Chapter 8: Differences

     Sammy's POV

Ironically enough, I actually enjoyed sharing a room with Xeonix. I know, I know, it sounds off after seeing myself so annoyed with him. But the feeling of company is very important in this mansion, and without it, someone could potentially go insane.

A knock on my door cause me to leap off the comfortable bed, and it was back to standing on my feet. As I paced across the room, I felt myself recollecting back to the time Galant was executed. That was so...rough? Seeing his flesh torn and...urgh...I feel like vomiting.

My paw rose to open the door, but after listening closely, I paused. A gentle, creaking noise was heard in front of me, and it didn't take long to realize...

There was someone...pushing against the door?

"What's the rush..?" I tilted my head and turned the knob...before glaring inside. It was a jet black void, and to my surprise, something was moving inside of it.

A dark shadow lunged at me as I felt webbed hands clutch against my shoulders, pinning me harshly against the ground. I felt the cold breeze from the door seep through my fur. I was seconds away from screaming until I heard something off.

I felt the weight against me lift, and an entertained cackle resonated around the room.

"You should'a seen yer fuckin face!" An accented voice laughed, and as I focused from my teary gaze...I saw Vince pacing in circles and slapping his thigh in laughter.

"Very funny." I shuddered. "I thought I was going to die, Vince!"

"Yeah, yeah..." The Greninja hiccupped and smirked widely at me. "Either way, yer fuckin' funnier. Arceus, that face you made."

I ignored his words and focused on something else...

"What is that smell?" I scrunched my muzzle in disgust as the strong scent now flushed through the air in my room. "Are you...you're drunk, aren't you?"

"Bingo! Bigby kicked m-" A hiccup interrupted his little speech, but that sure didn't stop him. "He kicked me out of the room because of it..."

"For good reason. Come on, it's time for some water." I deeply sighed and paced near him, slapping him on the back of the head.

"Ow! Ya fuckin' cunt." Vince tried to turn around, but I quickly clutched his tongue scarf, squeezing it harshly. "Ack! Aight, aight!" He obliged and stepped out of the room.

I followed him outside and closed the door behind me.

"What could be so bad about water, right?" I reassured as I nudged him over to the kitchen. "Now get your water, I'll be making sure you actually get it..."

"Arceus...save me..." Vince groaned in annoyance.

     Hydra's POV

"So what do we do now?" Bigby threw the question in the air. We were all finally gathered in the living room once again to question our stay in this horrid mansion.

"We break through the glass, duh. I can't be the only one who thinks that." Nightshade rolled her eyes, her gaze locked onto the group.

"The last time you did that you got fucked." Luster groaned in annoyance. "We're trying to survive here, and escape alive."

"Luster's right...but I don't see the use in sitting here like ducks..." Loki shuffled around with her claws and huffed. "If we're going to escape then we should at least look for some other exits that aren't the glass."

"Other exits?" Prince scoffed. "You're joking. Everything has already been explored. What more do you want?"

"An exit, Prince. An exit." Loki scratched the back of her head in stress. "That's all I want."

"That's what we all want, dumbass!" Inu barked and crossed her arms. "It's not that easy when your host is crazy yet smart."

     Silence...

"Man...I'm hungry as fuck." Sherwood sighed and clutched his stomach.

"I can cook us something..." I finally spoke to rise off my chair and pace near the kitchen. "It's going to take a lot to make many portions but...give me a good hour."

"Don't cook me anything. I'm not hungry." Nightshade laid back in her chair, her wings twitching lightly.

A snicker, and then an annoyed snarl from the Salazzle.

"What's so funny, Luster?" Nightshade hissed loudly.

"I'm not surprised you're not hungry...you're body is already eating itself." Luster snickered once again and cracked into a fit of laughter. The others seemed to chuckle lightly with him, but it was all stopped when the Salazzle rose to her feet.

I paused to gaze at the now airborne Salazzle. Her scales were glowing brightly in a purple hue, and it all collected onto the tip of her tail. She lunged at the Luxray, who rose to his paws and easily leaped away.

