4: Planning a Wedding
“Egon!” I heard Janine cry at the door. I groaned and pulled the covers over myself so I didn’t have to get up. If only that would work, but it didn’t. She stormed over and pushed me off the bed and I laid on the ground wide awake looking up at Janine who was smiling. “Good you’re up. Now get dressed. We have a big day ahead of us.”
Before I could answer she skipped out of the room and I sat up. I sighed and changed quickly so I could keep my head on like it was. I walked down to see Janine waiting for me. She dragged me down the street for some odd reason.
“Janine where are you taking me?” I asked her. She smiled at me and kept leading me down the street.
“We have a wedding to plan silly!” she cried and I sighed. I remembered then that I had to get married. I smiled and tried to get my mind off of Natalie and her problem.
I followed Janine into a flower shop and let her pick out whatever she wanted. She did ask me what I wanted, but I gave her a completed answer and she hit me. So I just sat back and watched. In fact, that was all I did while Janine planned the wedding. She got the cake, the flowers, her dress, everything. I was starting to wonder why she even brought me along.
“So are you ready?” she asked me. I looked over at her unsure of what she was thinking.
“What do you mean am I ready?” I asked. “What do I have to be ready for?”
“To buy me lunch than we will pick out the ring,” she answered. “I don’t know much about it, and you know some metal makes my skin green. I need you to pick out the ring.”
“Oh, alright.”
We walked into the restaurant to get lunch. I saw a few people in here, but not many. We got a table and sat down, both of us ordering and I sat across from her.
“So how are you Egon?” she asked me trying to create small talk. I smiled at her and took her hand making her blush.
“I’ve been trying to save my sister from the hassle of being a ghost,” I answered sighing. “I’ve also been spending him with the prettiest lady on the planet.”
“That is so sweet!” she cried has the food was placed in front of us. “So Egon, I was thinking about Natalie’s curse also. She once promised me that she would spend the day with me. Maybe that is what the promise was.”
“I’ll have to see. But I really do what to get my mind off of Natalie. Today is just you and me. We have the wedding to plan and we have some time to get some time together or else we won’t be tired of each other later on.”
“Did Egon Spengler just make a joke?” Janine asked me.
“I might have,” I said smiling. She laughed at me and I laughed with her.
“I think you have been spending too much time with Natalie,” she told me wiping tears out of her eyes. “You might start growing a ponytail if you keep this up!”
“I like my pompadour thank you very much.”
“I like it too. I wouldn’t want you to change it any time. I wouldn’t want you to change at all if that was up to me. But it’s not, it’s up to you.”
“Well, true.”
“So you ready to go pick out the ring?” Janine asked standing up. I nodded and paid for our lunch and we walked out to the ring store.
I looked at all the rings, all the prices. I knew that I had to get one that showed her that I cared, and that wouldn’t turn her finger green. I finally picked one out that had a good sized diamond on it, but the metal wouldn’t do anything to her skin. It wasn’t too pricy, and Janine loved it. I bought one for her to put on my finger, and we headed back home. I saw Ecto 1 wasn’t in the garage, and Louis seemed to be out. Janine smiled at me.
“Looks like we are alone,” she said wrapping her arms around me. I heard someone clear their throat and we both looked up to see Natalie floating above our heads.
“I’m here you two,” she spoke up making Janine and I laugh. Natalie floated down in front of us and saw Janine’s ring. “Oh Janine, it’s beautiful!”
“Thank you,” she said looking at it also. She had it in the box since we had to wait till we said out vows to put it one. “Egon picked it out.”
“Well isn’t he a good picker of jewelry?” she asked. She lifted up the necklace she left Janine in her will and smiled. “He picked that one out also.”
“Then I guess I will use him for all my jewelry needs,” Janine laughed. I smiled and shrugged.
“I’m a man of many talents,” I told the two. They both laughed at me since they were my sister and my bride to be.
We all went upstairs and sat down to watch a movie. It was a while before the guys came back, and the day was done right after that. It was an amazing day, but tomorrow I had to get back to work to the problem at hand.
I FINALLY FINISHED THE CHAPTER! I’m so sorry it was a long wait. I’ve been busy and I’ve had major writer’s block. The other book has chapters written in it, but this one does not. So I hope this was worth the wait! That’s all I have to say today. Peace out my Stars!
