The rest of the week went quickly and uneventfully, it was Friday night and Mia was busy helping me with my makeup for our trip to the tracks tonight.

"Stop moving" Mia scolded as she applied highlighter at the tip of my nose,

"Achoo!"

"You're hopeless!" Mia cried in frustration,

"Shut up and let's go" I rolled my eyes, tying my silver locket around my neck.

I was wearing simple denim shorts, a black t-shirt and a thick maroon cardigan that whet down to my knees.

"You know I think Liam's right, you two do take longer than I do when I'm doing my hair" Chase said when we reached the bottom,

"Hilarious" I replied sarcastically walking out the door towards the car.

"What's up with her?" I heard Dylan ask from inside,

"She's on her period, its hailing hormones right now," Mia explained,

"That is so not cool Mia!" I yelled back at them while getting into Mia's Ferrari and shutting the door with a slam,

"Hey! My poor car!" Mia complained.

"I wanna go home" I whined when we reached the Tracks after the drive,

"You're such a baby" Mia tugged me out of her car but I didn't budge, "I know exactly what'll make you feel better",

"What?" I asked tiredly, I doubt anything could make me feel better at this point... Maybe except chocolate.

"Logan is going to be here tonight",

Okay maybe chocolate and Logan.

I hesitantly got out of the car while Mia laughed at me.

"Hi guys!" Stacy said coming up to us,

She received a round of hellos from us.

"Anyone racing today?" she asked while Marco came up beside her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders,

"I'll give it a go" Megan said and Marco nodded.

Marco jumped onto a nearby Ute to announce the next race and so people could place bets, soon Megan's race was up and she got into her car and towards the starting line.

"Three" Stacy started the countdown and the crowd had already gone wild,

"Two" People cheered as the cars revved their engines,

"One!" and they sped off into the distance until we couldn't see them any longer.

A few minutes later the two cars came into view,

Megan's car was coming second.

"She never comes last," Mia whispered and I almost didn't catch that over the crowd yelling congratulations at their winner.

We met up with Megan when she walked over to us,

"What was that? You never lose" Mia rushed to her when she met up with the rest of us,

"Did she cheat?" Kyle asked,

"Nope, she won fair and square" Megan sighed,

"Wow" Dylan breathed,

"She must have some real skill if she beat you" Chase added,

"I think you did amazing," Noah said whilst pulling Megan into a hug and she smiled gratefully up at him,

"I've never seen that car race around here" Liam commented and we looked over to the driver who had stepped out.

I couldn't see her face too clearly but I felt like I'd seen her somewhere before and it annoyed me that I couldn't figure out how.

"She looks..."

"Familiar" Megan finished for me.

"I wanna go home" I complained as I felt my stomach cramp up again,

"Every girl goes through this every month Lex, grow up" Mia rolled her eyes at me and I stomped my foot much like a child,

"I swear to God if you- Hi Will!" Mia said hugging Will who had walked up to us with Logan, Kasey, Valentino, Grayson and Ethan trailing behind.

"Hey girl!" Val said in a Valley girl accent and I greeted them all before my eyes landed on that girl who got out of the car that beat Megan.

When I saw her face up close I could clearly make out who she was,

"Anna?" Mia and I asked in disbelief at the same time,

"Oh great, so you two have met already" Logan said wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me into him.

Anna looked panicked, like she had been caught in the middle of a web.

"She's a family friend according to my dad, she's just moved overseas and she's staying at mine for a while until she can get her own place" I just nodded at Logan's explanation.

She's staying at Logan's place?

Mia had the same look of confusion plastered over her face as me, this Anna was completely different to the one we saw at school, that Anna looks like she could barely defend herself yet now she looked pretty badass.

"Hi" she said shyly, 

That sounded a lot more like the Anna I knew.

"Hi" I forced out with a smile,

"So what's your story Anna?" Mia asked,

"My parents are having this messy break up and I hated getting in the middle of it so Logan's dad offered me a place to stay with Logan" she explained and Mia nodded,

While everyone conversed amongst themselves I felt my stomach cramp up again and I groaned loudly, bending over and holding my stomach in an attempt to lessen the pain, this time I was greeted by a wave of nausea too.

Cramps are the worst; don't argue with me on this.

"Alex? Are you okay? What's wrong?" Logan asked worriedly,

"It's shark week," Mia whispered to all of them not very indiscreetly,

"Mia!" I scolded and I felt my cheeks heating up,

"It's nothing to be ashamed of Lex"

"Well do you need anything?" Logan said rubbing my back comfortingly.

"Take me home?" I offered feebly, "Mia refuses to drive me"

"You're such a pussy," Mia muttered,

"You're such a pussy" I mocked her and stuck my tongue out, being the mature person I am.

"Yeah I'll drive you home" Logan said,

"I'll just tell Noah I dropped you off" Mia added and we agreed,

We were about to walk off to Logan's car but Anna stopped us.

"Uh- Logan you're my ride home",

"Oh right" Logan said, "Yeah we'll just stop over at Alex's place first" Anna nodded.

