Chapter Six

"WHERE IS SHE?! WHERE IS SHE?!" Demeter yelled furiously. "WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?" she screamed.

Olympus was in utter disarray. Demeter had interrupted a feast that was being held. Wine goblets were strewn all over the grand room. Tables were overturned on the golden floor. Food and drink were splattered on the pristine white walls. The Olympians (minus Zeus) were all cowering in the back of the room. All had learned not to get in the way of Demeter when it came to her daughter. All but one. Zeus was still foolishly holding onto his pride.

"Calm down, Demeter. It is not my fault. You can go blame someone else." the King of the Gods said. Demeter glared at him. If looks could kill, and if gods weren't immortal, Zeus would be dead in an instant.

"CALM DOWN?! CALM DOWN?! YOU ARE NOT TELLING ME WHAT TO DO! ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU ARE TO BLAME!" Demeter retorted and screamed.

"I am to blame? I AM TO BLAME?!" Zeus roared. "HOW AM I TO BLAME?! I HAVE PROTECTED OUR DAUGHTER THROUGH ALL THINGS!"

"Uh, sorry to interrupt," Athena said. "But Zeus, you can't really say that you have protected Persephone through all things because you obviously haven't protected her through this."

"Shut up, Athena. This is none of your business." Zeus replied.

"Actually, it is partially my business. Persephone is my half-sister."

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

"Geez, Dad. Someone say anger issues."

Zeus growled.

"Going! Going!" Athena replied, backing into a corner next to the other frightened Olympians. But Zeus's attitude toward Athena had sent another Olympian in a rage.

"FATHER!" Artemis hollered. "On behalf of my mother, Leto, that is no way to talk to any of your children! They should be treated with care, not yelled at!" as she was saying this, Hera shot a glare at Artemis for mentioning Leto, while Athena gave her a grateful look.

"APOLLO WHERE IS SHE?" Demeter yelled. She marched up to Apollo. "YOU ARE THE GOD OF PROPHECY! TELL ME! TELL ME!" she screamed, shaking his shoulders.

"De...Demeter, I don't know where she is! Please stop shaking my shoulders! It's not my fault!" he said, terrified that the raging mother's wrath might fall upon him.

"ARGH!" the said raging mother yelled. "No food will grow on this earth until my daughter returns safely into my arms! I swear it on the River Styx!"
