SIX
Blood,
There was so much blood.
It was everywhere.
On the walls, on the floor, on his hands.
"Murderer!" whispered cold voices around him. "You killed him, you don't even deserve to live.
Just put an end to it you miserable thing."
Trey's eyes shot open as he woke up in his bed, his body entangled in the sheets. He immediately tore the sweat-soaked material off his body. His breathing was labored and he was sweating profusely. Trey clasped his head between his hands as he rocked his body back and forth, his heart still hammering in his chest.
"Calm down Trey, calm down. Just a nightmare." He kept murmuring, trying to reassure his racing heart.
Trey carefully pried the rest of the sheets away from his slim waist and got out of his bunk on wobbly legs.
"Careful where you're going, I don't want you to bleed out on my floor after you crack your head open." Casually said Ash as he turned a page of the book he was holding. He didn't even bother turning his head to talk to Trey.
"Good morning to you too." Shrugged Trey, his nightmare momentarily forgotten thanks to Ash's oh so charming morning mood.
Said boy had been woken up in the middle of the night by Trey's cries of despair. He promised himself that he would never tell the small boy he had panicked when realizing the shouts were coming from him. Ash had climbed to the top bunk, worried sick, ready to rescue the small boy from whatever was causing his screams of distress.
When he realized it was just a nightmare, Ash had cursed himself for worrying about something that should be so insignificant to him. He had gotten back to bed trying to ignore Trey's tossing and turning.
In the end Ash didn't get a wink of sleep and had turned the lights on to read a book before class. Ash didn't particularly enjoy waking up early but reading always seemed to calm him down. And he was in great need of it after this long night.
Trey sighed as he picked up his clothes that were lying on a chair and headed towards the shower. Ash was about to remind him that the shower was his and that he didn't tolerate anyone else in it but Trey had already slammed the door shut, locking it behind him.
Ash sighed, that nightmare must have truly been something.
Oh well, he would just thoroughly disinfect everything after like he always did. Ash turned to another page letting his mind wander into the book's universe.

"You're late Mr Waters." Were the first words Ash heard from the teacher. He didn't even bother apologizing and headed to his seat at the far end of the class. He knew very well that she wouldn't do anything about it anyway. Every teacher knew him and they never bothered to lecture him.
Not that they ever bothered to lecture anyone really. Detention was more of a myth around here. The only somewhat respected punishment was the one given out by the headmaster. But only because he could toss anyone out if they didn't follow his rules.
Mr Grant was no joke. Things were only the way they were in Highwest because he rarely intervened, hauled up in his office all day. But when he did...
Well it was best to stay away, he could ruin a life in the blink of an eye.
Ash sighed but let his mask of boredom slide on his face as he sat down, noticing that Trey was seated at the table right next to his.
Trey was doodling on his notes when Ash entered the classroom. The tall boy's entry distracted him for good as he thought back to every information he had previously gathered on his mysterious roommate.
Trey noticed that Ash always sat alone next to the window and rarely paid attention to what happened in class. When he wasn't looking outside, he always slept.
He would tuck his head in his long arms resting on the table and his even breathing would make his bangs raise softly each time he exhaled. Ash really did look innocent when he slept. The dark locks on his head just begged to be touched.
Trey had never seen Ash take any notes or participate in any classes. The teachers would never ground him, only heave long sighs and move on with their lessons even though most of the other students didn't pay much attention either.
The bell finally rang, successfully waking up Ash who lazily got up to stretch his back muscles. He tucked his hands in his jean pockets and headed towards the bathroom to clean them for the fifth time today.
Not that he counted or anything.
Trey was daydreaming, lost in his thoughts, and didn't notice the group of three grinning boys that were moving closer.
They were watching him with mischievous eyes probably thinking about making him their next target.

When Ash came back from the restroom, the next teacher hadn't arrived yet. He let his tall frame rest against the wall instead of entering the class, debating wether or not he should skip it and finish his book instead. The idea was tempting but Ash knew that the headmaster would get nagging again, asking him way too many questions and he hated wasting his time on such trivial matters.
The tall boy let out a sigh and took a look inside the classroom through the open door with boredom. His eyes immediately landed on the small boy seated alone at the far end of the room. Ash's eyes lingered on the boy taking in all his soft features as if it was the first time he was seeing him.
