A Helping Hand
Draco and Harry had cuddled almost all the time after the funeral Draco had for his parents. Harry couldn't get it out of his head that Draco could forgive his father so easily after he was so close to killing him.
But now, now Harry and Draco had to face the fact that Harry had to defeat Voldemort. Whether he died or not. He had already had the horcrux inside of him killed, and now all that was needed was Nagini.
Harry and Draco got dressed, got their wands, and headed upstairs. They went outside to apparate, wanting to see flowers and peace before facing darkness.
Draco wrapped his arms around Harry's waist and kissed him soundly. "Just incase if anything happens today." Harry nodded and turned his head to deepen the kiss.
Draco released from the kiss after a few minutes to press a kiss to Harry's forehead and give him a tight squeeze. He apparated then both away to the school grounds, where swarms of students were preparing for the fleet of death eaters.
"Go. I love you, Harry. I'm going to see what I can help with." Draco told him.
Harry didn't care that people were watching. He grabbed Draco and kissed him more passionately than any other kiss they shared. Harry released from the kiss and looked Draco in the eye.
"I love you too."
Draco grinned at him, then the two ran to opposite directions of the school. Harry went to figure out his plan to kill Voldemort while Draco ran to help prepare everyone as best as he could.
He soon found teachers scattered around casting only three protection charms. He ran over to McGonagall and Slughorn.
"My god, who let him in here?" Slughorn asked terrified as he turned, breaking off his enchantments.
"No, sir listen to me. I am not on their side. I never was. My father made me do what I did. And I apologize, but right now we have to talk about your protection strategy. What charms are you using?" Draco asked hurriedly as he got his wand out.
"Protego Maxima, Repello Inimicum, and Fianto Duri." Slughorn replied.
"Sir, could I give some suggestions?" Draco asked. Slughorn raised his eyebrows at him.
"I suppose," he said.
Draco turned to the shield. "Protego Totalum." He said loudly, causing a blue light to erupt from his wand and go to the sheild. The barrier around Hogwarts instantly looked more protective.
"Salvio Hexia." The shield turned a light blue color, then let a small ripple run through it before it hit the ground.
"Why did you do?" McGonagall asked.
"Sir, ma'am, I used Protego Totalum because it protects longer and better than Protego Maxima. And, you're going up against Death Eaters. You're going to need Salvio Hexia, which deflects hexes. Now, if you get everyone to cast those two as well as everything else, you should have a stronger shield." Draco told them.
"Do as he says. Split up, tell everyone what to do." McGonagall demanded Slughorn.
"Yes ma'am," Slughorn said, then ran off. McGonagall went in another direction.
Draco turned back to the shield. "Protego Totalum...Salvio Hexia...Repello Inimicum...Fianto Duri," he began to chant.
