Payphone (Frikey)
(This is based off of the song Payphone by Maroon 5, you should totally listen to it cause its great....also I hope this doesn't suck)
Ghoul sighed, throwing his arm over his eyes, rolling over on the mat he was supposed to be asleep on. He eventually got up, giving up on the entire idea of getting any rest, so he walked over to where his friend was on watch duty.
Jet whirled around, shoving Ghoul backwards, his hand going to his raygun. "Oh, it's just you...hey, Ghoul, what's up?" He sighed, trying to hunt down some cigarettes that he usually kept in his pockets, finding two after a good few minutes of looking, handing one to his friend.
"Thanks, and I couldn't sleep, so I thought I should relieve you from watch duty." Ghoul replied, climbing on top of the car, a small puff of smoke falling from his lips. Jet frowned a bit, leaning against the hood, propping his chin up on his hands.
"Why couldn't you sleep?" Jet asked. Ghoul shook his head, turning his head so he wouldn't have to look at his friend, trying to pay attention to the smoke trails instead of what was going on in his head, but it hadn't stopped replaying since two weeks ago when it happened. "Oh...you're thinking of him aren't you?"
"Yes, Ray, I'm thinking of Mikey." Ghoul snapped, sitting up violently, glaring at the older man. "I haven't stopped since the breakup, you should know that."
Jet nodded, running his hand through his hair. "I'm sorry, I know you don't like talking about it, I'm sorry..."
"It's not that, I fucked up big time, and now he hates me, the whole team split up, damnit!" Ghoul said, sighing as he lay back down, gazing at the stars above him, his brain switching from the old times with his ex to the breakup, and then him leaving. Each memory that played behind his eyes made his chest hurt, making him feel ten times wore and regret every word he had yelled at Kobra. Their exchanged "I hate yous" echoing through his mind, when they had gotten into a fistfight a second later that Poison and Jet had had to break up, then decided they should all split up for a few hours, but those few hours turned into days, and now it had been two weeks.
"Ghoul? Why did you both breakup?" Jet asked.
"Cause I'm an idiot, I won't explain what actually happened." Ghoul mumbled, slipping into the car, turning the small radio on, trying to find the right frequency so he could contact the rest of the team. He held his cigarette between his fingers, taking a deep breath of oxygen as he heard sound from the other side.
"Who is this?" Kobra's muffled voice came through, pitched lower than usual. Ghoul guessed it was so he could mask who was on the other side in case a Killjoy wasn't talking to him.
"It's Ghoul." He sighed, leaning back. "I wanted to apologize."
"I don't wanna hear it, Ghoul, just go find those girls from Battery City, they'll keep you occupied."
"Mikey, I didn't cheat on you, I swear I-"
"Yeah yeah yeah, I've heard it all, but you kept sneaking out, coming back with your hair all messy, your clothes wrinkled, you had fucking hickeys on you one time." Kobra said. "I don't want to hear your shit apology, and never use my name again. I hate you." Then the transmission went to static, leaving Ghoul still holding the radio in his hand, cursing himself while Jet just stayed quiet, gently patting his friend's shoulder, then ended up getting in the car, deciding to just go for a drive to get supplies and clear their heads.

Poison walked over to his brother, noticing something was wrong. He put their food down, putting his arm around Kobra's shoulders. "Mikey, what's the matter?" He asked, frowning as he tried to figure it out for himself, then noticed the radio. "Oh, him again?"
Kobra nodded, hugging his knees. "Shouldn't I be over him? After two weeks shouldn't I not be caught up in all this shit?"
Poison shrugged. "I don't know, he hurt you lots, so it might take more time to get over him. What did he want anyway?" He replied, resting his chin on the top of his brother's head, trying to be prepared for if Kobra needed to rant or cry again, he was used to it at this point, but it still hurt to see him in that amount of pain still.
"He wanted to apologize, but it's all the same thing! He doesn't get that he cheated on me, and it isn't my fault. I got paranoid and scared sure, but I had good reason to, right?"
Poison nodded. "He's called you every other night, Mikey, have you given him a chance just to hear what he has to say?"
Kobra shook his head, standing up suddenly. "I've given him chances, he always says the same thing. If he wanted to talk to me so badly about it, he would show his fucking face." He said, kicking a small cactus near his brother, sending it flying into the darkness. "What the hell did I do wrong, Gee? Why didn't I make him happy?"
Poison jumped up, pulling his brother into a hug. "Hey, that was his dumb choice, not yours. You were a wonderful boyfriend to him, and in my opinion you're perfect okay? If he's so much of an idiot to make the decision to cheat on you, then he's a bitch and waste of your time." He said, holding Kobra close, rubbing his back gently.
"I know I fucked up and did something wrong, I must have. I just gotta figure out what it is." Kobra replied, wiping his eyes. "I just need some sleep, I love you, Gee."
"I love you too, Mikey, g'night." Poison said, getting in the sleeping bag that he and his brother were sharing for the time being, both of them staying wide awake for a while, waiting for the other to fall asleep first, but they both drifted off at the same time after a few minutes.
The next morning Kobra woke up to Poison shaking him. "Yo we need to go, Dracs found us, let's hightail it." The younger brother nodded, sitting up, grabbing his sunglasses as he rolled up the sleeping bag, putting the radio inside it. "Did you have a nightmare last night?"
"I don't think so, why?" Kobra replied, strapping their stuff to the end of his motorcycle, making sure his raygun was charged.