"The fuck you think you're doin'?" Luster scoffed at Nightshade, who had her poisoned tail already jabbed into the empty couch. Inu was the first to step forward and hold her back.

"I'm sick of your shit!" Nightshade snarled in annoyance. "What did I ever do to you!?"

"When will you ever get it in your brain?" Luster shook his head and began pacing away. "I'm here to be blunt for the better of all of us. Now eat before you starve." Well...that wasn't the best thing to look at. I should talk to both of them later. But for now, it's time to cook.

     THIRD PERSON

After a long while, the mansion finally seemed to calm down. After all, thanks to Hydra's help, he eased the bad blood between the two Pokemon.

Xeonix was making his way across the hallway and held two plates on his paws. With ease, he made it to his room door and knocked with his leg.

A few gentle taps were heard from inside before the door opened.

"Hey..." Luna weakly smiled at the Incineroar.

"Sup, buddy." Xeonix smiled warmly and stepped inside, placing the two plates neatly against a table. "I brought the food so you wouldn't have to eat with everyone else..."

"Thank you..." Luna smiled, his head nodding with appreciation.

"Now then..." Xeonix sat with his legs crossed on the carpeted floor. "Let's get to digging..!" He placed one plate in front of him, and the other directly in front of the Umbreon.

Luna nodded and sat on his haunches, nibbling at the meal with care. "I heard Hydra was cooking..." The Umbreon gulped down the food. "It's actually quite good."

"It's really good!" Xeonix chuckled and rose his plate to eat larger portions of the rice. "I taste Oran berries in this rice..."

"Same here...I guess it's a trick he does or something..." Luna's smile seemed to deter as he finished his food.

"You okay? Need some more?" Xeonix tilted his head. His paw jetted forward to grab his plate, before...

"N-No! I-I'm fine...yeah..." Luna sighed. "I just wish I could matter to you all. Everyone hates me..."

"Are you sure you want to matter in a place like this?" Xeonix crossed his arms.

"Yeah..bu--" Luna was about to say something, but was cut off by the open door behind Xeonix creaking wider.

"Luster..? We're uh...busy here." Xeonix frowned and gazed at the Luxray.

"Wait...Luster is fine..." Luna huffed gently. "He's nice...to me at least..." Luster nodded and paced in the room quietly, closing the door behind him with his tail.

"Tell me, kid." His voice soothed as he sat down near Xeonix. "What's wrong?"

"Yo, Bigs!" A voice reverberated around the outside of the mansion.

"Yeah?" Bigby huffed and rose to his feet. He was previously laying down on the grass, but figured it'd be best to follow his friend's voice. "What's up, Zants?" The Midnight Lycanroc paced closer to find his Blaziken friend pointing towards a certain metal door.

"I think I found something." Zantai leaned in closer. "Help me break it open. My kicks alone won't budge it...and you're stronger so..."

"Fine, fine." Bigby chuckled and grinned, stepping closer to the door. "Ready?" He glared at the metal door and reeled his fist back. Zantai nodded and rose his leg.

With a kick and a punch, the metal door flung off its screws and shattered into the inside of the room.

"Woah...this room is definitely not in level with the ground out here..." Zantai gazed inside. "It isn't that deep, however. That's merely a six-foot drop..."

Bigby nodded and leaped inside, landing gracefully on the metal ground. "This is like...a garage of some sort...except it's being used for a storage unit?"

"It's odd to keep a noose in a storage unit..." Zantai pointed at the noose-like rope on the ground, being emitted from the light they caused from the broken metal door.

"I've got a bad feeling about this room..." Bigby shook his head and inhaled the stagnating air.

"How about we leave?" He turned his head to his friend, who was already taking his advice.

Zantai carefully leaped up the doorway and turned around. The Blaziken kneeled down and offered the midnight Lycanroc his talons.

"Thank you..." Bigby smiled and sprung up from the ground, clutching tightly on his friend. After both of them safely exited, the dark type couldn't help but look back. "This room reeks of bad vibes..." He frowned and gazed at the noose.

"Let's get out...you're going to jynx something..."
