CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
Cody and Quinn were sitting on the stairs of the abandoned shack. Quinn was on the last stair, while Cody was sitting on one higher up. The smaller boy was watching Quinn talk, but he got distracted and couldn't pick at what Quinn was saying as worry filled his thoughts. The sun was setting in the distance as the evening gave way for the night. The sound of birds and cars made a buzz at the back of his mind as he stared at Quinn's moving mouth.
"Cody? Is something wrong?" Cody blinks at the sound of Quinn calling his name. He looked down at the taller boy who now had a concerned frown on his face. He hadn't even noticed when he had stopped talking. "Is everything okay?" Quinn asked, and Cody nodded.
"Sorry, I was just thinking..." he trailed, running his fingers through his dark hair.
Quinn sighed, looking up at his boyfriend. "About what?" He asked, reaching to hold onto Cody's thick leg through his faded blue jeans.
Cody shrugged. "Stuff," he said, not feeling like he was in the mood to talk.
"What sort of stuff?" Quinn probed, making Cody sigh.
"I don't know, stuff." Cody knew he was being rude, but he couldn't help himself. He'd been thinking a lot about what Lindsey had said to him, and he found it frustrating that he couldn't sort out his life on a schedule like most people seemed to be able to do.
Quinn sighed, pulling himself up from the last stair to join Cody on the top one. He scooted close, making sure their thighs touched. "Come on, talk to me, please?" he begged, leaning forward so that he got a better look at Cody's face. The smaller boy had a slight frown on his face, and Quinn worried if he was annoying him.
Quinn poked at Cody's cheek. "You're frowning..."
Cody immediately forced himself to smile before raising his head. "I don't know. I'm not sure how to put it in words. I'm worried."
"About what?" Quinn asked, watching as Cody folded his hands on his lap.
Cody sighed. "The future."
"What about the future?" Quinn asked, reaching out to touch Cody's face.
Cody sucked in his breath, before rambling on. His words were a mirror of what Lindsey had told him to worry about. "About us. What happens after graduation? I've been thinking about that for a couple of days—"
"We'll still be dating," Quinn said, cutting the boy off. He reached out to hold Cody's hand. "Well, unless you break up with me out of nowhere," he said, letting out a nerve-filled laugh.
Cody blinked, sucking in his cheek "I don't think I'll be allowed to still stay at my house after graduation—"
Quinn cut him off. "Then just come and stay with my family. They like you. We can share my room—"
Cody laughed, shaking his head. "I'm not sure I can just move into your house like that—"
Quinn laughed before Cody could finish. "Why not?" he asked, smiling at his boyfriend. "You can," he added, giving his hand a squeeze before smiling at him.
There was a pause since Cody didn't say anything. They sat still, hand in hand as they got lost in their own thoughts.
"And if you're not comfortable with that option I'll look for a place for myself and you can move in with me then," Quinn said, continuing the conversation. He squeezed Cody's hand. "I'll sneak you into my house in my backpack if I have to," Quinn said, making Cody laugh before covering his mouth with his free hand.
"What's funny?" Quinn asked, grinning as he rested his head on Cody's shoulder. "I really would, you know."
The stairway became silent again, and the two boys just held hands and looked out into the streets.
"How do you stay so optimistic?" Cody asked, turning a bit before running his fingers through Quinn's curly dark hair. "You're always so sure that things will be alright."
"I don't know. I just am?" Quinn said, looking up at Cody he was glancing down at him. The boy had long lashes, and his face was free of bruises today.
Cody chuckled, pinching his boyfriend's cheek. "That's not an answer." He insisted but didn't prob Quinn for a better one.
The two stayed like that for a while, and their conversation drifted to comics and Quinn's family. Cody looked down at his boyfriend who was resting on him, and soon Quinn raised his head before smiling at Cody.
"Can I kiss you?" Quinn asked as his eyes lingered on Cody's pink lips for a bit too long.
Cody felt his face warm up, but he sucked in his embarrassment and nodded. "Y-yes," he stuttered, watching Quinn chuckle before reaching out to hold his face.
"You're so adorable," Quinn whispered when he rested his forehead on Cody's. He rubbed the boy's cheek with the base of his thumb before leaning in to connect their lips. He pressed up against the boy groaning when their tongues touched.
After a while Quinn pulled away from the kiss, smiling at Cody's now red face as he hummed to himself.
"I just want to kiss you all day, you know?" Quinn confessed, making Cody chuckle a bit before focusing his gaze on the last stair. The stairs were made of plain concrete that no one had bothered to paint over or level with some other material like wood.
