Catrina POV continued.

"I can't believe I had to leave work early to come and pick you up from school because you were fighting! Do you know how embarrassing it was to have to tell my boss that I had to leave because my three year old couldn't behave herself for one afternoon?" My mom said angrily as she pulled me towards the car. "Just wait until your father gets home! You are going to be in so much trouble."

"I'm five mommy."

"Don't you sass me young lady! What in the world possessed you into hitting a classmate and your teacher?"

"Nancy said that you and daddy never wanted me and that you hate me and wish I hadn't been bown."

"Oh Catrina." My mom sighed shaking her head in disappointment. "You know that's not true right?"

"Yes. That's not the only reason I hit her. She called me the B wowd that daddy called Mr. Krugea the first day we met him. And she called me the other bad B wowd and said that me should go back to the pound cause that's whewe bad B wowd me belong."

My mom's eyes went wide. "She said that?" I nodded. "That girl has a very bad potty mouth but honey you know that fighting is never the answer. If Nancy was being mean to you or any other kid for that matter, you need to tell the teacher and let them handle it."

"Me twied doing that. Miss Leeson said Me was  lying and only wanted to cause twouble. Miss Leeson said that Me don't belong at pweachool. She called me the bad B wowd that means female doggy. She said Me belong in a kennel just like you and that you were that bad wowd too. Then she slapped acwoss the face."

"When she went to slap me again Mista Kwuga gwabbed ahold of hewa awm and glawed at hewa. He challenged hewa and then we all went to Mrs Sunshine's office. Mwis Sunshine was going to kick me out of school but Miata Kwuga spoke up fowa me and told hewa the twuth of what happened."

"Miss. Sunshine was sowwy fowa what had happened and said she wegwetted calling you to come pick me up. As fowa Miss Leeson, Miss Sunshine said that she won't be mean to me anymowa because she's been let go. What does that mean?"

"It means that she's been fired. She no longer works at the school. Which I'm glad. Had I known that she worked at the school we would have found a different school for you to attend.
Miss Leeson and I have known each other for a very long time."

"Our relationship is a complicated one which I don't have time to tell you right now. As for your hitting Nancy I've taught you better then that. What does the Bible say about treating those who hit you? Or sue you? And how many times should we show forgiveness to others?"

"To turn to them the other cheek. Then give him your coat as well. Jesus said 70X7."

"That's right and was Jesus being serious about the number or did he want us to keep forgiving people when they hurt us?"

"He wants us to keep forgiving them."

"And how should we treat those who we consider to be our enemies?"

"We is supposed to tweat them nicely and with love in ouwa heawts towawds them." I replied with a sigh.

"I'm proud of you Catrina for not backing down and allowing your classmates to walk all over you. From the sounds of it this Nancy girl had it coming. As for the Bible it's full of nonsense. It's just a bunch of fictional stories."

"Whoever heard of animals being able to talk? A flood destroying the entire world? A man being swallowed by a whale for three days and still be alive to talk about it, serving overnight in a hungry lions den, a shepherd boy killing a giant?"

"A virgin giving birth? A man walking on water? This loving and forgiving your enemies isn't something you should do in real life. It can get you killed. The Bible is full of advice that can get you killed. I don't understand why you believe what it says. It's just another book of fairytales as far as I'm concerned and I won't have you filling our daughter's head with that crap." Daddy said with a frown.

At this, mommy slapped daddy across the face.
"Don't you ever say something like that again! The Bible is God's word and every word of it is true. You'd know that if you actually spent anytime in church."

Me knew that mommy and daddy was going to be fighting fowa while and it was all me fault. Was what Nancy had said true? Would they be better off if Me had not been bown? Pewhaps it was time fowa me to leave.

Maybe then mommy and daddy could be happy again and wouldn't fight anymowa. With tears streaming down my face Me wan to my woom and gwabbed me backpack. Me decided that Me was going to do what was needed for mommy and daddy to be happy.

Me had to wun away and not come back. Gwabbing me favowite stuffed animals and some clothes me wan out the doowa and down the stweet. They was so busy yelling at each othea  that they didn't even notice Me had not only left the woom but Me had left the house.

Me wondewed  how long it would take fowa them to wealwise that Me was gone. Me had no idea whewe me was going but Me knew Me had to get away fwom mommy and daddy fowa a while. Eventually, Me wound up making my way to the pawk.

Me just sat on the bench facing the play ground and cried. Eventually me cried myself to sleep. A few hrs later Me found myself being gently shaken. "Catrina , Princess, what are you doing out here all alone?" Fweddy asked as Me sat up rubbing my eyes.

"Mommy and daddy was fighting again and it's all me fault. Me hate it when they fight. Me always afwaid daddy will get angwy and huwt mommy or that I'll get spanked fowa making them fight. Nancy said they not want me so Me thought maybe if Me wan away they'd be happy."

Freddy POV

"Now Catrina , what did I tell you about listening to Nancy? She is jealous of you. She's jealous because you have a mommy and daddy who love you very much and more then that they love each other. I bet your mommy and daddy are worried sick right now wondering where you wandered off too. Especially since there's a very bad man loose in the town who likes to hurt children your age." I replied.

"Thewe is?"

"Yes. He's called the Springwood Slasher. Your lucky I found you before he did or you'd never have gotten to see your mommy and daddy again. You really should head back home before that bad man finds you." I replied with an evil smile knowing full well that I was talking about myself.

"Me don't know how to get home." Catrina replied tearfully.

"I can take you home. Where do you live?" I asked.

"361  elm street."

"That's near where i live. How about this, if when we reach your house your mommy and daddy are still fighting then you can spend the night in my house ok? Then I'll bring you home in the morning." I replied.

"Ok. Fweddy?"

"Yes Catrina ?"

"Can I call you Uncle Fweddy?"

"I'd like that."
