CHAPTER 16
So idk what my upload schedule is gonna look like bc right now I'm going through some shit. My grandma is litterly on her death bed, like I had to stop by the hospital to say my last goodbye yesterday because they expect her to die within a few days. I was already dealing with another death, so this is just great. So again idk if I'll be updating the way I have been for a while! But with that said enjoy the chapter!
Tubbo slowly woke up from his slumber, though he barely slept last night. The thought of Dream planning something as horrible as what he had been told haunted him. He always looked up to Dream as if he was his brother, now he hated the man. Ranboo had refused to sleep anywhere else other than in the same room as Tubbo, so at the moment the goat hybrid was blinking away sleep as he stared at the enderman hybrids still sleeping face. After the story Tubbo and Ranboo had agreed to help Philza in any way they could, the other three agreed as well though. Tubbo was still angry at Quackity though. He knew about the abuse that happened to Ranboo for almost a year from what he gathered from Ranboo in their private talk, and did nothing to help the other.
It was weird to eat with the Antarctic royals, especially since almost the whole time Quackity was glaring at prince Technoblade, who was doing it back to the human. Tubbo knew nothing was going to go back to normal, and it terrified him. His father was still at the Dreamer kingdom. What if someone found out about his betrayal and used his father against him? The goat hybrid curled in on himself. This all terrified him. He was a guard, he was expected to join wars and fight battles if necessary. But he also never had to deal with something like this. Before he knew it small tears were running down his face, but arms wrapping around him startled the short male to open his squeezed shut eyes.
Ranboo still had his eyes closed, but was now hugging the other close. Tubbo let the other do this, laying his head on the enderman hybrids' slowly rising chest. “You looked like you needed a hug.” Ranboo quietly said, his voice sounding very sleepy. Tubbo smiled though, looking up towards the others' faces.
“So you’re awake?” The half and half hummed, slowly opening his red and green eyes. “Well, I don’t know when breakfast is but we may want to head down to the dining room.” Tubbo grumbled, his eyes reshutting. Ranboo again hummed, though neither bothered to move. Though they scrambled awake when their door was kicked open, a too energetic Tommy running in after.
“HEY!- oh am I interrupting something?” The avian tilted his head as he stopped his movements, staring at the now sitting up Tubbo that was trying to catch his breath, and the taller male who clung to the smaller with terrified eyes also trying to calm his breathing.
“Tommy, WHAT THE HELL?” Said boy started laughing, causing the goat hybrid to smile. “There is a thing called knocking , you know!”
“I’m sorry! I promise not to do that again. But is Ranboo ok?” Tubbo looked over towards the slowly relaxing enderman hybrid.
“Yeah he’ll be fine you just freaked him out.” Tommy frowned, giving the black and white male an apologetic look.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” Ranboo nodded in understanding, finally loosening his hold on the shorter male. “Well, Phil sent me to get you two for breakfast. Everyone else is there already.” The blond explained. Tubbo nodded slowly, wiggling his way out of Ranboos grasp before standing up. Tommy followed Tubbo out of the room, the still very sleepy Ranboo struggling to get up even after almost having a heart attack. “So?” The goat hybrid looked over to his best friend with a raised brow.
“So what?” Tommy paused, gaining an expression that screamed he was struggling with wording a sentence. “Tommy what i-”
“Are you and Ranboo a thing?” The blurted out words made Tubbo freeze. Him? And Ranboo? His cheeks dusted a light pink as he thought of that, the avian next to him raising a brow.
“Um- no we aren't a… ‘thing’.” He cleared his throat after, and almost on cue Ranboo finally dragged himself out of the room, though he clinged right back onto the brownette as soon as he did. The blond next to him raised a brow at him, obviously not believing the goat hybrid.
“Sure…” With that the three made their way to the dining room, and as they did Tubbo thought of Tommy’s question. He didn’t like Ranboo did he? Sure he found him interesting, and he likes his laugh, and he likes it when Ranboo hugs him, or holds his hand, or smiles or laughs in his directing or in general, and sure he gets protective of the other, and maybe he doesn’t like being away from the other just like Ranboo didn’t like leaving his side, but that didn’t mean he liked the enderman hybrid, right? Right?! He was reading too far into this. They’ve only known each other for a barely two weeks, he wasn’t just going to jump into it blind. If anything he’s gonna wait it out and see what happens, then decide if he likes the other or not.
“Tubbo?” The brownette snapped out of his thoughts, looking above himself to see Ranboo looking down at him with questioning eyes. “Are you ok? You spaced out.” The goat hybrid nodded, smiling to reassure his concerned companion.
“Yeah, I’m alright big man.” Tommy watched the interaction, only giving him evidence for his growing theory.

Bad was racing down the halls of their castle dragging his husband down them with him. The demon hybrid was overjoyed to hear the news his son had returned, and not alone too. Antfrost had told him about their situation, and though he felt pity for his son he was desperate to meet the one who was here, along with giving a long overdue tight hug to Sapnap. “Bad slow down I’m going to fall!” The diamond hybrid behind him whined. Bad did, coming to a fast walk so the other king could join his side.
“He’s back!” Bad once again cheerfully says. Skeppy smiles brightly, nodding along.
“I know, I was there when Ant told us.”
“Three years! We finally get to see our little hellfire again!” Bad was beaming with happiness. The king was known for his cheerful nature, but you could alway tell when he was really excited about something. Skeppy laughed at the nickname, but nodded in agreement again.
“I missed him too, Bad. And fiance’s? We’ll have to start the preparations for a wedding as soon as we overthrow Dream.” The demon hybrid glared at his husband.
