Chapter 10
And we finally get some more plot! (Of course, Freddy wants his romance too!)
Narrator's P.O.V.
The next day found the two famous killers out doing what they do best...killing people.
It was a complete accident that Freddy and Jason ran into each other. Basically, Freddy went after a girl, she got killed by Jason first, and Freddy came out into the real world, completely pissed off.
"What the hell, hockey puck?! What is it with you and stealing my kills?!!"
"Well sorreeee that you're too slow, old man!"
Freddy flipped him off. "Thought you'd be keeping an eye on Rose for when she and I go on our little date tonight." Freddy grinned, showing off his sharp teeth.
"I've got people for that. I don't need to watch her all the time because I have friends."
"So do I, kid. But unlike you, I don't have to worry about you getting anywhere with her. She's gonna get with me in the end, y'know?"
"She's smarter than that. She'll pick me."
"What makes you think she'll pick you?"
"Well, things went well last night. We uh...we kissed."
Freddy feigned surprise. "Aww! Did you hold her hand and take her to the prom too?"
"I wouldn't expect you to understand, Krueger! You're nothing more than a pervert!"
Freddy grinned, cocked his head at Jason, and joked, "But in a sexy way, right?"
"Seriously?! And people wonder why we fight!"
"We're killers. It's what we do. Hell, I kill my own friends sometimes."
"And yet you're to be trusted with a beautiful, sweet, loving girl like Rose?" Jason looked pissed.
Freddy found himself pissed as well as offended. "For your information, zombie wannabe, Rose is different. She's a quality woman and I won't back down from trying to make her mine!"
"You don't care about her! You just want to win the bet!"
"First off, that's not true! And second, even if it was, you're doing the same thing!"
"I like this girl, Freddy! But I can't keep lying to her or I may lose her forever!"
"And how do you think I feel?!"
"How do you feel?"
Freddy thought a moment and said, "I think that I may lo-"
At that very moment, the two were interrupted by someone calling their names. They both were relieved when they saw it was only Maddix, a good friend among pretty much all the killers.
"Krueger! Voorhees! I need to talk to the two of you about something important!"
"What's up?"
"Listen carefully, guys, cuz I don't have a lotta time. Pinhead knows you guys got out."
"What?!"
"I swear, Maddix, if you said anything, I'mma haunt your nightmares for years!!"
"No! No! I didn't say anything! You know I'm undercover in hell to destroy them from the inside out!"
"Yea well last time I checked, we ain't got results!"
"What have you been doing down there?"
"Look, you know I'm trying to help the killers. You guys aren't supposed to be down there yet. Nor are the others. But I've had no choice. I have to make Pinhead think I'm still working for him so I can destroy him completely and utterly...brutally... painfully...cripplingly."
There was silence before Freddy piped up, "You know you're really fucking creepy, right?"
"Pot meet kettle."
"Anywho...I just thought I should warn you. By the way, how did you guys escape anyway?"
"Black magic."
"Not to mention, the Necronomicon." Jason added. "Mama snuck it into my cell so I could escape."
"So how did he get out?" Maddix pointed to Freddy who was whistling nonchalantly and acting way too innocent.
"Well I may or may not have stolen it at some point."
"So how did you both manage it?"
"Well, after I took it from Hockey Puck, I simply used a spell to transport me home. Duh!"
"But he dropped it as he was going through the portal and I was able to use mother's spell to get home. I still have the book."
"Couldn't you have just followed him?"
"Nope. I was too late. I won't be next time."
"Well, I'm sorry to say this but I have to go. Pinhead is expecting me."
The two killers bid their friend goodbye and Maddix disappeared as quickly as he'd arrived. Freddy and Jason shot each other looks.
"Welp, I've got a date to get to. I'll see ya round, Hockey Puck. Be careful not to get killed...again."
"Same goes for you, pizzaface."
With nothing more than a nod, Freddy disappeared.
Rose's P.O.V.
It's been a busy day today. After my date with Jason last night, I was so excited that I forgot to get some sleep until really late. Luckily, I didn't have a date with Freddy that night.
This morning, Billy, Dani, and I ran all around town getting things for the baby. We grabbed a beautiful crib, toys, paint, and clothes right off the bat.
We spent the day turning our spare room into a nursery. We decided the best way to fix the room would be to paint the walls a regular white then cover our hands in different colors and finger paint the rest. Dani loved the idea.
After that, we moved in the new furniture, carpet, and toys. Dani organized the clothes into a dresser they'd bought and the closet. Everything looked perfect when we were done.
Honestly, I was relieved. I was utterly sick of cleaning and getting stuff moved in. Now that the nursery was completed, the house was completely ready. (We'd gotten everything else done a few weeks ago.)
I was tired and decided to head off to bed early. I had no sooner climbed into bed, my head hitting the pillow, than I was out like a light.
It took some time but I eventually found myself in the Dreamworld. It looked like a large, flower-filled meadow with a lake in the center of it.
Just as I was starting to explore, a pair of arms wound around my body and I heard the familiar, deep voice of Freddy, "Beautiful, isn't it?"
I took a moment to remind myself to breathe. I really liked Jason and he was a sweetheart but Freddy made me feel things I'd never felt before. Could he maybe be the one? And if so, why did I still feel such deep feelings for Jason? This whole debacle was just so frustrating!
"Very beautiful." I finally remarked.
Freddy chuckled and turned me around so that I could get a good look at him and vice versa. He scrutinized my outfit. I was wearing a blue dress with a pair of boots, a choker that had been a gift from last Christmas, with my hair up and a pair of earrings dangling down to my shoulders.
"And yet nothing will ever be as beautiful as you."
I rolled my eyes and snorted. "Does that line really work on women?"
"Depends on the women. But I have plenty more if you prefer something different. How about...you look a lot like the future Mrs. Krueger..?"
I scoffed. "As if! I may really like you but I'm not blind. Everyone knows you don't commit to women."
"Maybe..." He leaned in and whispered in my ear, "That's because I haven't found the right one yet." His words sent chills down my spine. "Although..." He looked down at me again, his blue eyes twinkling, "I think I might've now."
Without another word, he escorted me out to the lake where he'd set up a nice dinner for us. We ate and talked, enjoying each other's company. I found myself laughing harder than I had in a while.
All of a sudden, it got dark and the full moon hung in the sky. Freddy held out a hand to me. "Would you like to dance?"
I was about to mention that there's no music when he snapped his fingers and it was suddenly playing a slow song. I took his hand and he pulled me into his arms. We danced close, practically cheek to cheek. It was a perfect moment.
I was suddenly overcome with the desire to kiss him. I leaned in and kissed him gently. When I pulled away, he grinned and pulled me into another.
It was perfect. So why did I still want Jason?
Team Freddy?
Or Team Jason?
Who do you guys prefer?
