Eren sits on the grass of the house the Scout Regiment was hiding him, y/n, and Historia in as he watches the sun set.

Orange, yellow, red, blue. The colors perfectly blended together like colors mixing on a canvas. Eren tries to distract himself to the incident that happened a few weeks ago.

"I'm sorry... Do I know you?"

Eren clenched his teeth and fist as the words and memories rang through his head.

How was that possible? How could she forget? Eren thought.

The door then opened.

"Eren."

Eren looks behind him to see Mikasa.

"What is it?" he asked.

"They are finally releasing y/n from her insubordination cell time." Mikasa says.

Eren's eyes widen slightly.

"Why are they releasing her so early?" Eren asked.

"I'm not sure. I just thought you wanted to see Hanji and Levi take her out. I am sure you want to see her." Mikasa says.

She then walks away leaving the Titan-shifter boy digesting what she told him.

He got up and went inside the house. The new Squad Levi recruits aka Sasha, Connie, Jean, Armin, Mikasa, and Historia were all fooling or lounging around in the kitchen.

He opened the door to the underground area of the house that held all the cells and saw Hanji and Levi talking with each other by the stairs.

"Ahh! Eren! Came to see her today, didn't you!" Hanji greeted cheerfully.

"Yes. Mikasa told me you guys were releasing her today... I was wondering why. And of course, I wanted to see her." Eren answered.

"We will discuss why later with the others. For now, we are getting her out of her cell." Levi responded.

They then entered the chamber rooms to all the cells.

There, Eren saw y/n for the first time ever since the incident where they were almost kidnapped.

She had white clothing on that was dirty and bloody while having messy hair and a dirty and face. She was sitting down on the floor while looking down in humiliation.

She looked up from the floor and her gaze went to Eren.

Despite her being in a terrible looking state, Eren still loves her and everything about her. Maybe she may have forgotten about him but that didn't stop him.

"Hey, y/n! How are you doing? Are you feeling okay?" Hanji asked while getting the cell keys to unlock the cell door.

"I'm... doing okay." y/n answered with her voice quiet and sweet and so fragile it makes Eren's heart beat faster.

"You're being released. Get up." Levi ordered and y/n got up.

Levi released the metal cuffs from y/n's wrists and she followed them.

"Eren. Show y/n her room and tell her to get herself cleaned up and change. After she is done, we will have a meeting at the dining table. Understood?" Levi ordered.

"Yes, sir." Eren answered.

Levi and Hanji departed ways with Eren and y/n and it was only them.

There was an awkward silence between them but Eren glaced at y/n every so often.

They finally reached their destination.

"So uhm... This is your room. The shower is two rooms over on the left and clothes should be in there." Eren said awkwardly.

"Okay. Thank you. You're Eren right?" y/n asked.

Eren frowned.

She has forgotten me. he thought.

"Yeah..." Eren answered.

Y/n then smiled while looking down and letting on a small giggle.

"I remember you. Thank you, Eren." y/n said and walked into the room leaving Eren there, frozen.

She remembers? Eren thought.

Eren then removed himself from his reverie and left.

Everyone was sitting in silence at the dining table.

There would be a few stares and glances from Squad Levi to y/n but they were all eagerly waiting for what the meeting was about.

"Alright, shall we begin?" Hanji says and Levi nodded.

"We have come up with a hypothesis, though we don't have any proof yet, this is the most logical explanation to why y/n has lost her memory ever since we set out on a expedition to retrieve Eren, y/n, and Ymir."

"I have conducted this theory with Erwin. Erwin has always had theory when he was younger, more so from his father. He believes that somehow, the government has warped the memory and knowledge on Titans and the walls to the citizens. He believes this because it he thinks it would be simply impossible for us not to have one ounce of knowledge for the Titans and the walls."

"But we thought that somehow, Eren's Titan has warped y/n's memory. And that same method is what warped our memory and knowledge on the Titans and the walls. We believe this because we also think that Eren's Titan abilities made him able to control the Titans when we were facing off in that expedition."

"Now, y/n hasn't completely lost her memory. I did some experimenting on her and if I bring up something that she has forgotten, she remembers, but just barely. She still has knowledge on how to be a soldier, fighting, and all of her comrades. But when it comes to Titans or the walls, there is nothing we can do for her to remember." Hanji says and everyone looks at her with wide eyes.

"I do know that when I used to have my memory, I knew the knowledge of the Titans. But now... I don't remember a thing. But I do remember you guys. But like Hanji said, just barely. I wish I could do better. I am sorry." y/n says.

"Eren. Did you possibly see if Reiner, Bertolt, Ymir, or even you did something to her in a way that could explain why she lost her memory solely on the knowledge of Titans?" Levi asked Eren.

"No, sir. At least... I don't think so." Eren answered.

"But again, y/n. If you have any knowledge on the Titans, please tell us. This could save humanity." Hanji says to y/n.

"Yes, ma'am." y/n replies.

That night, Eren couldn't sleep. He tried changing his position and breathing differently but nothing seemed to work.

He still kept thinking about y/n and how he could've been the reason why she forgot her memory.

He got up from his bed and decided he wanted to go outside for fresh air.

But when he got outside, he saw y/n, sitting on the porch, looking out into the night sky.

She turns her head to see Eren.

"Sorry. I shouldn't be up." Y/n apologized.

"No, you're fine. Can I join you?" Eren asked and y/n nodded.

Eren sat down next to Y/n as they stared out into the view.

"Y/n... Do you remember what happened that day. When Reiner and Bertolt tried kidnapping us." Eren broke the comfortable silence.

"A little bit, yeah." y/n says.

"Do you remember... Anything important?" Eren asked.

"No, not really." y/n responded.

"Oh, sorry." Eren said back.

Then there was silence again. All they could hear was the wind and the grass and leaves that was effected by it.

Eren took a long glance at y/n and saw how beautiful she looked under the moonlight. The way her eyes glossed from the shine made it look like planets and stars were in her eyes while her porcelain clear face shined under the glistening moon. Her h/c hair swayed and blew from the wind that shivered both their spines.

Y/n could feel Eren staring at her and she unconsciously made eye contact with him. Out of embarrassment, Eren looked away and he stared into the moonlight as well.

Cute... y/n thought.

Y/n was holding her legs up to her chest but decided she wanted to change her position so she let her legs down and her hands down.

But while doing so, y/n accidentally put her hands on Eren and immediately there was a small electricity spark and she remembered everything that she and the Titan-shifting boy went through.

Y/n doesn't let her hand go off of Eren's.

"Y/n...?" Eren mutters.

Eren sees y/n's face smiling.

"Y/n. Are you alright?" Eren asked out of concern while feeling a bit flustered from her hand being on top of his.

"I remember. If you know what I mean." y/n giggled.

Eren was confused but then immediately knew what she meant and looked away so she wouldn't see him blush as heat rushed up to his cheeks.

"Oh." he responded.

There was a moment of silence again. Y/n looked up in the moon light while smiling and Eren looked out in the distance while blushing.

Y/n then grabbed Eren's hand while still having her hand on top of Eren's. Eren then used her thumb to rub her fingers that were cupping his hand.

And the rest of the night, there sat two teens. Kinda in love, hand to hand, while staring out into the night sky, not even caring about the world or anything apart of it anymore.
