Chapter 10: Irreversible

     Inu's POV

I almost began to vomit, the sight of what was laying on the ground almost made my whole world spin. I coughed heavily as Grace immediately noticed my sickened glare at the corpse.

"We f-found it...this morning, Leon found it first," Grace began to sob very lightly at the sight of the body once more. She looked even worse while staring directly at it. I shook my head, beginning to approach the corpse.

"How is it fucking possible that someone murdered again!? I thought we all promised we weren't going to kill anymore!" I told myself as I couldn't believe what was in front of me. Talus the midday Lycanroc had died, his head bashed in the rock with no mercy.

With that, the Lycanroc brothers have both been executed and murdered. This wasn't fair - none of this was supposed to happen. Talus seemed to be getting a little bit better at least. But there was no time to think, for all I know I could have been unconscious for a very long time after the body was discovered. I need to investigate right now before the trial starts - I can't go in there without knowing anything.

     And so...I began.

The sight of the body was absolutely horrible, I didn't even want to glare at it - so even touching it would possibly make me faint. I can't believe I'm investigating another corpse, just after everyone denied the fact that we were going to murder one another. Sam was right, there is someone in this group that would kill another. I still don't get it at all.

With horror, I stared at the body blankly. A voice began to call to me.

"We better start investigating quick, the trial is going to start," a Manectric assured me as I nodded to her. Rayne was the first one to take the step in inspecting the body. "His head is bashed in - there seems to be no murder weapon but a boulder. It's chipped into pieces, there is no denying that he really was killed this way. Anyone who was seen outside alone with Talus could be potential suspects," Rayne mumbled to herself as I began to walk closer to the corpse. Talus wasn't a bad person, why would anyone murder him? Then again, Vince did not do anything wrong...but here we are...innocent people still getting killed to this day.

"I...I'm going to check elsewhere for evidence...there could be something," I murmured as Rayne sighed and nodded to my statement. I slowly rushed out of the area with Grace following behind me. I felt so horrible - I didn't even want Grace to be next to me, I just wanted to be alone. I didn't want anyone else to see me in such a mess - especially now.

I turned to a specific corner of the building and saw something strange entangled to a window. It was odd, neither of our dorm rooms had any windows - so seeing this made it quite alarming. I slowly began to trudge my way over to the object. It was a rope, a bloody rope. It seemed to be used due to the fact that it was attached to a window. Grace sighed from behind me.

"Gruta just checked, this leads to Talus' room," the Eevee stated in an almost monotone voice, something I didn't want to hear from my best friend.

"Talus has a window in his room? That's strange, my room didn't have one..."

"My room didn't have one either - In fact, his room is the only one who has a window and seeing how it was used to leave the dorm itself, it's very important to the case," Grace informed me as I nodded. It was odd how Talus had the only window from all the dorms, was this the way the murderer could have gotten into his room?

"Well, let's check it out then," I clutched the Eevee carefully as I began climbing the rope. There were some parts of the rope that seemed to be bloody - but I obviously avoided those parts. I finally made my way over to the open window and glared inside. The floor was a bloody mess, I nearly stopped gripping the rope until I finally pulled my leg over the frame. I peeked deeper inside the room to see a small note placed on the ground. It was a yellow note...something I've never seen before. I gripped it very carefully and began reading the words.

"I'll be at your door around 3 AM, please answer it, it's about your brother," the note read as I dropped it instantly. Was he possibly baited? Who wrote this, and how did Talus get his hands on it? I need to look into this...

"Inu! There are some gloves here!" My head jerked to the direction of her voice, I instantly knew what she was talking about. There were gloves just barely hiding under the metal frame of Talus' bed. They were coated with metal, and both gloves seemed to be bloody. One noticeable thing about it seemed to be that the glove is broken. I wonder how that could have happened...

"Rayne said to me that he was bludgeoned with a boulder, but seeing this makes me feel like that's not the case," I began as I slowly turned around to glare at the large pool of blood. "There is a pool of blood here, and it drags all the way to the window...could the culprit hav-"

     *Ding dong, ding dong*

There's no way! I didn't investigate enough! Why did I have to wake up so late?!

"Well, I'm getting quite bored! Meet at the Braixen fountain so we could get this fun'a'rollin'!" Sam's cackling voice reverberated around the building.

"You look like you're not sure, I wish you would have woken up earlier when we were doing the investigating," Grace almost questioned me as I shook my head.

"They can tell me what I don't know as soon as the trial starts...for now...we should go," I sighed heavily. The burden once begun...but the damage now is...

     Irreversible.

Once again, we lowered down the elevator. The darkness consumed us as we entered the void, the only sounds heard were the sound of mourning Pokemon - as well as my labored breathing. I was practically the source of light in the elevator due to the fact that I made flames so we could see. We seemed to be going rather fast into the underground.

     Then we stopped.

We all managed to stumble our way to our assigned seats, and with disbelief - we glared once more at the same courtroom.

"Oh...hi everyone, just wait for Sam to come," I glared directly at the more relaxed Braixen.

"W-Wait, so there's really two of you?" Grace stammered as the Braixen nodded.

"Yeah, why else would we have different personalities?" Sammy replied as she yawned immediately after her rhetoric question. We waited for what felt like hours, and some of us began to grow sick of waiting for the other Braixen to arrive.

But before we could even say anything, Sammy began to stand up...and immediately crashed onto the ground.

"What the hell?" Kanom blurted out as he dashed to the Braixen, Loki following right behind him. It was a brief second, but Sammy seemed to twitch very lightly. She wasn't evil, Sam was...but something feels wrong.

"Kanom, wait!" I called out as he instantly froze to lock his eyes to mine. "Don't trust it!" I called out once more as Loki kept dashing to him. The Zoroark finally reached to the fainted body, and then...

I didn't see it quite well, in fact, I couldn't see at all. The blinding light that could only be caused by an explosion, is now in front of me. It was impossible, and the blinding light overtook the building as the smell of smoke seeped into our nostrils. It was impossible to leave the room, impossible to breath actual oxygen...am I going to die?

As if it was on queue, the sound of ringing occurred, and showers of water flew from the sky and onto the flames. We coughed and coughed until I felt like I was about to throw up a lung...until...

"Well, that's what she gets for taking my throne! Now then, let's get this trial started shall we?" A less relaxed Braixen carelessly phased through the smoke and made a horrible expression. An ear-to-ear devilish grin was written on her face, did she just kill Sammy?

"Loki!" I heard Alice call in the distance, my head snapping around to see what was wrong. I glared at the unconscious body of Loki directly on the hardwood floor. She was blown back from the explosion due to the fact that she seemed to be inches away from Sammy. I really hope she's alive, she won't open her eyes!

"She's not breathing!" Aubra suddenly called, the Absol beginning to hyperventilate soon after.

"Then fucking help her, Arceus damnit!" I found myself calling.

     But she didn't wake up.
