Part 7
As I walked onto campus, other students were already filling in. Toshinori, or All Might now that we hit campus, had to leave cause of a staff meeting, so I had to find the class all by myself. It was very overwhelming. My heart started to race which made be grip my bag strap harder. My throat ran dry and my chest began to tighten, until I heard my name being called behind me.
"Y/n!" I look and see the cute green haired boy from yesterday. "Hey!" He finally caught up to me and stopped to catch his breath. "H-hey, sorry, I thought I saw you but I wasn't sure, ugh," He took one last deep breath and straightened up, "So, are you excited? School, only started less than a week ago, so everyone here is still just as new to this as you are."
"I'm pretty excited! Still a bit nervous though, this is the first time I'm in an actual school. I've never been to one before." He looked to me in confusion, as we continued to walk.
"What? You've never been to a school before?" I internally yelled at myself for letting that slip.
"O-Oh, no, I- mean that, I was homeschooled, teachers would be sent to my place, my parents had...protective problems." Please don't ask anymore questions about it.
"Ah, I get it, well, don't worry, I hope you have the best time here. Look! We're already here!" We were standing in front of a huge open door. Everyone inside was all riled up. A spiky haired blonde guy was yelling at some red headed boy and another guy with glasses who was throwing some sort of straight arm gesture at him. A group of girls were chatting in the corner of the room. A group of three guys were looking at the girls with gross perverted faces, and some other guys were at their desks minding their own business. "They are very energetic, but they're all pretty cool, come on." He leads me to his seat and gestures to a desk next to his. "It's empty." I place my stuff down and sit. The bell rings and everyone quickly shuffles to their seats silently.
I jump as that familiar yellow sack jumps from behind the podium. "Good morning, everyone," When did Mr. Aizawa get there? "Today, I have some announcements to make, I want to introduce you to our new transfer student." He looks me and gestures a spot next to him. I nervously stand up and walk over next to the podium. Everyone gave surprised gasps and murmurs between each other. I turned and faced the class.
"H-hi, my name is l/n, y/n. I just moved here. It's s nice to meet all of you." My nerves were shot through the roof as I lied about my background until Mr. Aizawa approved and let me go back to my seat.
"You did great!" Midoriya whispered to me with a thumbs up. A blush was trying to make its way to my face, but I held it back and just smiled with him.
"Now, next week, we will be heading to the USJ to test you on rescue training I'm telling you this so you can continue to train harder on and off campus. Speaking of tests, your new classmate was tested last night."
"What?" I wondered out loud. Everyone looked confused.
"Yup. Even right now. You passed." He said. I don't understand what he is getting at.
Just then, All Might, Principal Nezu, and Midnight walked in, shutting the door behind them. 'What is going on??' Even the other students were growing as confused as I was. Nezu was set on top of the podium, the lights went out and a projection switched on.
"This is important everyone, so listen up." The principal smiled. "We're just gonna get right to it. Y/n is not a transfer student,"
'What is he doing?! '
"but was a prisoner from Tartarus, a prison for high level criminals. We needed to make sure y/n is trustworthy. She was ordered to not to use her quirk at all and listen to what we said. Last night I had given Midnight 5k dollars to take her out and buy a new wardrobe and set up for her new home. If she had ran off with the money or used her quirk, or told anyone who she was, she would have been taken down, and sent right back."
'Ah shit.' Almost every one was eyeing me out of worry and fear, even Midoriya. It hurt to say the least.
"We put her in many situations where she could have done either of those, thankfully she didn't. Watch." Then the projection played a video of me and Midnight shopping and having fun, as if I wasn't just taken out of prison, and then when Aizawa attacked us. Then it switched to a camera in the taxi car with me and the driver. It was near the radio so I never would have noticed it. It was like watching a movie, even when I was hobbling to the apartment building. After I fainted, Midnight came around the corner, as if she wasn't just in a fight. And that was it.
'A 15 minute video of fucking betrayal if you ask me. Was she really just doing all that for a test?' Some students gasped in awe, but I was too bothered by the video, that I couldn't tell. The projection ended and the lights turned back on.
All Might spoke up. "She was put away many years ago, and Principal Nezu brought her here to give her another chance. Though you may all be worried and not agree, please, just work with us. She has proven to be a good student. You can trust when I say, she has earned my trust."
A boy with blonde hair with a dark lighting streak in it asked, "What was she put away for though?" The staff was quiet, but Aizawa spoke up.
"She was put away for the murder of 89 villains." The class erupted in confused and scared roars, jumping out of their seats. Along with Midoriya, who I didn't have to look up to know the look of horror on his face. "Settle down! She's not gonna hurt any of you."
"Yeah? But she killed people! We don't know what she could do! Everyone, stay back!" A girl with big black hair argued.
"Y/n, come on." I didn't realize All Might came up to me until he rested his hand on my back. I got up as he lead me out as they continued yelling things about me. Neither of us talked, even when we got to a door labeled 'teacher's lounge'. We sat on the couch in the empty room. I continued to look at the ground. "I'm sorry. We didn't know they would react that way-"
"-How could you not!" I yelled, looking up at him, "I thought it would have stayed a secret until it came out somehow later down the line like everything does and I would have been ready by then, but what were you all thinking putting me in the middle of all that and thinking everyone would just be okay with it by just blurting it out?! 'Hey kids, let's start the day by giving you guys an ex convict classmate who was put away for murder, make sure to be friends!!'" I mocked, but didn't know I was crying till the sight of him got distorted. He sighed and brushed away my tears.
"Listen, I'm so sorry. It wasn't well thought out, but we knew it would have been close to impossible by keeping it a secret, so we thought bringing it out in the open would just be ripping off the band-aid. If we left it a secret, and they found out after so long of getting to know you, they would have been more angry and confused than they are now, and the end result would not be pretty. The Principal, Aizawa, and Kayama are trying to explain to them of you and your situation right now." His voice was sad yet gentle. "You have to believe me, everything will work out, it has to." I sighed and nodded reluctantly.
I understand why it has to be done, I just feared what would happen when I get back, because that's still my class. He patted my head and went to go make some tea. A long time had passed of us sitting in silence and drinking tea and the door opens. Here comes one of the people I didn't want to see. Midnight.