Cody felt his heart rate increase and his lips tremble as he thought of what to say. "I like you too. Like a lot," he managed to get out in a breathy voice, emphasizing the last word. Sure, Quinn liked him, but Cody sometimes wondered if it was even possible to like someone as much as he liked Quinn. Did Quinn like him as much as Cody adored him?
"I like to kiss you too, like a lot," Cody muttered under his breath as he was reminded of pleasurable dreams when half the time was him just kissing Quinn a lot.
"That's nice to hear," Quinn said, looking at Cody with a slight smile on his face.
Quinn tapped Cody's shoulder, making the boy look up at him.
Cody frowned a bit. "What—?" he couldn't finish his sentence since Quinn took his face in his hands before planting a kiss on his mouth. Cody sighed into the kiss, reaching out to touch Quinn's face too. He moaned at the feeling of Quinn sucking on his tongue. He could feel his stomach twist up and his legs shake as Quinn deepened the kiss.
"Hey," Quinn let out, pulling away from the kiss. He rested his forehead against Cody's, staring into the boy's brown eyes. "Can I try something?" he asked, and Cody licked his lips, wondering what it was.
"What?" Cody asked, and Quinn's eyes fluttered to the front of the smaller boy's chest.
"Well, I was reading the other day and it said it feels good if you kiss there too," Quinn muttered. He already touched Cody's chest a lot, but he had been curious.
Cody looked down at the concrete stair beneath them. "Isn't that too much to do in public?" he muttered. He felt excited, but he wanted to offer a bit of common sense before jumping in.
"We're behind the shack..." Quinn trailed. "You won't take off your shirt, you'll just hold it up," Quinn offered, and Cody nodded, making the boy smile. Quinn reached under Cody's shirt, running his hands up his stomach like he usually did. He let his fingers brush his nipples, and Cody closed his eyes as always.
"You have to hold this up for me," Quinn explained, taking Cody's hands in his before pressing them on the boy's shirt. Cody nodded, pulling his shirt up until his whole chest was exposed. There they were, two brown buds already wrinkled from excitement.
"You know, this was less embarrassing in my head..." Quinn trailed, and Cody chuckled, feeling his face warm up. Quinn manned up, bending his head until his breath was fanning Cody's chest. He kissed one of the boy's nipples, twisting the other between his fingers as he made to lick and suckle on the other.
Cody squirmed, tightening his hold on the fabric of his shirt as Quinn got bolder with his sucking. Cody let his shirt slip from his hands, but let his fingers bury themselves in Quinn's hair.
When the taller boy pulled away his eyes were pooling with an emotion that made Cody's legs shake. "Quinn..." he trailed, thinking of something.
"Hmm?" The older boy sat up straight, letting Cody's shirt fall back down.
"Maybe we should get stuff like condoms when we're heading home... for later?" Cody's voice grew smaller with every word, but Quinn picked them up. The taller boy's face warmed up, but he nodded, wrapping his hands around Cody before pulling him close.
"Sure," he muttered, kissing Cody's hairline. "Do you want to be on the top or bottom?" Quinn asked in a small voice after a while.
Cody's eyes widened a bit at the question. "Bottom," he muttered, and Quinn nodded into his hair. Cody had just assumed that Quinn had picked that up over time. He liked being touched and hovered over.
The thought of Quinn buried inside him as he moaned saying how good and tight, he felt made Cody's skin shiver with pleasure. His fantasies usually followed two paths—one where Quinn was inside him and couldn't shut up about how good he felt, and another where he would suck on Quinn for a long time, and then Quinn would then move his hips, thrusting into Cody's mouth. He would apologize somewhere along the line for getting the boy's face stained with cum because he couldn't hold it in.
Nonetheless, both involved Quinn really being into Cody so much that he couldn't hold himself.
Cody had a need to be wanted like that.
"What are you thinking about?" Quinn asked, making Cody blink. Cody could feel his face warm up.
"Nothing," he muttered as Quinn pulled away to look at him with a raised bow. He wondered if Quinn thought of stuff like that too, but he was too afraid to ask, feeling that reading magazines filled with pictures and erotica geared at older gay men did fuck with his fantasies a bit, meaning they possibly weren't normal teen ones.
The taller boy let Cody's non-answer go and pressed a kiss to the boy's lips. The two kissed and held on to each other until the sun completely set. Cody's face still felt warm even when the two boys got up from the stairs and made to walk home together. They shared a kiss at the junction of Cody's street, and Quinn left right after with Cody waving him off.
