CHAPTER 27
Quackity slowly opened his eyes, feeling throbbing pain on his back and throat. The human tried to remember what had happened to him, the memories about the two strangers who appeared finally filling his head. “Oh! You're awake!” It was the stranger, Egg, who spoke. “Yeah, sorry I should have given you more of a warning before doing that to you.” The stranger sat down next to the still tense male, reaching over him towards his back. “Gold wings, peculiar for an avian. Your parents must have been very proud of you.” Quackity tensed, sitting up some from his place on the bed and looking behind him. His eyes shot wide at the sight, medium sized gold feathered wings sat on his back.
“WHAT THE HELL?!” He heard rustling somewhere else in the room, making his head shoot towards the noise. In a corner was Charlie and the other stranger, Foolish leaning against one another sleeping. But making his way towards Quackity was Sam, with guilty eyes. “W-hat is going on? Why the fuck do I have wings?” Sam sighed, sitting on Quackity’s other side, Egg, still being intrigued by his wings, was still messing with them.
“Quackity… I think we need to talk.” The creeper hybrid spoke softly, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“What do you mean?” Sam took a deep breath, looking over towards Egg who paused what they were doing.
“Um, Quackity, you remember how your parents died… and your house burnt down…” Quackity looked grim at the mention of his parents.
“If you're talking about how they were angels of death, then we don’t need to carry on this conversation.” The other general looked surprised, green eyes staring into his own looking to see if Quackity was joking.
“So… you know?” the avian looked down towards his hands, balling them together as he nodded.
“One of the men that burned my house down called us ‘Angels of Death’ and when Phil first mentioned another title the avians owned, I may have started to speculate.” Quackity paused, looking back towards his back and frowning. “Though it hurts knowing you knew and didn’t tell me.” Sam took his hand away from his shoulder after he said this, looking even more guilty. “But, I have a feeling you did it for my own safety, so I am not… totally mad at you.” Sam smiles, bringing the other into a tight hug, making sure he didn’t hurt the others new wings. “But that doesn’t explain what you did.” Quackity grumbled, leaving the hug to face the smiling person behind him.
“Oh, I’m a god! Haven’t you heard of ‘The Egg’? You’d think you would have, since he spent some time attacking the Egg kingdom.” The avian tilted his head to the other, confused what the other meant. Egg frowned, ignoring the stare and looking over towards Foolish and Charlie. “Foolish is a god too, if you don’t believe me you will in time.” They stood up facing the two afterwards. “Now, I can’t give you the ability I want to, until you master that… avian ability. But since you’ve been suppressed on that side, it’s going to take a bit.” Quackity stood next, flaring his wings out with wide eyes.
“Hey! The wings aren’t that hard to control!” Egg rolled their eyes.
“Of course they aren’t, they are a part of you. They are just like your other limbs, Quackity.” The avian frowned. “Though, it is weird they are so small, maybe they still need to grow?” Quackity did notice they were smaller than Philza’s or Tommy’s. “It may be because they haven’t been able to grow properly, I guess we will see in time.”
“Wait, you said something about an avian ability? And what do you mean you want to give me an ability?” Egg wickedly smiled at these questions.
“Well, every avian family has a certain trait they inherit. You could have gotten your mothers or your fathers ability, depending whose genes you're more close to. And for my ‘giving you a ability’ I do with every royal of the Egg kingdom, call it a tradition if you will.”
“But I’m not royalty.” Quackity mumbles. Egg frowns, crossing their arms in the process.
“I’ve accepted you as one of Sapnap’s fiancees, a future king of the Egg kingdom, you are royalty, Quackity. A future legend to the kingdom.”

Sapnap patted his horses neck as they neared the gates of the Pride kingdom, his objective finished. Eret had made plans to start secretly recruiting soldiers for the soon takedown of Dream, giving Sapnap a satisfactory report to give his parents and their allies. He had a letter with the Pride kingdom ceal in his bag, happy to be able to go home to see Karl and what progress he had gotten with his ability. Once he got back, he was sure they would be on their way quickly to the Antarctic kingdom. He couldn’t help but wonder what was in the letter, but tried to fight off his curiosity. It was for his fathers eyes only, if they saw it important enough for him to see they’d show him. He was sure that the alliance would have a discussion about what was in the latter anyways. “STOP! THIEF!” Sapnap looked behind himself, stopping what he was doing to see what the commotion was about.
