Ep 32: Meeting Drum!

This next episode will be a little different from the rest. It doesn't really tie in with the plot line but it's still a fun read.

It was a stormy day, clouds rumbled ahead warning people nearby of the upcoming storm.

But thankfully the storm didn't delay Free's flight back to Spain. In fact they had gotten there a little earlier than expected.

After saying goodbye Free searched BC Sol for Valt. After searching practically everywhere Free went to Kris's office. Opening the door slowly Free peeked his head in.

"Hey Kris?"

"Yeah Valt?"

"Do you know where Free is? I need to talk to him."

It was strange for Free to refer to himself in the third person but he needed to find Valt.

"He's in the forest." Kris answered not looking up.

"Okay, thanks bye!" Free did his best to sound like Valt while running off towards the forest.

Kris shook her head and smiled.

Running into the forest the storm clouds rumbled causing it to thunder a little. Ignoring them Free ran even faster desperate to find Valt.

"Valt?"

"Valt!"

Then all of a sudden a small head popped up from the bushes. Free's deer was eating plants. The deer tilted it's head and Free did the same in response. Following the deer it led him to the old abandoned bey stadium.

Valt was there in Free's body practicing launches.

"Sorry to make you come all the way out here. I didn't want anyone to see what was about to happen."

"It's fine, so how does this work?" Free asked

"Fafnir told me that we need to have physical contact and they'll take care of the rest."

"Okay."

Free held out his hand and Valt did the same. A blinding light came from their beys which covered their bodies until everything went black.

A few minutes later Valt was staring down at Free.

"Free? Are you awake?"

"Yeah,"

"It worked! Here."

Valt held out his hand and pulled Free up. Free still felt a little unbalanced and dizzy but it was nice to be back in his own body.

"Bye Free so you later!"

Valt ran off into the woods back to BC Sol. Free was glad that all the drama died down; he'd been needing some time to focus on blading or something besides the upcoming tournament.

Finding a quiet place in the forest away from BC Sol and animals. Free sat down cross legged onto a small patch of grass.

If Free has learned anything in the last 24 hours it was that being Valt Aoi was a hard job. People were constantly looking to Valt for inspiration, answers and sometimes even comfort. It was a hard job being Valt that's for sure.

Closing his eyes he focused on the energy around him.

By the time Free was done with his training he decided to head inside. By now the sky had gotten dark even though it was the afternoon still.

As Free was walking out of the forest he bumped into Drum. Free knew Drum was a new member but he didn't really know that much about him.

"Wow it's the Free De La Hoya! I was wondering when you were coming back from your training adventure. Can you please battle me and my Air Knight?"

Free tilted his head and looked at the boy.

Drum seemed very energetic and lively but overall he seemed nice. But there was something else going on here that he couldn't figure out. Whether it was his smile or his similarities to Valt Free didn't know why he said:

"Sure."

"Yes!" Drum jumped up in the air.

"But not here." Free said remembering the rain.

Free didnt want to rain on Drums parade literally but he also didn't want to be outside in the rain.

Something about launching a metal Beyblade while it's thundering and lightning seemed like a bad idea.

"I've got an idea, follow me."

Walking across the property Free lead Drum to the indoor training gym. On the way they passed the dorms and bladers going inside.

The minute they stepped inside the rain came. It pounded the ceiling and created a gloomy mood. Unlike outside, inside the gym it was very lively.

Most of the bladers were inside the gym practicing for upcoming tournaments. Now the Global Gauntlet wasn't coming until later but there is always a reason to practice.

Walking inside Free and Drum wipes their feet on the mat in front of the exit.

"Over here!" Drum said running to a open stadium in the back of the gym.

Free followed, as he did he overheard other people's battles. Some were a bit slower than others while other battles were intense.

When Free reached the stadium he took out his launcher. Normally Free would use his hand launch against a new blader but like everyone else Free needed to train.

Taking out his launcher they both counted down.

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

"Let it rip!"

Now normally I would start describing the battle between Free and Drum but that isn't how this story is going to go. Now this story is about Free and it still is, but not in the normal way.

On the other side of the gym was a group of kids hanging out. Taylor, a young newer blader who was setting out to be on the A team along with her friends Grant and Delaney.

Taylor was a bit shy and had a crush on Grant and she was best friends with Delaney. Grant was serious but he did have a soft spot if you knew where to find it. And finally Delaney was the coolest, she was a tall girl and could beat up just about anyone she wanted.

"Hey guys." Taylor said sitting down.

"Hey." Grant replied.

"Hey check it out." Delaney said pointing. Across the gym Free De La Hoya and Drum stood battling.

"Man I haven't seen Free in a while, I wonder where he's been?" Grant commented.

"I heard he was at the Dread Tower." Delaney said

"No I'm pretty sure he was in New York."

"You're all wrong he was in Japan."

"Guys!" Grant said.

"What?" Taylor and Delaney asked at the same time.

"Want to hear a story?" Grant said, smirking.
