Have you seen this?

Carolyn Wickstrand and Shealynn van Zee were sitting in their shared apartment. Shea? Said Carolyn. Mmm. Said Shealynn slowly. She was hanging on the couch in a very lazy manner, while binge watching band interviews. Carolyn smiled as she stood up and towered over Shealynn. She took a piece of the other girl's blue hair in her fingers, and kissed Shea's nose. We have a case. Said Carolyn. Haha, who in their right mind would wanna hire us? Giggled Shea. A desperate mother, it says here. Said Carolyn. For real? Asked Shealynn as she got up. She took Carolyn's phone and read the email. The woman had written that she needed someone who would take her case seriously as the police had gotten nowhere. Then it showed her home address it seemed. I'd better go change then. Said Shealynn. With that she ran to the bedroom. You should've put on some descent clothes when we got out of bed! Yelled Carolyn. I didn't hear you complain then! Yelled Shea back.

Carolyn Wickstrand and Shealynn van Zee met in highschool, where they found out that they were both very interested in criminology. They studied it in college where they became roommates this arrangement was still working for them. Shealynn insisted that they were the new Sherlock and Watson. With a slightly different relationship. They had two bedrooms, mainly to hide their affair for their parents and their sexist landlord. And for Carolyn's fast array of clothes and shoes. This was their first assignment and they would handle it like professionals.

That was part of the reason they arrived at the woman's house late in the afternoon. Shealynn wanted to wear her Twenty One Pilots T-shirt. Carolyn had insisted on a button up. So they compromised with a plain black V-neck. Then there was traffic and the car radio was broken, so Shea couldn't listen to her CD. The time and silence were filled by Shealynn singing 99 reasons I hate you right now. When they finally reached the house Carolyn was very much done with Shealynn's bs.

A woman in her late thirties opened the door. Thank you for coming so soon. She said. They sat down in the living room. My daughter has gone missing after we visited the circus. Said the woman. I think one of the performers liked her, and the day the circus left my daughter went missing.
How long ago was this? Asked Carolyn. It was 2 years ago. Said the woman. Then why is the police not taking it seriously? Asked Shea. They did for a while, but they didn't find my daughter with the circus or anywhere near the village. They gave up. Said the mother. She's got to be 17 now. I've tried other detectives but they either gave up, or I never heard from them after they started looking.
Do you have an address or anything else we can work with? Asked Carolyn. You could go to the trailer park just out of town. Said the woman. Some of the retired circus people live there now. She scribbled down an address on a piece of paper and handed it to Carolyn. Thank you so much dear, she said. I don't mean to be rude, but this is our job. Do you have the means to pay us? Asked Carolyn. My husband recently passed away. Said the woman. He did leave me a small fortune. He was the manager of a law firm you see. Shealynn nodded and grabbed Carolyn's arm. She was getting restless, which her ADD was to blame for. We'll do everything we can to find your daughter miss...? Miss Jackson. Said the woman. When they were back in the car Shea raised an eyebrow, and looked at Carolyn. I don't trust that woman. She said. What? Said Carolyn. Why not? Dead husband, missing daughter, the fact that her name is miss Jackson. Carolyn rolled her eyes. That's just an unlucky set of circumstances. What if she hired us because she knows we suck, but she wants to create the illusion of grief over her daughter. A small fortune! Said Shea meticulous. We'll look up their family history tomorrow. Let's first go talk to whoever lives here. She said as she handed Shea the piece of paper.
