Part 21

Five days......five days had passed since Y/n was held in jail, and put through court. On the first day, the students were sworn to keep secret of what happened in USJ and to never mention Y/n's name outside of school grounds, or to anyone else on campus who wasn't apart of the incident. Afterwards, the students, and teachers apart of the incident, were forced to write a statement on the it, and write a separate note about Y/n and her actions during and before the event, on her behalf in the court. Everyone's, except Bakugo's of course, were positive.

After three awkward days of school going by normally had passed, on the fourth day, all the statements have been evaluated and processed with the court, and was used to sway the jury's decision thanks to the chief of police, who chose to be lenient with her because of all that had happened and her cooperativeness.

On the fifth night, Y/n was released and sent back to the apartment building, where All Might was waiting for her inside of the lobby with a worried Higashi. The girl was let out of the cop car by two policemen, and was walked inside the building. Her head was still low, yet you could still see the sadness and remorse on her face. When they removed her handcuffs from behind her, All Might, in his muscular form, and the receptionist ran to her, falling their knees and wrapped their arms tightly around her. She stared wide-eyed in shock as they stayed like that. The officers left and the three were left alone in the lobby. All Might pulled back and looked at her.

"I'm so glad you're okay."

Y/n started to tear up. "B-but- why? I murdered people, and almost threw away everything you and Principal Nezu risked for me."

Higashi pulled away and left back for her desk to work to give them both some privacy.

"Y/n, what happened back in the USJ was strictly circumstantial. You had to do what you had to do to survive and save the others. We don't know what would have happened if they succeeded in subduing you, managed to get you to their side, and then going to do who-knows-what to the other students. You protected yourself, and then risked your life to save the others, even though you were about to die yourself. You did all that, while influenced by insanity. All those things were definitely not overlooked by the jury. You are more deserving of freedom and forgiveness than anyone I know Y/n. So please, don't hurt yourself over this one event."

Tears fell from her eyes like water falls as she cried and wrapped her arms around the hero's neck, wetting his shoulder.

As I cried, he picked me up and walked us up to our apartment, all the while comforting me. I stopped when we reached the living room couch and laid on my side. He transformed back down into his weaker state, put a blanket on me, turned on the t.v, and stoked my hair until I was finally done sniffling the last of my tears away. For I don't know how many hours, we stayed on that couch watching whatever was on in a calming silence. We did that for the rest of the weekend.

Suddenly feeling the urge to wake up, I opened my eyes and saw I was alone in my dark room. The clock on my nightstand showed it was 4:12 am. Way too freaking early. I still had a couple hours until I had to wake up and leave for school.

"Well, I'm wide awake now and don't want to go back to sleep, so....I guess...time to....do something I suppose." I huffed. Hopping out of bed, I remembered there is a pool on the roof, so I stripped into a bikini and a t-shirt just in case anyone is up there. Though I doubt it. I grabbed a towel, my key card and carefully walked out of my room.

Everything was dark, but the moon shining through the windows was more than enough to illuminate the main hallway for me. Heavy snoring rumbled from one of the doors. Good, that means Toshinori is still asleep. Not wanting to wake him, I carefully walked down the hall and stealthily out the door.

Every hall and stairway was empty and illuminated by soft yellow lights. Nothing, and no one, was up and about, especially on top of the roof. Though the sight was breathtaking.

"Oh my gosh..." The moon was full and bright, casting blue light on everything it could, even the water. The pool itself looked alive with bright blue and white strings of light. In no time at all, I put my stuff on a chair, ran, and jumped into the pool with a laugh. Though the night made it freezing cold, I couldn't help but feel alive and refreshed by the sudden change in temperature. I swam and swam until I got lost within it all. It was so much fun that I didn't want to stop. Unfortunately I had to when I noticed the sun slowly starting to rise.

"Fun's over I guess." I dried off quickly, got through everything with the key card and was finally back inside and spotted my guardian on the couch once more with a coffee in his hands. "Morning Toshi."

"Morning short stack. Have fun without me?"

"Yeah sorry, you were just so busy sawing logs earlier that I didn't want to disturb you."

He chuckled. "Do I really snore that loud?" I patted his shoulder.

"Let's just say, we should be happy the entire building is soundproof between each apartment."

After some more jokes, I showered, dressed, and headed back out after he transformed. It was kind of nerve racking for me because I couldn't stop thinking about Izuku and his face when the Chief showed him the photos of what I had done. Though, I'd have to find out till later, cause on the way to the school, I hadn't seen him walking today.

'I can only hope he's already there so I could talk to him.' I thought solemnly.

We get to the school, separate, and I make my way back to the class. When the door opens, my heart flips when I see him sitting at his chair. His head was in a book that I hadn't recognized before, it must be new. Whatever it was, he was writing very intensely in it. It was really early still so it was just me and him in the classroom. I walk over and sit in my seat next to him.

"Hey Izuku-"

He jolts when he hears me and quickly covers his book. "O-o-h h-hey!"

"You're here early."

"Y-yeah...." I  can't help but notice him trying to not make eye contact. Usually he's trying to look me in the eye, but not now. He's not even blushing, just sweating profusely. His hands are trembling as he quickly puts the book away deep in his bag far from my sight.

"...Izuku...are you okay?" I ask wearily.

"...Uh...ye-yeah. Just tired...." Slowly he brings his arm up to his head and turns away from me, and says nothing else. I can no longer see his eyes.

'Is he trying to ignore me?' I thought. 'The only reason he would be ignoring me would be because of.....what I did.....' Solemnly, I leaned on my desk and stared at the desk on the opposite side of me and didn't persist to question him.

After a small while, someone people came in and ran up the me, catching me off guard. "L/n! Thank goodness your back! Are you okay?" Uraraka yelled, hugging me tightly. It was so hard to breathe, her arms were wrapped around my neck, slowly choking the life out of me.

'I'm feeling a little light headed!'

"Uraraka! Get off! You're gonna kill her, her face is turning blue!" Hagakure cried, pulling the brunette off of me. Taking in a deep breath, I sighed in relief.

"T-thank you, I'm fine. How were all you guys?" I smile.

Tsu, Kaminari, Yaoyorozu, and Ashido were here. "Oh we were fine! We were mainly worried about you. We are so sorry we couldn't get to you on time."

I shook my head. "No, it's not your fault guys. I shouldn't have tried to take them all on, on my own. What happened in the back was all my fault, and I'm sorry I caused you all so much trouble."

Yaoyorozu patted my back. "Don't think like that, you didn't cause any of us trouble. We're your friends! We're just glad you're here and that you're okay." The others agreed.

They do know how to cheer me up. "Thanks guys. You're the best." For the rest of the day, everything went by normally- despite the awkward silence every time I tried to talk to Izuku. Each time I tried to confront him, he would say he was busy with something and run off. Just watching his back as he'd run off reminded me of when we first me on the beach. Except this time, it felt like a piece of my heart would break off when ever he refused to talk to me.

I tried to not think about it by busying myself with class work, and managed to get all the homework done in each class before they were over. With all my work done, I again had nothing to distract myself from the cold feeling on the left of my body. My eyes shifted to the left of me. Where Izuku's seat was.
