Cityscape Dreams

I dream in concrete,
Where the streets hum with voices I'll never know,
And the skyline cuts through the sky like a promise,
Sharp and distant,
But never within reach.

The lights flicker like stars that forgot to fall,
And the hum of the city fills my veins—
A constant rhythm,
A pulse I can never outrun.
I walk these streets,
But I am never sure if I'm moving forward,
Or simply tracing the echoes of someone else's path.

The buildings stand like silent giants,
Watching me with cold eyes,
As I try to weave myself into their shadows.
Each window holds a secret,
A life I will never live,
A dream I will never claim.
But still, I look,
I press my face against the glass
And wonder if there's more to this world
Than the endless rows of steel and glass.

There's a peace in the chaos—
In the way the lights blur together,
A city painted in neon and rain,
Where no one asks who you are,
But you can feel the weight of every unspoken question.

I dream of this place,
The city that never sleeps,
Where silence is a luxury
And solitude is hidden in plain sight.
I dream of walking through its streets at midnight,
A stranger to everyone and no one,
Chasing dreams that rise with the dawn
But fade with the streetlights.

Somewhere, in the midst of it all,
I will find myself—
Not in the faces that pass,
But in the spaces in between,
Where the city's pulse slows,
And for just a moment,
I am part of its dream.
