The Rescue of Summerfall by Troublesome_Wench

Book Cover & Title (4.5/5): The way that the cover's designed might go against you. The art doesn't necessarily fit the aesthetic around it, if that makes any sense; even though the art is great, they just don't mix—the borders and the piece. I do, however, like how simple it is. I will say, it's not the most captivating cover, but it does bring wonder to the table.

Your synopsis is great! It gives us the who, the what, the where and now you gotta figure out the why. The details used here are brief yet hearty. It gives you a glimpse of the writing prowess that is soon to be presented.

Plot(50/50): The story opens up with a hunt with our druid, Sylfir. After claiming a bounty, essentially, she tracks down the man a village has marked as a criminal. Sylfir finds that this man goes through the High Forest where she eventually catches up to him then captures him alive. Thus, creating the solution to go back to Wynn's Hold to dump her bounty.

Then we scope out to find a couple farm boys who are brothers, Ivan and Erik, calling it a day in the fields. Their normal routine of life gets thwarted due to an unprecedented beast that lays waste to the village folk and their crops. Once this foul creature of unknown origin targets their family, they fight to protect themselves despite their fear. Tom, a cat, decides to save the family by redirecting the creature's attention to it, destroying the crops in the process, and the beast chases it to the High Forest.

The pacing for the plot is smooth as it begins to tie ends together the further you read. Everything is spun to a center and you can feel the gravitational pull after every chapter. It just feels like an HBO show! Like, if they needed new material, this would be it.

Character Development(25/25): First, we are introduced to Sylfir—a wood elf druid. Skilled in the art of being a hunter, she tracks a man to bring him back to Wynn's Hold to await punishment for his heinous crime. Displaying her flawless tracking skill, the live capture of her quarry was nothing short of miscalculated calculation; getting the job done nonetheless. She is a capable huntress, and her arrogance and wit reflects that.

Then we are introduced to Ivan and his family. They're a simple farming family. Plant, harvest, the whole shebang except cattle. The line of fear and protection gets drawn once a beast of terrifyingly unknown origins attacks them. Though he displays courage, it wanes as the reality dawns on him—he could die with one simple mistake. He is no archer, but he still tries; his family soon to be saved by a mangy cat.
We really start to get a good feel as to who Ivan is as a person; walking through his tempered community and willing to help anyone who's in need.

I'm sure further down that we'll get to know these characters better—and the characters that follow—all their flaws and what makes them unique. You can definitely feel their development like a rope being pulled from both sides, it just continues to get tighter the further you go.

Overall Enjoyment(20/20): I had to get used to the present tense type of writing but nothing wrong with it, I just never read a story like this and you, great author, make it work very well. The paragraphs are nice lengths, easy to read and phenomenal punctuation as far as I can tell. Just by going through the beginning chapters, I could already tell that I was going to be immersed into the world you. . . copied to create??? Not too sure how to phrase that. . . I digress. It's so fluent that it's just easy to read—as if it already went through its editing phase and now I'm seeing the final product.

There's just enough detail in the description to walk that line of fact and imagination. Not only that, the pictures take out a lot of work by providing the image you're trying to convey.
Overall, there's little to no flaw in this story thus far. It's easily enjoyable by fantasy readers and non-fantasy readers alike. There's not much to say rather than just great writing and keep it up. I can't wait to read further into this story as I'll be coming back to it to read.
