Mornings (Frerard)

*beep* beep* *beep*

Frank groaned, pulling a blanket over his head, his hands covering his ears so he wouldn't have to hear the obnoxious blaring from his alarm clock. He really really really did not want to get up, drive to work, and then sit in a boring meeting about nothing for the whole day.

"Frankieeeeee..." Gerard called out sleepily, whimpering a little as he put his head under his pillow, trying to block out the noise like his husband was doing. Frank reached over, hitting the alarm clock violently to make it stop going off. He finally sat up after a few minutes of laying in bed, not wanting to move a single muscle, then gave into the fact that he would eventually get up, and it was better to do it now than be scrambling around frantically to get out the door on time.

He spotted Sweet Pea, who was still asleep on her dog bed, but instantly sat up as she heard her owner. She was the only thing in the house that actually liked mornings, usually barking at the squirrels and birds outside that she couldn't get to yet since the doors were still locked and her owners weren't up yet, and much to Gerard and Frank's disliking, she had figured out if she barked loud enough for a long time, one of them would eventually come downstairs and let her out.

She yipped at Frank's feet as he started making coffee for himself and for his husband, smiling at his dog. "Hey, Sweet Pea, how're you doing?" He asked, yawning as he rubbed his eyes. "See any squirrels? Or were you watching that spider that lives outside the window that Gee insists on keeping there?"

Sweet Pea cocked her head to the side, looking at her owner in confusion. Random sleepy rants about dumb things from Frank was a very normal thing, especially now that the new topic usually was on the spider that lived on the outside of the kitchen window. Frank loathed it, and did everything possible not to look at it, whereas Gerard was fascinated with the small arachnid. They had had the conversation many times about how the spider was more scared of Frank, than he was of it, but that hadn't helped at all, and Frank still hated it more than anything.

Frank jumped as the coffee machine went off, sighing. "Why is everything so loud?" He muttered, climbing up on the kitchen counter to reach two mugs that thankfully his husband had pulled forwards to help the shorter man out. He carefully climbed back down, making sure not to step on Sweet Pea since she was right in the middle of his landing space.

"Good morning, Geebee." Frank said softly, walking back into his room, setting the two coffee mugs down on the bedside table, kissing his husband's forehead.

Gerard smiled a little, opening one of his eyes to look up at Frank. "G'mornin', Frankie." He hummed out, sitting up to get his coffee, pulling his husband onto his lap, holding him close. Frank wanted to protest and tell him he had to get ready, but Gerard had a way of making those other thoughts and priorities go away for a moment, and that was what he was doing now.

It wasn't the best thing in the world, especially if you had a business meeting, but at the moment those thoughts had faded, and Frank was curled up in his husband's arms, the two of them drinking their coffee in perfect silence, which was soon broken by Gerard speaking.

"Why're you up so early, Frankie?" He asked, playing with the other man's long black hair. Frank sighed, sitting up again as he rubbed his eyes, remembering that he did in fact need to get up again and get ready.

"I have a meeting." He replied, getting out of his husband's arms, yawning as he did so. "I gotta leave in about ten minutes, and they said they're gonna need me for almost all day, and I might get called in early tomorrow for a backup meet...baby, what's wrong?"

Gerard shook his head, his flaming red hair falling into his face, wincing as one strand got in his eye. "You're always so busy at work with those stupid meetings, you've hardly been home." He said, looking up at Frank. "Don't go, pleaseeeee?"

Frank smiled, rolling his eyes. "I know, Geebee, but I have to go to work cause-"

Gerard frowned, crossing his arms over his chest. "Frank Iero-Way, don't you even think about giving me the whole money lecture again."

"It isn't a lecture, I'm trying to make a point."

"Frankie," the older man said, pulling his husband back onto the bed again, gently holding his face in his hands. "I love how you want to take care of us, I love it that you're motivated and you have a...an okay job, but I don't want it to take my husband away. I married you, not your job, and I certainly don't want to only see you only at night and when you bring me my coffee in the mornings."

Frank nodded, thinking it over. He really hadn't been home hardly, and even when he was home his job was still keeping him quite busy. "I don't think my meeting is that important, it's probably just a recap..."

Gerard's face lit up as he grinned widely. "Does that mean you're gonna stay?"

Frank nodded, only to be tackled into a tight hug from his husband. He laughed, hugging him back happily. "You'd better come up with a good cover story, babe."

"Stomach flu, that'll keep you out of work for a good couple of days, and if they try to send you any work on your computer I'll tell them you can't do it." Gerard said, laying on his side so he could face Frank, smiling at him. "Besides, if you're so nauseous, you can't look at a screen now can you?"

Frank rolled his eyes, kissing Gerard's forehead. "You're gonna be the reason I get fired, I just know it."

"If it means I'll get to spend more time with you, then I'll be happy."

The younger man smiled, shaking his head. "Why do you love spending time with me so much? We've been together for... almost five years, two of which we were dating... you woulda thought you'd get sick of seeing my face after a while."

"Because I love you, and I'm never gonna get sick of seeing your beautiful face, Frankie." Gerard said, playing with his husband's hair again, kissing his lips for a moment before pulling away to speak again. "And if I didn't wanna spend time with you, I wouldn't have married you... but guess what? You're stuck with this motherfucker for the rest of your lifeeeee!"

"You aren't just a motherfucker, Gee, don't say that about my husband." Frank said, giggling as he kissed Gerard again, smiling against his lips, the two of them cuddling close to each other. These were the kinds of mornings that Frank could definitely get used to, making out with his husband instead of going to a meeting sounded perfect.

Gerard pulled away for a moment to catch his breath, giggling softly as Frank quickly pulled him back down into their kiss. "Mm...Frankie...baby we gotta call your work..." the older man said in between kisses, his eyes fluttering closed as Frank wrapped his arms around his neck.

"Does it have to be right now?" Frank asked, resting his forehead against Gerard's. "I haven't gotten to do this with you for weeks, and I miss making out with you like this, with no interruptions... well, Sweet Pea barks and gets on the bed a lot, but other than that-"

"I know, Frankie, but you know your work will start calling if we don't tell them you're sick... and for heaven's sake stop tugging on my shirt like a toddler." Gerard said, rolling his eyes at Frank as he picked up his phone. "Horny little fuck..." he muttered softly.

"I heard that!"

"I know, I love you though."

"I love you too." Frank said, spotting Sweet Pea in the hallway, getting up to go get her and bring her into their bedroom. He heard Gerard explain to whoever was on the phone that he had stomach flu, saying that he could barely even leave the bathroom floor so he couldn't come in to work for a while. He smiled, playing with Sweet Pea for a while until he heard his husband call his name, which made him rush back into the room with his dog in his arms.

"Aw, hi, baby." Gerard said, picking Sweet Pea up, kissing the top of her head. Frank frowned a little, pretending to be offended. "I didn't forget you, Frankie, I just wanted to say hi to our baby."

Frank smiled widely, wrapping his arms around Gerard. "Thanks for covering for me, babe."

"It's no problem, besides, I was the one that came up with it." Gerard said, setting Sweet Pea back on the bed, laying down as he pulled Frank on top of him again. "Where were we earlier?"

Frank grinned, locking lips with Gerard for a second before his dog began barking at them loudly. "Ugh not again..." he groaned. "It's always something."

Gerard rolled his eyes at the dog, pulling her over towards him. "How about we just cuddle for a while, then we go get food? Does that sound okay?" Frank nodded, resting his head on Gerard's chest, petting Sweet Pea. This was definitely the best place be could possibly be.
