You know I had about 4000 girls hitting on me up there?" I laughed.

He had an unreadable expression on his face that made me curious. "Really? Wow. Why didn't you wanna stay up there..?"

"Because. I don't really like girls hitting on me," I shrugged.

"Oh." He replied. "I'm surprised. Most guys would die for the chance to be with rich girls over some random poor guy that they happen to be friends with," he chuckled dryly.

"Yeah, well, I'm not most guys. I'm not-" I cut myself off before I could finish.

"Not what? Frank, you're not what?" He questioned further, inching closer to me on the bed.

"It's nothing, never mind."

Suddenly he tackled me to the bed and I yelled in surprise. My wrists were pinned down and he was on top of me so that I couldn't move. I tried struggling out of it but it didn't work. "I'm not letting you go until you tell me," he said.

It was extremely hard to focus, being pinned down to the bed by the guy I had a crush on and all. It also didn't help that his face was about 2 inches away from mine. I sighed and finally gave in. "I'm not attracted to girls. There I said it. Happy?"

"Really?" He asked, his tone soft. I nodded once. "Hey, neither am I." I took the opportunity to flip us over and it caught him by surprise. "Hey! You weren't supposed to do that!"

I smirked in victory. "Well I did do it. Hah!" He smiled up at me and I couldn't help but notice the gleam in his eyes. He was just as beautiful as when I first met him.

My eyes trailed down from his eyes to his lips, and I realized that he definitely noticed. He seemed... comfortable, so I took this as the opportunity. I grabbed the back of his neck and pressed my lips against his.

He made a surprised sound but immediately kissed back, wrapping his arms around my waist. It was a soft kiss at first, escalating into something much more passionate.

I slipped my tongue into his mouth and moved it around with his, making waves of pleasure move through my body. I had never kissed a guy before. It was far more intimate than kissing girls ever was for me.

I pulled away when my father began calling for me. I knew I was definitely blushing because of the way my cheeks were heated up. It's alright because so was he, and we were both grinning.

"I guess I should get back up there before I'm missed. I'll see you back soon." He nodded and I gave him one more peck on the lips before retreating back to the main area.

When I got back upstairs, I must have looked like I just kissed someone, because my father eyed me suspiciously.

"Your lips are awfully red Frank. Finally found a girl to marry one day?"

"I guess you could say that," I muttered.
