"butwho knows" I thought "this might just all be a big scarydream and I can close my eyes count to three and I'll be back onthe Dragon Fly with Limerickand and..."

Iclosed my eyes tightly and started counting to three slowly as Ilistened to every foot step he took to get up the stairs andthey slowly began to get quieter until there was only silence and myheart stopped and my breath got caught in my throat a small smiletook over my face I opened my eyes and looked up only to have thesmile fall from my face he smirked down at me

"wasthat smile for me sweet heart?" he teased

mybody froze and my eyes widened he continued to smirk at me as mymouth opened and closed like a gold fish

"atleast you haven't run away yet" he said

leaningagainst the banister looking down at me a smile on his face Iswallowed slowly he had some sort of weird look in his eyes and itmade me feel edgy around him I inched back quickly out of fright buthe grabbed my wrist holding it firmly in one hand he pulled me too myfeet then pulled me closer to him stapling me to his chest I tried topulled away but he didn't let me swallowing my fear I looked at himthrough narrowed eyes he smirked at me his eyes twinkling withamusement

"nownow now" he said his face turning serious "I would prefer if youstayed still because, what I'm going to tell you I won't bother totell you again later"

helet me go and I shifted backwards allowing him to come all the way upthe stairs and lean against the railing he cleared his throat I keptmy eyes narrowed him and my body shook slightly with fear andadrenaline

"myname" he said "is captain Rikardand this is my ship the Hawk" he paused as someone shoutedsomething up to him in a different language he looked behind himnodded than back to me

"whatdo you want with me?" I asked

hesmiled as he pushed himself off the railing and moved closer to mebut being scared I moved back

"theonly thing you need to know girly is what I tell you" he saidsmugly

Icrossed my arms and raised an eyebrow I stopped moving

"wellaren't you going to tell me?" I ventured

"no"he said curtly I sighed as he bit his lower lip

westood there in awkward silence neither one of us speaking nor lookingat each other

"sooowhat's your name?" he asked out of the blue my head snapped towardshim

"whywould I tell the man who just threatened to slit my throat anddecided he would just go ahead and kidnap me?" I seethed

"it'snot called kidnapping when it's a women who is being stolen" hetold me smugly

"oh,really" I said he nodded

"sooneror later kiddo" he chuckled smiling "your going to realise youwant to be here"

"pigswill fly before I will ever want to have any thing to do withpirates" I growled

"wellthen" said Rikard"they better start practising because your starting tomorrow"

"god,fine then. Navigator it is"

"ooooo"I smirked "real creative, anything else you want to add to thatcome back captain?" he huffed in anger his body tensed

"ifyou don't want to get hurt kid I suggest you stay up here andnavigate, and keep that hot shot little mouth of yours shut so I willbe the only one beating your ass later "

andwith that he turned and left walking down the stairs I froze notmoving for a few seconds before I groaned when I worked out he wasserious I walked to the very front of the ship and peered over theedge and watched the crest of the ship crash through the incomingwaves

"whathave I got myself into?" I looked up at the sky watching the cloudsmove by without a care in the world oblivious to what was happeningbeneath them sighing I looked back to the water "Limerickif I ever find you again I promise I'm going to ring your neck" Isaid to myself

Ikept staring at the sky waiting for a bolt of lightning to strike mewell it would be a much quicker and relatively painless death thenwhat I thought I was going to go through but when no bolt came Isighed deeply and hung my arms over the side letting myself getdrenched in the salt spray it burnt the wound under my chin I stayedlike that until it got dark where the cold began to bite at my skinso I snuggled down into the gap between one of the ribs of the shipand fell asleep and dreamt of the Dragon Fly and what hadbecome of her crew

Iwas awoken by someone shaking me I opened my eyes and sat up hittingmy head hard on the wood above I looked warily in the direction towhom shook me

"hello"he said in a nice voice

Ijumped letting out a small yelp of surprise I took a few calmingbreaths as we stared at each other until I came up with the courage.

"hi"I said back "who are you? wait don't tell me you will just ask myname in return?"

heshook his head "no not really every ones been encouraged by Rikardto start and keep calling you navigator"

"wellthat's not my name" I growled looking away he nodded

"Iknow but some of the people on this ship are you know"

hemade a circle around one of his ear and then made a face I couldn'thelp but smile I crawled out from where I was sleeping and stood up Icould barely see him in the dark but he was sort of bulky but notlike the captain he was as tall as me but bulkier and why the hell amI thinking about him?

"okaythen" I started "whats your name?"

