Lori was in the tent leaning against her bag. She was mad at the fact that her uncle came but also mad at Canary.

"Hey Cheeka" Gaby says as she enters the tent sitting beside Lori, who puts down her book and faces her.

"You ever have something that you know you need to do, need to face but you find yourself to scared to do it." Lori asks Gaby seeking her advice.

"What do you mean?" Gaby asks.

"I mean Sparrows not my horse. She was my dads horse. My horse is the reason he's dead." Lori starts to say.

"I'm so sorry" Gaby says as Marcus enters the tent.

"They had a fight over the fact that I was going to junior nationals in a week and my showmanship was getting sloppy.
My ma wanted me to spend every moment training till the competition, but I had a birthday party to go to that week plus we were
gonna go camping.
It was stormy and they were arguing and it made me sad and angry, and so I left. Them fighting was hurting me.
I rode of while it was raining bareback on Canary. My horse, and when dad found me it was too late. Thunder scared her and he got trampled. The effects didn't show till he got to the hospital and had a seizure and brain bleed and well he died." Lori explains.

"Lori I, . . . I really am sorry I can't imagine what" Gaby begins but is interrupted.

"You shouldn't imagine, I don't want to think someone could imagine what a toll this could have on someone" Lori says.

"Do you trust me?" Gaby says

"To do what" Lori questions

"Help you get back on that horse." Gaby replies

"I'll help too and so will Sam when she gets back" Marcus says.

"I'll try you guys are some of the best friends a person could ask for" Lori says as they all hug, the rest of the ground entering the tent.
"You guys wanna make s'mores I brought the stuff for them"

"I'll go set up the fire pit then let you know when to come on out" Marcus says.

"I'll help" Lori says.

"Thanks for helping" Marcus says grabbing the pit from the bed of one of the trucks, and Lori grabs wood.

"How much did you hear when I was talking with Gaby" Lori asks him as she starts to put wood into the metal pit.

"All of it Lori, and I'm sorry that happened to you" Marcus replies as the group comes to the fire.

They all start making s'mores only Lori didn't bring chocolate or graham crackers. She brought chocolate drizzled cookies. Even better right.

As they all sat around the fire Lori realized that wise person who told her 'home isn't always a place and that it is the people that love you in which make a  home.' was right.

She realized Zoe, Becky, Gaby, Marcus, everyone  who was sitting around the fire laughing and smiling was what made her home.

At the stable after the hack Lori untacked Sparrow and brushed her down before giving her a hose down.

"Gaby will you stay" Lori asked

"Yeah I guess I can" Gaby replies as she tied her horses lead to one of the open rings in the yard. "What's up"

"I'm gonna ask Marcus and Zoe to help me try riding Canary again and I want you there.  With out you I wouldn't have considered it. Thank you" Lori says as they walk and find Marcus and Zoe.

"You sure you ready to do this" Zoe asks Lori  as they walk to Canary's stall Mia feeding him carrots apples and sugar cubes.

"Mia can you leave my horse alone" Lori asks anger in her voice.

"I was just giving her the tender love and care she deserves" Mia retorts rudely back "after all she has to get it from someone"

When Mia's gone Lori tacks up Canary and walks towards the ring with Gaby and Zoe.

"Show us what ya can do" Zoe cheers.

Lori used to find pleasure in trick riding on the side, and her coach saw it helped her maintain good showmanship. However even though that was the case her mother was against it.

All the riders had gathered unbeknownst to Lori to watch.

She mounted onto Canary doing a handstand on the saddle while doing the splits in the air essentially.

"Can I help you" Zoe asks as a women walks up into the yard.

"No I'm just here to see Sam and my daughter" The women replies.

"Marcus who's that?" Sam asks.

"Her name's Lori" He replies.

"Lori as in Lauren Smith Cathy's daughter" Sam questions.

"Sam yes that's her" Cathy the women who walked up moments ago says.

"Lori" Marcus yells as Canary rears throwing Lori off and into the dirt and mud.
