Lately,

I have heard, and read,

The words of many.

Of hearts broken,

Of trust betrayed,

Of throats constricted,

Of pathways lost,

The cost of trust.

We must remember,

Trust is an investment,

A risk like any other,

We expect a return

On our investment,

Regardless

Of how the market

Moves.

The whole of life

Is a gamble,

Yet, when we invest our trust,

We expect to win,

With each throw of the dice.

Not thinking

For one second,

That someone has to lose.

So, remember, please,

When you next do invest,

That the object of your trust

May be playing a different game.

Taking risks is a part of life,

Just remember, please,

The value of your investments,

may go down, as well as up.
