Ep 12: Dread Tower Showdown!
Free De La Hoya stood in a circular room in the center was the solar bey stadium. Across from Free were five bey robot launching machines each with their own bey in the launcher. In the room there were no windows, no air flow, and no natural light. The only light in the room was illuminated from the LED lights from above.
"Here's how this is going to go down, your punishment for breaking into the Dread Tower and going into a restricted area is to do 500 battles. " Hyde said in the intercom.
Liam was also in the room with Hyde Mr. Damon, and Evel. The knights were still holding him. Evel looked bored, Mr.Damon was the opposite, and Hyde was just sitting back and watching.
500 battles!!! That's crazy! What is Hyde thinking?
"And you have to do it before the poisonous gas reaches you. This room you're standing in is about 75 feet in height. Good luck. Huh Ha!"
From above Free could very faintly see the gas in the air. Turning back onto the stadium he loaded Fafnir into his launcher.

"Let it rip!" Free and the robots said in unison.
The first hundred battles were easy, almost a little too easy. After a while Free had eventually lost count of all the battles. But thankfully a machine nearby kept track. Sure Free had gotten tired after a while but he didn't notice until 200 battles. As time went on Free became more and more sweaty. Even his tank top felt hot to him. But when he reached 250 battles that's when he got into the zone.
Free was so focused on what he was doing he wasn't even thinking about being tired or the gas. His energy wasn't going down either in fact Liam thought it had risen a little bit. Every time Free noticed how tired he was becoming he reminded himself to keep going for Liam. He didn't even care how hot or tired he'd become he'd keep going.
Up in the stands, Evel was running around trying to collect data as if the world were going to end. Hyde had his feet propped up on the control center and Damon was calling out comments into the intercom. Liam was worried about Free, at this point he figured Free was probably really dehydrated. Liam soon realized he couldn't take it anymore. He snatched the intercom from Damon.
"Don't give up Free, I believe in you!"
As soon as Liam said those words Damon and him got into a game of tug of war.
"Give it back you little brat!" Damon said, pulling.
Nobody had noticed but in the background Hyde had somehow gotten a bag of popcorn and was watching the whole thing.
"No Free needs me, he needs to know I'm okay and I believe in him!"
Both of them kept pulling until the microphone broke. Liam held the speaker part and Damon held the stand. Hyde burst out laughing shaking his popcorn.
Meanwhile Liams' words had given Free more strength to keep going. At this point Frees veins were starting to pop out and his eyes were flickering gold. Liam could tell Free was losing his concentration. Every battle Free did seemed to drag on a little bit longer then the one before. But somehow his determination and mentality kept him going. When Free reached 300 battles that's when Liam was really concerned.
Up in the stands Hyde was still watching.
"Don't disappoint me Free, prove to me you're not a world chump like Aiger." Hyde mumbled.
Down below Frees hands started shaking and he felt dizzy. His face felt red hot and his heart was pounding. He was so tired he could feel it in his head. His breathing was hoarse and his blond hair was turning brown from all the sweat.
"Please Hyde, he needs a break just look at him he's dying out there." Liam said tugging on his arm.
Hyde didn't say anything but instead he pointed down. Liam looked down at Free. A puddle of sweat was at his feet. But Liam noticed something peculiar. Was Free getting more powerful? How is that possible he should be wiped out from exhaustion.
The last hundred felt like work, but Free was still somehow having fun. His eyes now were truly gold and he was laughing.
"Last battle."
Free put Fafnir into his launcher for the last time. But just as he was about to launch he smelled the gas from above. Free ripped off the legs of his pants. Tying them around his face he had a makeshift mask. He launched into the stadium. Fafnir took the middle as the brightly colored beys surrounded Fafnir. Free yelled at the top of his lungs. Fafnir glowed as bright as the sun. So bright that everyone up in the stands were blinded.
All of the beys ganged up on Fafnir and attacked at the same time. Free yelled even louder, all of the beys burst, and the wind sent their pieces flying around. The bots were torn up into pieces. But Free didn't stop, he couldn't stop. He wanted to keep going and tap more into this wild power.
Even the computers that were hooked up to robots short circuited. Evel was disappointed but intrigued at the same time. Finally the exit opened up and the gas got sucked up by the fans. Free was about to take a step when he balance failed him and he passed out.

"That was very impressive today, I'm very pleased with the data I managed to get before Free destroyed the machines." Evel said pulling up the stats and data on his iPad.
"Huh Ha! This kid may be more interesting than Aiger himself. I can't wait to see the other surprises he has up his sleeve. But I can't help but wonder why Free was holding back."
"What do you mean Hyde?" Evel asked, suddenly intrigued.
"What I mean is Free used to be world champion. He would toy with bladers as if they were his pawns. But today was something but as I watched I felt like he was just trying to get through it. I felt like he was holding back."
Hyde's comment left both of them silent thinking. But little did they know someone had been listening from the shadows. Phi eventually got bored from listening and wandered off.
A/N: btw for everyone in this coronavirus situation STAY HYDRATED. Trust me being dehydrated sucks. So drink plenty of water.
