A Living World

As ferocious winds rage across the seas

Causing chaos and destruction as they roam.

As earthquakes rip cities apart

Leaving death and homelessness.

Think ye not

That these are acts

Of malicious omnipotence,

Or idle Olympian hands.

We perch upon a living rock,

Which, like the cosmos

Changes, and develops

By the minute.

Ice ages have come, and gone,

Deserts encroach, and recede.

Mountains rise and fall,

As do the oceans.

We humans have some answers

In our hands,

We can dispose of greed

And protect our lands.

If we have the will.

Owain Glyn

A/N My heart goes out to all those that have been affected by the recent natural disasters.

We should treasure our home, not rape it. The planet will continue to develop. It is our job

To develop with it.