“We don’t know if the prophecy is true yet, Skeppy.” The blue haired king rolled his eyes.
“I have a feeling it’s true.” Bad sighed, but he knew this was a conversation that needed to take place.
“We’ll have to let the Antarctic kingdom in on what's happening. I think it would be best if we went there ourselves, since we most likely will be attacking as a group.”
“It would be easier to plan out the assault too.” Skeppy added on. “Maybe we can even get King Eret to betray Dream?” King Eret, king of the Pride kingdom. He is a very respected leader, though his only poor trait was the fact he was in an alliance with Dream. If they had Eret on their team they’d most likely win, since the Pride kingdom was the third largest kingdom. Used to be second until the Antarctic kingdom showed up with its rapid growth.
“I’ve heard some rumors that would prove he may be willing to join our side.”
“Oh? What would one of these rumors be?” Bad smiled.
“I heard that the Dreamer king has been trying to overthrow him, for all we know those two could already be at war.” Skeppy smiled brightly at the new information.
“Well that could work in our favor.”
“Agreed.” With that the two kings pushed open their sons door, first seeing a short male sitting on their blaze sons old bed. The male awkwardly smiled, waving at the two kings as he stood up. Bad gasped, rushing forwards and squishing the males face, smiling excitedly at the other. “Oh my muffins, you're adorable!”
“T-thank you, your majesty.” The brownette managed to say through his squished face, the action making him look like a fish out of water.
“Please, call me Bad!” The demon hybrid happily corrected the other, still squishing his face and looking him over with curious eyes. Skeppy laughed, shutting the door behind them before looking over towards his son who was sitting at his desk chair watching the whole ordeal. Skeppy opened his arms up for his son, who happily got up and tightly engulfed the other. “Sappy!” The demon hybrid cheered, quickly joining the family hug. “It’s been so long, I missed you!” Once the hug ended the tall king ruffled his son's hair, a toothy smile covering his face.
“I missed you guys too.” The Blaze hybrid admits, a sweet smile taking over his face. “Though, catching up may have to take place later.” The air in the room quickly turned serious. “The prophecy was right.” Skeppy looked over towards Bad who looked sad at the news. They both knew it would be ideal to stay out of war, but if they needed to take the crazed king down before he destroyed the world then so be it.
“He’s really looking for them?” Skeppy asks, sitting down on the big bed in the room. The others that stood in space quickly followed suit, Sapnpa nodding in confirmation.
“Whats Dream looking for?” the brownette asks, looking over towards his fiance.
“Well, he’s looking for these crystals that could potentially destroy the world.” Sap explained, making the human pale at the thought. “Oh, by the way!” The blaze hybrid turned to his parents, smiling a bit as he grabbed onto the other males hand. “This is Karl, my f-”
“FIANCE!” Bad squealed. Sapnap looked over towards his diamond covered father with a raised brow.
“Antfrost told us.” He chuckled.
“I see.” Bad finally calmed down, ready to hear the rest of what his son was saying.
“Well, as I’ve said the prophecy is true. But it's far worse than what we originally thought.” Those words worried the two kings. “He kidnapped two people to potentially find these crystals, and he’s planning on attacking the Antarctic kingdom full force-”
“Wait, wait! Whoa ok go back and repeat what you said.” Bad asked, though his voice showed he was a bit peeved, hoping he heard his son wrong.
“He kidnapped two people to po-” Bad groaned, shoving his face into his hands, Skeppy patting his back as he gazed off, looking as if he was in his own thought process. Karl looked at Sapnap with a confused expression.
“Kidnapped? Kidnapped who?”
“Yeah, who?” The shorter king asked, blue eyes finally leaving the gaze of the wall in front of him to look at his son.
“Well, their names are Tommy and Ranboo-” Karl cut his fiance off quickly.
“Tommy is Dream's brother, a-and Ranboo is… is…” He actually didn’t know where the tall teen came from. He just showed up, leaving as a guard with Tubbo to get Tommy back.
“Karl.” A hand squeezed his own, making the brownette look up. “Tommy isn’t Dream's brother, there’s no way for that to be possible. I think you know that too.” Sap reasoned. Karl knew the other was right, but the fact he had kidnapped two people made him only hate the other even more. “And Ranboo was kidnapped too, I saw him coming out of the restricted area with Dream.” The time traveler’s shoulders slouched in defeat. Bad groaned, obviously not expecting these kidnappings.
“Is there more? Other than the kidnappings to get the crystals, and the full on attack on the Antarctic kingdom?” Sapnap paused.
“Well, I don’t know if it matters… but throughout the years something always bothered me about Dream, so I investigated.” The demon hybrid lifted his head out of his hands looking over towards the blaze hybrid.
“And what exactly were you investigating?”
“Well, I noticed Dream would change personalities, and would wear his mask when this happened. I accidentally saw Dreams' eyes turn from both green to miss matched red and green once, though he changed it fast enough I think he thought I didn’t see it.” Skeppy paled, Bad looking just as scared. Karl looked at the two kings with puzzled eyes.
“What? What is it?” Sapnap noticed their change in mood, now wondering if it was a big deal.
“Oh gods.” Bad stood up, heading towards the door. “I need a breather.” With that the tall hybrid left, shutting the door quietly. Skeppy turned to the two, ready to explain.
“He has… a literal high ranked demon sharing his body.” Skeppy explained. Sapnap paled at the news, Karl still confused. “Which means he’s gotta have demon related ancestors somehow… And that demon is compatible with him, which is terrifying.” Sapnap's widened, his hold on the brownettes hand tightening, though the other terrified male didn't care to notice. Dream was sharing his body with a demon?