That's when something he thought would never happen, happened before his eyes. An avian, flying over his head, and booking it to the gates. The dirty blond male had huge black wings, goggles sat over his eyes, he had a red sweater on, but had two weaponry holders over his chest, normal tan pants and hiking boots that covered his feet. A few knights chased after him, and Sapnap finally noticed the huge amount of gapples in his hands.
“THIEF!” A few knights that wandered this market came running, unsheathing their weapons in response to the yelling, though they themselves stopped at the sight before them. An avian, a rare thing to see. Said avian looked behind himself, smiling happily before landing, sticking his tongue out at the knights. Sapnap just watched, blinking in surprise.
“YOU!” One of the knights yelled out, pulling his bow out, reaching behind him for some arrows. The avian paled a bit, smiling nervously before grabbing one of the potion bottles on his weaponry belts and throwing it towards them, the thing blowing up in the knight's faces. The people around screamed in surprise, never seeing a potion do something like that before. Once the explosion smoke disappeared, the avian was gone. With the chaos around him, he couldn’t help but wonder who that was. He was intrigued, hoping to run into him again.

Seven Year ago. . .
It was late at night when his door had been slowly pushed open, lazy green eyes opening to see a teary eyed Tommy making his way to Dreams bed, sniffling and trying to wipe away his tears. Dream frowned, sitting up and startling the child avian. “I-I’m sorry I woke you u-up Dream.” Dream reached over the edge of the bed, scooping the seven year old up and setting the child down on the cushioned bed.
“It’s ok Tommy.” He softly spoke, wiping away said boy’s tears. “Why are you crying, Toms?” More tears flew down his face at the question.
“I-I had a nightmare.” Dream brought the other into a comforting huge, running one of his hands fingers through the blonds hair slowly. “It was so scary!” He curled in on himself, laying his head against his older brother's chest as he cried.
“Whatever it was, it won't happen ok?” Tommy hesitantly nodded, though still sniffling at crying. “Why don’t you tell me what this dream was about?” The avian was hesitant, but sat up a bit, Dream still hugging the other close though.
“I-I… You’ll be scared too.” Dream frowned, shaking his head no, once again running his left hands fingers through his hair.
“No I won't Toms, tell me what it was about ok? It helps getting over nightmares like these, ok?” Tommy again nodded, leaning his back against his brother's chest before explaining his nightmare to the other.
“W-Well, We were in a huge c-cave… and bodies l-littered the place… b-but people were also fighting! But, I was fighting you, you were on the ground… a-and I didn’t even hesitate to stab you in your stomach- Dream! I k-killed you!” More tears gushed down his face, the avian hugging Dream tight. Dream slowly hugged the other, wrapping his arms around his little brother with clouded eyes.
“I-It’s ok Tommy. You wouldn’t ever really do that, ok? It was just all a horrible dream, a dream that won't ever come true. Ok?” Still crying, Tommy nodded frantically in agreement. “Ok…”
Present. . .
Dream brought his cloak closer to himself as they rode, they had just hit the Antarctic borders and already he was freezing. He was stuck in his thoughts, mostly about what Nightmare had said the other night. It terrified him to think Tommy may hate them now. Only XD will know what the royal family of the Antarctic kingdom had told them about him. Night was right, there was no way Tommy didn’t know he wasn’t really his brother. He just hoped he hadn’t fully turned on him, that he can still salvage their close bond and still take over the world with him at his side.
It may have started out with Dream only wanting to use him for his own selfish wants, but now he wanted to rule the world with his little brother. His grip on the reins grew tighter. With every step, he grew closer to his destination, he grew closer to his objective, and he grew closer to getting his little brother back.
