-12- {FINAL}

It had been two weeks, and the debris had still been settling.
Taehyung's therapist had finally called in to have the police do a wellness check because not only did Taehyung miss his therapy appointment, but he never called to reschedule either.
Taehyung always called to reschedule.
A heavy bang on the door echoed through the dorm. "Kim Taehyung? Are you home? Can you come open the door?"
When the police officers received no answer, they had a warrant to break the handle and check inside themselves.
"What the hell is that smell?" one of the officers said as he covered his nose with his arm. They went to turn the lights on but the light switch didn't work. The entire dorm was cast in dark shadows and the place smelled rancid like old, rotting garbage.
"What the hell is all of this?" the second officer asked as he made his way closer to the living room. There were shards of painted clay all over the living room floor. Paint was splattered across the walls too. Pieces of fiberglass littered the place. Both officers looked around to see the photos of the band scattered all around.
They continued to search the dorm as they trudged their way through all of the garbage. One of the officers even tripped over some articles of clothing. Upon further inspection, as the officers made their way back into the living room one of them bumped into something.
He turned to see a mannequin that looked exactly like Taehyung. He felt it and could feel the fiberglass material as he looked it up and down. It was dressed up in a nice suit and the face had perfectly resembled the idol.
"Why on earth would the boy have a mannequin of himself?" Both officers eyed it in awe. It was so intricate that it could have actually been mistaken for Taehyung.
"I suppose celebrities use them to help them figure out outfits or something. Considering it's wearing a suit."
One of the officers looked more closely at the ground and realized half of the broken stuff they'd been stepping in was shattered clay and other parts of more mannequins. They saw pictures of each of the members headshots shredded to pieces. "They must have all had their own. Looks like Taehyung destroyed everyone else's but his."
"Typical celebrities. Conceited and only thinking about themselves. For all we know he's probably not even sad they're gone now that all the attention can be on him."
"That's true. Anyways, I'm going to look around some more but I don't think he's here. Looks like he just abandoned this place. Probably went off on some kind of bender."
They continued to inspect, and after not finding Taehyung anywhere in the dorm they were speaking of leaving and discussing protocol. Figuring Taehyung was an adult who could do what he wanted and leave when he wanted, they decided that him missing his therapy appointments was no cause for concern. They figured the idol had left the place messy because he must have been a slob, to put it simply. While speaking to each other, one of the officers noticed a single droplet of water falling from the mannequin's eye. "Does that look like a tear to you?"
They both made their way over. The other officer looked around at the walls and at the ceiling. "Probably just water leaking from somewhere. Clearly he didn't quite care to keep this place cleaned up or well taken care of."
"It reminds me of those weeping statues or whatever, you've heard of 'em? You know, when statues cry? Or in this case...mannequins."
"That's a bunch of nonsense, stuff like that isn't real. Now let's go, we have more important business to attend to anyway."
The officers left the dorm without ever finding Taehyung. The door slammed shut behind them...
Right as Taehyung's second tear fell.
[The End]