"You kept whimpering and crying...you also said his name..."
He shook his head, sighing. "It's just a dream, it means nothing. This isn't some shit filled fairy tale or fucking love song." Kobra said, getting on his bike. "We're not gonna magically get back together because of a dream, and over calls on the radio." Poison nodded, getting on the bike also, wrapping his arms around his brother's back as they took off down the desert road. Why couldn't Ghoul have not been a jerk? He thought, wishing that the whole group were back together, knowing that they were all more vulnerable this way and an easy target. Either one of the two groups could easily be taken down by a good group of people if they felt like it, and the others might never find out.
The two brothers drove down to Battery City, parking the bike in an alleyway, throwing a random tarp and a few boxes over top it so no one would hopefully steal it. Kobra kept his sunglasses on, Poison wearing his usual yellow mask over his eyes, but the older man had decided to bring the radio with them. "Why the hell did you bring that?" Kobra asked.
"I need to ask Jet if he's okay, look, there's an old payphone over there, I'll bet we could wire this shit up and contact him." Poison said, going over to the place he had talked about, but Kobra just simply took the radio inside the payphone area, hooking up the wires of the radio into the phone's, quickly testing if he got anything other than static.
"Who's there?" Jet's voice said.
"Um, it's Kobra, Pois wanted me to check if you were okay." Kobra replied.
"Oh, hey, Kobra, and yeah Ghoul and I are doing good, how are you and Poison?"
"We're doing good...um...can you tell Ghoul something for me?" He asked, seeing his brother whirl around, giving him a wtf is happening look.
"Yeah sure, what's up?" Jet asked, then said something that Kobra couldn't hear, then said a faint okay. He sighed a bit, drumming his fingers on the small counter on the payphone wall.
"Can you tell him that I'm sorry for snapping again? And that I might be ready to hear his apology?" Kobra said, hearing silence on the other line for a while, then heard the sound of a raygun going off, then static. "Pois! We gotta go!"
"What's wrong!?" Poison exclaimed, his hand suddenly being grabbed by Kobra's, pulling them back to where the bike was.
"Ghoul and Jet need us, I heard their rayguns going off over the radio." Kobra replied. His older brother nodded a bit, both of them getting on the motorcycle again, taking off down the streets again. Kobra was cursing under his breath, then suddenly had his hair yanked on by his brother. He looked over to the right, spotting the flash of rayguns. He instantly steered towards the other killjoys, running two Dracs over with the motorcycle.
"Kobra? Poison?" Ghoul said, shooting a Drac in the head. "Uh...hi..."
"Talk later, we're busy right now." Jet shouted, drop kicking another one of their enemies, shooting it a few times. Poison teamed up with his taller friend, Kobra instantly going over to Ghoul.
"We gotta talk." Kobra shouted over the sound of their rayguns going off, kicking a Drac in the head.
"Yeah I know." Ghoul said. "I promise I didn't cheat on you, I can explain all the stuff that happened."
"You'd better." He replied, shooting down the last Drac, moving closer to Ghoul.
"Look, I was getting supplies from this girl, and to get the stuff we all needed, I would have to do stuff. Fighting most of the time, but the last time she wanted me to..." Ghoul began, looking at the ground. "I tried to get her off me, I swear, but she left hickeys on me, and I did shoot her, Mikey, she called the patrollers on me anyway."
Kobra nodded slowly. "Don't tell me it was Jamia, don't tell me it was her."
"It was Jamia."
Kobra bit his lip. "So, did you ever have to do anything like that with anyone?"
"I usually snuck out somehow, you know I was yours and yours only." Ghoul said, sitting down on the motorcycle, looking up at Kobra. "I know I fucked up big time."
"So, the whole time you were getting supplies, nearly got killed and almost hooked up with multiple people?"
"Yeah, and I feel terrible about all of it, I didn't want to do it, Mikey, but you don't know how much it hurts to see your boyfriend and friends getting sick every day cause they haven't eaten in weeks, I couldn't just sit there anymore and let that happen." He replied.
Kobra nodded. "I'm sorry I yelled at you, and said I hated you and all the rest of the stuff that went down two weeks ago."
"It's okay, I would have gotten pissed off if I thought you were cheating on me." Ghoul said, smiling a little, holding both of Kobra's scuffed up and bloody hands. "Also jeez, Mikes, you got really hurt."
"It's not that bad." Kobra replied, sitting down next to Ghoul, smiling a bit as he began getting fussed over, just like how things used to be.
Ghoul gently wiped the blood away, taking some bandages out of his pocket, wrapping up Kobra's knuckles. Before he could think twice he left two small kisses on each of the other boy's hands, then realized what he had done. "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking, I didn’t-" he began, but was met with Kobra's lips on his. Ghoul's eyes fluttered shut, kissing him back, wrapping his arms around his shoulders.
"Okay guys, so do you want to- woah." Jet said, seeing the other two kissing on the motorcycle. He smiled to himself, waving Poison over.
"What? Aww, hell yes!" Poison exclaimed loudly, making Kobra and Ghoul break away, both of them blushing and laughing a little. "Does this mean you're back together?"
Kobra and Ghoul looked over at each other. "If you want to." The darker haired one said, grinning a bit.
"Damn right I want to, how about you, Frankie?"
"Damn right I want to too." Ghoul replied, smiling wider, standing up to only dip Kobra backwards, making him laugh a bit more, kissing him again.
"Finally, no more radio drama."
