I walk into school shivering in my hoodie, the temperature when I woke up this morning was quite low and I like to see myself as a person of warmth. I really hate cold.

I walk to my locker and open it putting the books I have in my bag pack there and the taking out all what I'll need for the day. Once I'm done, I wait a bit for Ella. She doesn't still show up after a minute and I pull out my phone to text her.

"Well, well, look what the cat dragged in," 

"Beatrice, not today," I hiss at the figure in front of me without looking up.

"Oh Fiona, don't flatter yourself. You're not worth my time," she says.

"Well, you're in my front aren't you," I snicker finally looking at her.

She seethes at me and I chuckle. I'm a bit surprised she's been quiet for a while so I've been expecting her for a while now. 

"You really like to feel like you have everything under control right,like nothing can push you down," she says eyeing me.

Confused I slam my locker and turn to face  her again,

"What exactly do you want from me Beatrice. You really derive pleasure in bringing me down. Seeing me weak and sad. Don't you." I say already getting riled up. "The moment you notice that you don't affect me anymore it affects you and you'll do anything to make me sad again," I hiss at her.

She looks taken aback but is quick to gain composure again.

"Whatever Fiona, you know you're just a sad person. Don't put that on me," she smiles cunningly and then I loose it.

"You know what Beatrice,I'm done. Done with this, you, everything. I'm trying to find my peace and happiness and if it bothers you so much then I need you to leave me alone." I hiss at her, "Go work on yourself and tell your husband stealing mum to teach you some respect and self esteem cause people that pick on others have problems with their self confidence and that's why you whine a lot Beatrice, I finally scream at her. 

That shuts Beatrice up as she recoils, gives me a death glare and she runs off. Just then I notice everyone's eyes on us and I glare at them causing them to look away quickly. 

Ella walks up to me and smiles hugging me and I let out a sigh of relief. 

"I am so proud of you for finally standing up to her," she gushes and I roll my eyes smiling a little.

"Let's get to class," I say dragging her. My eyes catches Dave's when I look towards his locker but I look away quickly.

"Oh my God, I can't believe I missed that," Miriam cries out resting her head on Jenna's shoulder as we all walk towards the cafeteria.

"Ya'll, Ella is really exaggerating all of this," I say sighing. "I need to pee, I'll meet you guys".

I walk away from the girls, towards the toilet which was on the other side of the hall.  As I pass by the janitor's closet a hand pulls me in and  I squeal.

"Fi, it's just me," the owner of the hand says.

It's a bit dark so I can't make out the face clearly but by the voice and the name used I know it's Dave.

"Dave," I ask puzzled. "Why am I here".

"You've been avoiding me, again. And I didn't even do anything wrong this time," he says.

His hand was still holding mine and being enclosed in such a close space with him gave my cold body the warmth it needs.

"Dave I'm really sorry I keep running. I just freak out a lot about a lot of things. You should know that by now. But i'm done. I'm done running and hiding from my issues. I'm facing them now, "I say sighing.

Even in the dark I could see his lips lift up in a smile.

"What does that mean then," he asks dragging me closer to him.

"It means. I think I'm ready. I really like you, but you have to promise me you won't hurt me. It'll break me Dave."

"I promise Fi." He say and closes the space between us kissing me.

Yikes. Well we've gotten to the end. I hope you enjoyed reading this book because I sure did enjoy writing it.