Ash's dark eyes roamed over the chestnut locks falling around Trey's face, the soft brown eyes framed by long lashes that would cast shadows every now and then on his high cheekbones. Said cheek bones still littered in freckles. But this time, Ash didn't feel as bothered by them as he had been the first time upon seeing them.
He silently continued his staring, taking in the light defined brows that would scrunch, showing the small boy's incomprehension and the thin rosy lips gradually turning red because of all the gnawing they were going through.
Ash finally stopped staring at the oblivious boy after getting a glimpse of his defined collar bones suddenly exposed when Trey's large uniform shirt slightly slid forward due to his small frame.
Get it together Ash he muttered to himself.
Then Ash noticed something else.
Someone else actually. He furrowed his thick brows as he studied the three boys sitting way too close to his roommate for his taste. Ash felt bothered by the presence of these boys. The three of them were especially known to be ill-intentioned and usually up to no good.
So just before one of them opened their filthy mouths to talk to Trey, Ash was towering over him a menacing glare replacing the bored look he had on mere seconds ago.
"I don't recall this being your seat, shit bag." Seethed Ash menacingly. "Move or I'll make sure to break all twenty seven bones in your right hand. You're right handed if I recall. Try defending yourself after that." He added placidly, his glare
hardening.
The boy paled and instantly backed off. He had no doubt that Ash was fully capable of inflicting some serious damage to his hand. He had already knocked out a student with a plastic tray after all, he was not someone to look down upon.
Always above every one else, a cold hearted beast who only cared for himself and loathed people in general. Many had already tried approaching him or even fighting him but Ash always kept his blank mask on, only exploding with anger at any possible time.
The three boys moved back to their seats without a word, their insides boiling with anger.
Ash sighed and slouched in the seat next to Trey. He had no idea why he had done that considering the fact that he hated being close to others.
Trey had only just noticed the three other males and Ash who was now intently staring directly at him, his eyes drilling holes in the small boy's left cheek. Trey lowered his head. He didn't have to do that.
"Stop biting your nails. Do you not know how many bacteria live under there ?" Said Ash to the small boy his eyes rolling upwards at Trey's visible state of shock. No matter how good he was at hiding his emotions from the others, he was an open book for Ash to read. Trey's thoughts always showed up right on his face when he was next to him.
Upon hearing Ash's deep voice Trey had slightly jumped in surprise and immediately stopped biting his nails. A sheepish expression now adorned his face as he looked to the ground a slight blush forming on his pale cheeks when he realized the tall boy was staring at him.
Ash had once again tucked his head in his arms but this time he was facing Trey his eyes mirroring his boredom.
"Sorry." mumbled Trey
" What are you apologizing for? You didn't accidentally shave my grand mother's cat." Shrugged Ash.
Trey was slightly taken aback by Ash's peculiar sense of humor, and he almost choked when the tall boy finished his sentence.
"Just stop chewing on your nails or I'll have to tie your hands together or something." Trey blushed even deeper and Ash frowned in incomprehension before realizing the double meaning of his words.
He let out a silent chuckle, his chest rumbling when he saw Trey's flushed face. That boy was too innocent for his own good.
"Here, take it, I have quite a lot of those; you can contaminate this one as you please." Continued Ash silently enjoying the way he made the small boy flinch. He put a hand sanitizer on the corner of Trey's desk and tucked his head back in his arms not letting the small boy a choice to refuse.
"Um... thank you." Whispered Trey.
The chestnut haired boy was confused; had Ash really changed places just to tell him to stop biting his nails?
Ash silently smirked when he heard the cap of the hand sanitizer popping open.
He allowed himself to doze off just as the teacher entered the classroom.
His knee slightly bumped against Trey's and Ash felt him tense in apprehension. But when the small boy realized that Ash was sleeping he gradually relaxed and actually payed attention to the lesson.
Oddly enough, Ash, who in reality wasn't sleeping at all, didn't feel disgusted with his knee touching Trey's.
That boy was really something.
Yeeess! Chapter 6 is done ! I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you're ready for chapter 7 when it comes... Some drama is on it's way!
