"You really don't remember," Dave asks.

We're sitting under a big oak tree that's at the center of the park. I shrug and take a long drink from my my milkshake.

"We used to play all the time. When I used to come to Ella's," he says again.

I'm seated in the middle of his legs with his legs spread wide to contain me. I rest my head on his chest dropping my milkshake by my side. He starts to play with my hair and I giggle. Staring up at the tree we're under I think hard. I need to remember cause it seems important to Dave that I do.

Flash back

A smaller version of Fiona is sitting under an oak tree with a boy that looks like a younger version of Dave. 

'DAVE and FI and ELLA Forever'. 

She writes on one of the primary roots of the tree. She starts drawing a heart in front of her writing when she notices Dave isn't by her side anymore. Stopping what she's doing she looks around for the small boy.

"Dave," she sing songs giving up on the search and continuing her writing. She feels the presence of someone behind her and she looks back startled. "What are you doing. You scared me," she says trying to be serious but ends up laughing and so does he.

 Dave stretches his hand and she can see two rose flowers that he's holding. He hands her one and tries to put the other on her ear. Giggling she tries to do the same but he smacks her hand.

"What'd you do that for," she asks pouting . "Now we're not matching". 

"I don't want a flower to match with you. I'm a man it'll ruin my appearance," he says smiling at her.

"Oh, and what appearance is that," she asks dropping the nail she was using to write dusting her hands on her dress.

Dave gets into a stance, squatting a little with his head up high and one of his hand on his chin. "I am mysterious man," he says making his voice sound deep.

Fiona bursts out laughing. Getting up from her crouching position at the tree, she walks up to Dave placing a kiss on his cheek. "That's what I like about you. Promise me you'll be mysterious forever." She smiles.

Dave kisses her back on her cheek. With the biggest grin his little face could muster he says,"Forever and Ever."

"Go get more flowers and the pink ones. Ella love love loves those ones. She'll be here soon," Fiona smiles at Dave and he rushes away. Turning back to her writing on the tree she starts to place petals of flowers round it. "Oh Ella would love this." She gushes at her work.

End of Flash back

"I remember," I say in almost a whisper. I look around and find that we're sitting right beside the primary root I wrote on about twelve years ago. Tracing the wordings, I smile so hard. "We were hella goofy," I laugh hitting the back of my head on Dave's chest.

He places his hand on the hand I'm using to trace the wording and he kisses the top of my head. "We definitely were".

I turn to him and he places a chaste kiss on my lips. Giggling I drag him by the neck and deepen the kiss.

"Are you now," he asks once we stop the kiss.

"What" I ask confused.

"Free. Do you feel free? " he asks.

I tilt my head for a second and drag him in for another kiss. "Yes," I whisper against his lips.

He lifts me to face him and I shriek. He pushes a strand of hair to the back of my ear and places his palm on my cheek. Staring deep into my eyes he says, "I love you Fi".

Butterflies fill my stomach and for a second I feel like bursting out in tears of Joy. "I love you too mystery man" I giggle.

He kisses my fore head and I hug him really tight sighing.
