vii. "SAID" & "SAYS"
WHEN YOU'RE WRITING A CHAPTER with dialogue, at times it's hard not to use the word 'said' or 'says'. But, there are many other synonyms that may even express the dialogue 100 times better!
You can use words like 'shouted' or 'yelled' but those aren't as expressive either. Sometimes you don't even need dialogue to respond to situations. Some people scoff or scowl in response, maybe with a sigh or grunt!
Here's a list of synonyms for the words 'said' in expressive forms:
