Astrid

As Stormfly and I helped the Dragon Paradise Villagers to safety, I was thinking about Tames. Was he ok, going after Ryker all by himself?

Fishlegs interrupts my thoughts and said, "You thinking about Tames, aren't you, Astrid?"

"Yeah, To be honest, I'm nervous." I replied.

Ingrid said, "Don't worry. My father would be all right, you see. There is no way that anything bad happens to him. He's the Chief of this tribe and he kind of raised Hiccup when Stoick banished him."

Fishlegs groans, "Don't remind me! I still can't believe that this is Hiccup's other home. It seems unreal that Dragons and Vikings actually co-exist together, not fighting."

Ingrid laughs at the comment, "You should've seen Hiccup and Toothless's first reaction when they saw the village for the first time! It was a shock for them and now they're part of the tribe."

As I was thinking of what Ingrid had said, Toothless and Hiccup managed to defeat the Dragon Queen by using one of Toothless's Plasma Blast into her mouth to cause an massive explosion.

I was covered by Stormfly's wings as the explosion covered most of the island.

 As the dusk clears, I see the familiar black Night Fury and his Rider.

Hiccup

It was hard to accept the harsh reality that Tames isn't going to be back. Ryker seems to be in the clearing as the dusk of the Dragon Queen's ashes dimmers along with the Riders of Berk sees me and Toothless standing.

"Hiccup!" Astrid cries as she quickly tries to run towards me for an embrace, but Stoick holds her back.

"This battle is between Ryker and Hiccup. We can't go any further." Stoick said.

Ryker laughs at me as seeing me irate was one of his amusements.

"What you going to do, Hayden Haddock? The man was so kind and now he's dead!" He said.

As my instincts kicked in, my instinct response was to attack him, and I'm not doing for revenge for Tames.

It wasn't what Tames would've wanted. I am fighting for the people I cared about, for being there for Ingrid, Dragon Paradise and my original home, the home that I was banished from, Berk.

  I thought about Tames, his kind generous appearance, the way he let me and Toothless settled into the tribe, making new friends and new adventures with the Dragon Academy team.

As I heard the sound of Ryker's sword was out of his grasp, I put the sword towards him and Toothless was standing with me at my side, growling at the man who murdered the Chief of Dragon Paradise.  

Ingrid

Is it really over? Did we win? Hiccup said, "Ryker, I want you and your men to leave Berk and Dragon Paradise alone.

If you dare step into them, you would not be easily treated nicely. Do you understand these terms?"

The man looks at him with utter defeat, "Yes. I understand these terms, Hayden Haddock."

Hiccup looks directly at the man's eyes with pure hatred. "Good. Then leave."

The man nods as he sails away from our island as the sixteen year old nods that we won the battle, but something else was bothering him.

"Hic, what's wrong? The look on your face tells me that something bad has happened." I said.

The Black Night Fury and Rider exchanged looks, as if they were debating on who would tell me something. Stoick seems to know about it as well, as he handed a scroll.

Hic took it from him as he walks back to his hut.

Astrid

I followed Hiccup to his Hut, which he was quite startled by my appearance.

"A-Astrid! What you doing here?" He asks in total surprise, still holding on the piece of scroll that he had gotten from Stoick.

I replied, putting my hands to my hips, "Hiccup, what's with the secrecy? You can't keep it from your love ones."

He sighs, knowing that I was right.

"Come on in and I will tell you." He replied as he opens the door to his hut.

The inside of his hut has a lot of blueprints of future inventions and has a picture portrait of Ingrid, Skylar, and the Dragon Academy hanging in the center of the room.

"Hiccup, tell me what's wrong." I said as he poured a cup of tea and offer it to me.

"On the battlefield, I got a glimpse of Tames fighting Ryker. And something happened. He... got killed by Ryker."

I gasped in horror. "Hiccup, I'm so sorry."

"I didn't want Ingrid to know that just yet. It'll break her heart and I just can't bear of breaking the news to her. She might go insane and want revenge on the man who killed her father. I can't let her do that. That's not what Tames would've wanted."

I smiled, "It seems like you gained a lot of wisdom since I last saw you, Hiccup. Tames taught you well. But what is that scroll that Stoick gave you?"

"I really don't know. I haven't opened it yet. It's going to be weird of hearing Tames's last words though."

I said, "Hey, it's all right. I'm here to support you all the way."

He unrolls the scroll and it said:

"Hiccup, I know that our time together made you felt right at home, a place to fit in.

The most treasured memories we had is the memories we'll never forget in our hearts. Ingrid needs you, as you need her.

As for Ingrid to be a Chiefness, I am not ready to let her go on that road yet.

You, Hiccup, had shown me that you are a true leader and know how to handle the situation at hand.

That is why I want you to be the true Chieftain of the tribe.

Stoick had agreed to adopt Ingrid to keep her safe from harm.

I know that this is a lot to take in on your grasp, my friend, but I had seen no other person to keep the tribe, our tribe safe and keep the ways of the isle better than you.

- Tames"

It took us a while to digest. Hiccup was promoted to become his heir, The Chief of Dragon Paradise.

Hiccup said, "I can't believe it. I'm now the Chief of Dragon Paradise."

"Hic, You're still sixteen! Don't you think it's too soon for you to be Chief if you never was one?" I asked the young Chief.

Hiccup said, "I had heard Tames's lectures of Chief duties ever since I can remember. I would be fine as long Toothless helps me out."

"So, how we going to break the news to everyone that you're well, now a Chief?"

"I haven't the slightest idea. That's why I went here to think. Since you're here, what you think?" He asks.

I was surprised. I never advise anyone before, but Hiccup is my friend and ally.

I said, "Well, I think we should wait until everything settles down a bit, then we tell them. Besides, you been through a lot during the past year."

He smiles at me and gave me a peck kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks, Milady." He said.

I said, "Hey, anytime that you need me, I will be there. There's always a Hiccup and Astrid, no matter what life throws at us."

He smirks, "Says the girl who pretended to be a boy to save me."

"Oh, Hiccup." I sighed.
