1: The Problem

We all looked has Natalie laid down on her bed. Well more like a few inches above her bed, but she was still there. She sighed and looked sadly up to the ceiling.

“Egon,” Ray whispered. We had a huddle up didn’t want Nat to hear. “What are we going to do?”

“Well if we get the promise fulfilled,” I started, “Nat can pass on to the next life. If we don’t she’ll be doomed to wonder the Earth until she keeps it.”

“So what do we do?” Winston asked.

“We can’t let her stay has a ghost,” Peter put in. “She doesn’t deserve to be a ghost.”

“Peter’s right,” Ray agreed. “So we have to find out what the promise was.”

“Nat!” Peter called and she looked over.

“Yes?” she asked floating up. She looked like she was standing, but her feet didn’t touch the floor.

“Do you have any idea what the promise was?” he asked and she sighed.

“If I did would I be here asking for your help?” she asked back.

“Good point,” Winston said. “Did they at least tell you who it was to?”

“They said one of my friends that I worked with,” Nat answered. “They didn’t say which one, just that I should go talk to them. I thought they were crazy.”

“Why?” I asked. She laughed.

“If I didn’t say anything you four would have given me a one way ticket to the Condiment Unit. It is rebuilt, right?”

“Yeah it is,” Ray answered, “and sorry about that. We didn’t know it was you.”

“It’s fine Ray,” she told him with a smile. “I’m not in the Unit so I’m not upset. But I am a little mad about you all hitting me with the streams! That really hurt!”

“We’ll make it up to you by helping you pass on,” I told her taking her hand. “I’m so glad I get to see you again.”

“I’m glad Ligen is gone,” she replied hugging me. “Now he can’t hurt you anymore.”

“Guys!” we heard Janine yell up at us.

“Oh no,” I sighed. “I don’t know how she will feel about seeing you!”

“Just go down and talk to her. If she wants to see me then I’ll come down.”

“Alright,” we told her and ran down the stairs. I saw Louis and Janine talking putting their coats up and seemed to have a good time. Slimer was still grumbling about Nat being two classes higher than him.

“Hey guys,” Louis said. He was getting better at Nat’s death, but it was still bothering him. “What’s up? It looks like you’ve seen a ghost. Well of course you have, but still.”

“Well we have,” Peter said slowly. “And it wasn’t Slimer. We have a little visitor.”

“Then get rid of it!” Janine cried. “The last time you guys had a visitor in the night it took Egon away!”

“Janine,” I spoke up hugging her, “you’ll like this one.”

Before anyone could speak we heard a cry. The floor before us was empty besides Ecto 1. Then someone fell through the floor above us and then down to the basement. We all started at the spot and Janine and Louis gasped.

“Was that Natalie?” Louis asked.

“Um, yeah,” Winston answered with a smile. Louis and Janine looked at each other and ran down the stairs to the basement. We followed and looked around. I didn’t see her anywhere.

“Oh no!” Ray cried looking at the Unit. “You don’t think that she…?”

“I don’t know,” I answered and then I heard a moan. We turned around and Natalie sat up from the floor rubbing her head. “Nat what did you do?” I asked her.

“I fell,” she grumbled looking up. “Went through the floor.”

“Natalie,” Louis sighed. “You’re here.”

“Yeah,” she said floating up.

“That is amazing,” Janine told her. Natalie smiled.

“Well I am the same, but I can just do a few more things. Like fly,” she said rising up in the air higher and higher. “I can also go through walls and things,” she said sticking her hand through the wall. “Hell if I wanted to I could make ectoplasm!”

“You can?” Ray asked. Natalie sighed and in the palm of her hand she made a blue looking slime and she smiled. She stood in front of us and threw it at Peter.

“Yuck!” he yelled has she laughed.

“Looks like all ghost just love sliming you Pete,” she told him laughing. Then she went through the floor. “Dammit!” I heard her yell. She flew up again and looked at us. “I’m never going to get used to this!”

“If we have any say on this, you won’t have to get used to it,” Winston told her. Natalie smiled and she hugged Louis and Janine.

“I really have missed you all,” she told us. “Being dead isn’t fun.”

“Well let’s figure out what this promise is and then get you back to resting in peace,” Peter replied making us laugh. She smiled and thought about it.

“Well I made a promise to each and every one of you guys,” she told us. “All of them were small.”

“Well it would have to be big if they won’t let you leave,” Ray put in.

“I know,” she sighed. “What could be so big that I can’t rest?”

“I don’t’ Nat,” I told her taking her hand in mine. “But we’ll get you to rest. You saved Janine’s life, and you deserve to rest.”

“I just wish I didn’t have to leave you all,” she told us sadly. We all nodded and I looked at the time. The phone started to ring and we all sighed. We had worked to get to so we had to put Nat’s problem on hold.

That’s the beginning of the last book! It’s sad, isn’t it? I kind of just want to cry. Oh well. So let’s make this one the best book ever! Peace out my Stars!