"whatsyour name first?" he said he began circling me like he was avulture

"Iasked you first" I said a smile starting to appeared on my face asI watched him with my eyes

"fine"he said "Neon"

"andI'm Angel"I said after him

"niceto meet you Angel"he said

doinga mock bow my smile grew wider a smile starting to appear on his face

"I'ma ton boy" I said a hand on my hip Neoncame closer

"couldhave fooled me" he said as he turned away I smiled at his recedingwhen I was reminded of something

"wait"I said after him

heturned around to face me again just as the moon came out from behindthe clouds to reveal what he actually looked like and my cheeksflashed red he looked pretty hot

"howcome your allowed up here" I asked as he made his way towards meagain

"that'sbecause I am the first mate and that allows me certain privileges"he grabbed me and pulled me closer to him "that's why I amallowed to get close" he let go of me and moved away downthe stairs

"wow"I thought my cheeks turning crimson"I might actually enjoy beingcaptured"

Iwent back and snuggled into the gap in the ships ribs where I fellasleep in the ever increasing warmth

Iawoke when I heard the thumping of the awaking ship's crew as theystomped lazily up and down the stairs then I heard someone walktowards me and my mind jumped to that Rikardperson and I closed my eyes tightly turning slightly so none saw myface and I only hoped he wasn't here to actually beat my ass

"heyAngel"I heard someone say in a hush tone

andonly one person knew my real name I turned over stopping for a shortsecond wondering how the heck I got this blanket

"Neon?"I said blinking away the sudden blurriness of the morning

"Ibrought you breakfast" he said holding up a bowl of gruel

"thanks"I said smiling tiredly

"but"he said "your going to have to come out of there to get it"

"what?"I said

Iturned around going to slip out but pulled my self back in once thecold air of the morning bit into my skin

"noway" I said "too cold"

"chicken"said Neon

"thereare no chickens out at sea" said a booming voice causing meto jump

"yescaptain" Neonsaid quickly as he stood up again

Rikardcame striding up to where I was tucked away he looked at Neon

"nofood for her until I can see if her captain was telling the truth"

hegrabbed my wrist gently and pulled me out of the gap I internallywinced as he reignited the pain from my arms he had crushed onlyyesterday I pulled out of his grip standing straight in the cold openair I wrapped my arms around myself

"whyis it so cold?" I said

Iwas trying to stop my teeth from chattering I could see Neonstarting to smile I gave him a disapproving look and he shrugged

"that'sbecause we drifted south last night" said Rikard"now show me what you can do"

Ilooked too my kidnapper and in one smooth movement I spat down at theground and turned my back on him and shook my head I heard a gaspfrom Neon

"Itold you" I said "pigs will fly"

Ifelt something cold against my back and I swallowed hard taking in adeep and somewhat calming breath

"refusalis punishable by death" warned Rikardlowly

butstill I kept my back to him I heard a growl and he grabbed my wristand tugged me behind him Neonhad his eye brows raised. I was taken on to the deck near the mastwhere five lengths of rope laid suspended in the air Rikardgrabbed one and tied it around my ankles

"whoa"I thought

asI lost my balance and fell over then the rope began to rise taking mewith it. In about five seconds I was at Rikardseye level I glanced around and saw his crew standing around smiling

"yourgoing to hang here" he snapped gaining my attention back to him"until you change your mind"

ashe lifted it higher so that I was about 25 feet off the ground and hetied it off and walked back under the deck leaving me to dangle therein the cold air he came back up a short time later with a man infront of him

"navigate"I heard Rikardbark

Iwatched on with interest as Rikardasked him to go west and the new man nodded turning and pointingRikardyelled back to whoever was at the tilter

"theredoing it all wrong" I mumbled as the ship turned North.

Iinevitably gave in to his demands four days after my "refusal"well actually I got sick and tiered of watching the ship go in thewrong direction and I started feeling lite headed as well asextremely cold and dizzy well now that I think about it it tends tohappen when you hand upside down for too long

"navigate"he said like a broken record

Itook in a deep breath admitting my defeat I dropped my arms to mysides

"couldyou at least not sound like a broken record" I snapped

ahoarse growl was my response as walked to the front of the ship butstopped and turned back to Rikard

"wheredo you want to travel to?" I asked turning my head slightly lookingat him through the corner of my eye

"Guinevere"he said "but we have been travelling this way for weeks with nosign of land"

Ilooked up at the sky and at the rising sun then thought about the mapI had memorised on board the Dragon Fly and then I lookedtowards the person on the tilter waved making sure he was payingattention to me getting a reassuring wave back pointed to where thesun was not shining and the ship turned gently to the west I turnedto Rikardwho looked at me with interest

"thismay be a interesting journey indeed" I thought

asI went and snuggled into the gap it the ship and waited a few dayswhere I regularly came out and changed the direction the ship wassailing then later a booming voice almost blew my ear drums out

"landho" I heard someone shout

Iheard foot steps thundering up the steps as I peered out and sawRikardlooking over the front of the ship smiling to himself he looked overto me

"welcometo the crew of the Hawk" he said

"Idon't want to be on this ship" I growled to RikardI heard him snort which made a small smile appear on my face but thatsoon disappeared

"welltoo bad for you" he said

thensoon after that I heard the grating noise of sand under the bows ofthe Hawk jolting me up and down in the crevasse
