Chapter 1: Yeah... No
A/N: This fanfic is for one of my favorite Minecraft Role Plays the "Big Ghost SMP". This was posted on my Ao3 awhile ago but I just decided to have it on Wattpad too.
Red around their mountain restlessly. They had just messed with G00ngus's shrine(Trophy Wall) of them not even an hour ago. There was no doubt in their mind the moment G00ngus found out about their little stunt the man would be coming for them to get his revenge. It was rather normal for them to go back in forth over messing with each other for "revenge" so Red wasn't too worried; they just didn't want a repeat of that one time in the caves.
Red wandered around their home aimlessly for about half an hour more before they heard the sound of rushing footsteps and clanking armor. "Red!" G00ngus yelled charging towards them from the distance sword in one hand and a half-eaten potato in the other. Red pulled out their own sword in an instant taking a defensive position in order to block any upcoming attacks from G00ngus. Swinging at Red's right side G00ngus brought his sword down on them with as much force as he could muster. Red, who has fought the guy dozens of times, immediately realized something was wrong.
G00ngus's attack was much weaker than normal. Before Red could question it G00ngus struck once more this time from above and kept on striking from every angle he could. Each strike had less strength behind it than the last. Not only that but G00ngus was hardly making an effort to block Red's attacks which is really sloppy even for him. Done with the fight Red kicked up some snow from the ground into G00ngus's face before making a run for it. After wiping the snow from his face G00ngus raced after Red as fast as he could which again wasn't as fast as he normally was.
"What's up with you Goon?" Red yelled as loud as they could while they ran. "What do you mean what's up with me? Everything's fine!" G00ngus yelled back, slowing down with every step he took. Red rolled their eyes changing their direction from down the mountain to their house, "Everything's definitely not fine! Your fighting so far has been garbage! I bet a baby Villager could fight better than you!"
G00ngus's running soon slowed to a stop by one of the many trees. "Excuse me?", he angrily questioned. Noticing the lack of footsteps Red stopped running and turned to face him making sure there was enough distance for them to get away if the chase started up again," You heard me! Look at you! Even with that stupid pumpkin on your head, you look like you can barely stand! You're swaying on your feet for Big Ghost's sake!"
G00ngus was in fact swaying slightly on his feet. Upon hearing Red's words he put a hand on the nearby tree in an attempt to steady himself. "I've no idea what you're talking about Red. Who is swaying on their feet? What even is swaying?" G00ngus said panic evident in his voice. Red had an unamused expression on their face in response to G00ngus's words before letting out a heavy sigh.
"When was the last time you slept Goon?" Red asked with a tone a bit softer than before. G00ngus stiffened immediately standing up straight on his own two feet no longer leaning on the tree for support. "Sleep?" G00ngus said nervously, "What makes you think it has to do with sleep?" Red gave him a pointed look and crossed their arms before answering, " Well considering you just ate something rather recently I doubt it's hunger and you're far too aware to be under any kind of potion effect that leaves sleep deprivation as the only other answer. So when was it G00ngus?"
"I don't see how that's any of your business Red," G00ngus snapped at them. "I don't care if it's my business or not. I want you to answer my question. Now." Red said rather harshly, glaring at the barely standing man. "Sunday..." G00ngus said hesitantly.
'Sunday?' Red thought,' It was currently Tuesday while that wasn't exactly healthy it wasn't too ba-' "Last Week..." G00ngus finished. "Last week! Goon what the fuck! That's way too long! Even for me and I don't even need sleep to survive!" Red yelled abandoning their safe distance in favor of approaching G00ngus.
Noticing the sudden movement G00ngus raised his sword as best he could which was only a foot off the ground. Red took out their own sword and in one powerful strike knocked G00ngus's weapon from his hands before lifting him up by his armpits and flinging him over their shoulder. G00ngus began to struggle against Red's tight hold trying to free himself and get away. Red only tightened their grip on the struggling man. "Cut it out G00ngus. I'm not going to do anything to you however you will be coming back to my house with me where you will be taking a very long nap" Red ordered leaving no room for argument in their words.
Instead of calming down at the promise of no harm like Red thought he would, G00ngus began struggling even more. "No! I'm not going to sleep! Especially not with you around! Besides, I still need to get my revenge!" G00ngus yelled. "Too bad," Red replied," Tell you what. If you stop struggling and take a nap at my house I will return my head and let you get a few free hits on me in the name of your revenge once you wake up. If you don't I'll just hit you with weakness potions until you pass out. So which will it be?" Red asked.
Immediately G00ngus stopped struggling and went limp against their shoulder. Red smiled," Good choice." Once Red was sure G00ngus would stay still they began walking towards their house. They walked in relative silence the entire time. G00ngus really didn't want to try sleeping again considering the nightmares he's been having but Red's shoulder was rather comfortable despite being pure metal. A few hours couldn't hurt and at least he would get the head for the trophy wall back.
G00ngus soon slipped into a very peaceful dreamless sleep for the first time in a very long while. The sound of light snores soon echoed in Red's ears. Letting out a quiet laugh they made their way to their door opening it before heading inside and pacing G00ngus down on a bed. "Goodnight Goon," Red whispered quietly as they covered the already sleeping man with a warm fuzzy blanket, not even trying to remove the pumpkin. After all, the guy must have a pretty valid reason to be wearing it for as long as he has.