We said a quick goodbye to everyone except my brother and his gang because they'd probably go berserk,

"Come in" I said to Logan and Anna when we reached my place.

"Noah would kill me if he found out I was here",

"Just for a bit? Please I made you come all the way here, it's the least I could do"

"Honey, I'd do it again in a heartbeat" he gave said and I felt my cheeks heat up again,

"Honey?" Anna said from behind us as I unlocked the door.

"She's my girlfriend" Logan said and Anna's mouth formed as O shape,

I quickly reached up and kissed him on the cheek, 

I think that was the first time I heard him call me his girlfriend in public.

"You missed" he smirked at me and I rolled my eyes before giving him a peck on the lips,

"Can I offer you anything? A drink or something" I asked and Logan shook his head,

"Do you know how to make tea?" Anna asked as she walked around the living room taking in her surroundings,

"Uh yeah" I replied going into the kitchen to prepare it.

I brought out a ceramic mug and a kettle whist heating some hot water,

"Sugar?" I asked her from the kitchen,

"None thanks" Anna replied from the living room.

I took the kettle off and poured the water into the cup, I walked over to the pantry to grab a tea bag,

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach from the cramps and I groaned, I felt sick and lethargic as I leaned against the pantry while slowly sliding to the floor, pulling my knees up to my chest.

Footsteps sounded in the kitchen and I screwed my eyes shut,

Periods are the literal definition of 'bloody hell'.

"You need to rest" Logan's voice sounded throughout the room and I opened one eye to see him with his hand outstretched to help me up, "I'll finish up here and you go lie down",

I shot him a grateful smile, which probably looked like more of a grimace as I used his hand to help me up.

I walked into the living room and plopped down on the couch, closing my eyes.

"Do you need anything, honey?"

"For you to stop calling me that, we sound like an old married couple" I replied to Logan,

"You'd love that wouldn't you?"

I felt my cheeks burn.

"So I was thinking of joining the cheerleading squad?" Anna said plopping down on the seat next to me; I begrudgingly opened my eyes,

"I mean we already had tryouts at the start of this year but I guess you could talk to Monique, she's the head",

"I think I'll do that yeah".

We sat in awkward silence for a minute and I was actually enjoying the peace until Anna broke it again and I mentally groaned,

"So um about what happened yesterday..." Anna trailed off and my switched my attention to her rather than my uterus who had it out for me right now, "You can't tell Logan about that okay? Or anyone for that matter, it was a pretty low point in my life",

"Yeah" I nodded, "Your secret is safe with me",

"Thanks",

"No worries".

A blanket of silence fell over the room and I relaxed,

Until the Friends theme song blasted through the living room.

I groaned loudly, my eyes screwed shut.

"Sorry" Anna said while turning the lowering the volume,

Logan came in soon after holding two cups of hot tea, he handed one to Anna and one to me,

"Thanks, asshole" I said taking the mug from him, "But I didn't ask for one",

"You look like you could use one",

"Wow Logan, you really know how to make a girl feel special," I sneered, earning a hearty laugh from him that made my insides warm.

Gracie came and snuggled on my lap later that night and so as Ross got a disastrous fake tan I felt asleep soundly on Logan's shoulder.

"We're going to be so late," Mia said to me on Monday morning as we walked through the empty halls of Grove Hill high,

"I'll see you at lunch?" I asked her before she reached her classroom,

"Can't sorry, I have an assignment to finish and it's due the period after",

"Organized" I commented and she flipped me off,

"And Chase is bludging"

"Great" I muttered,

"I'll see you later" she said and waved me off.

I quickly walked down the hall to the Chemistry; I was pretty late already,

"Listen, Mr. R, how was I supposed to know-"

"Hi Anna" I said narrowing my eyes at her as I turned the corner,

"Hi Alex!" she said switching her phone off and tucking it away into her pocket, she looked like she was having a pretty intense conversation with whoever was on the other line,

What was that about?

"Sorry" I said, "What are you doing out here?"

"Just taking a phone call, where are you off to now?"

"Chemistry, room 244"

"Same! Let's walk there together" she said excitedly and I nodded.

When we reached the room there was a substitute sitting on the desk chair and reading a magazine, there was textbook work up on the board but the class didn't look like they were bothered about it,

I spotted Logan and Valentino so I headed up to sit next to them.

"Are you made of fluorine, iodine and neon?" Logan said when I reached there,

"Huh?"

"Because you're so damn fine",

It took me a second before realization dawned on me and when it did I laughed loudly.

"Wanna hear a joke about sodium?" Val leaned forward in his seat from behind us as Anna took a seat next to him.

"Na"

"Fuck you, Logan" Valentino muttered.

HAHAHA I THINK I'M FUNNY,

Lmao okay but seriously-

1. I'm not too happy with this chapter mostly because it was kinda rushed so I'm super sorry but I'm also super stressed out with school and stuff so again I'm so sorry, Ive never procrastinated so hard in my life

2. Also, Alex gets her period every month it's just not written in - this chapter is just for the plot (Sorry if this confused you lmao) + kinda cringing about Alex complaining about her period
