Chapter 12: A Meeting with Death the Kid (Greek Style)
"Stupid little pixie haircut just had to do her demented little hide and seek thing right next to monster infested woods." I'm mumble to myself as I disintegrate another giant ant with my bow. Their kinda like the Myrmekes from the ant hill at camp Half-blood except they aren't quite as big or quite as dangerous. Thank god for that.
But they are very very annoying. They're a really dark blue, almost black, and the size of basset hounds. (Which are like one foot tall and three feet long) The most threatening thing about them is the pincers, ugh the pincers... Those cursed things are longer then knives and sharper then one of one of the Hephaestus kids celestial bronze swords. (I know from experience how sharp those things are considering I received a impromptu haircut on a dare, ironically from Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Never again) I've already killed at least twenty of the stupid things but they won't stop coming. I finally do the smart thing (for once) and turn around and run.
Fortunately I have a moment when my famed 'demigod grace' kicks in. A.k.a I trip on a root and fall face first into dirt. I turn onto my back and see one of the ants lunge at me, heading straight for my neck. Surprisingly I did something absolutely badass. Before it could reach me I grab a arrow from my quiver and jam it in between the pincers and into the mouth, it disintegrates with a squeal and golden dust covers my body. Ugh couldn't we kill monsters without all the dust? I sneeze violently as I get up, dusting myself off. I look around to see the rest of the ants scuttling off. I Must have tired the little bastards out.
I walk around collecting the intact arrows littered around the area. (Can't be wasteful with weapons of death!) As I'm picking up the last of my arrows I hear a voice from behind me. "With an aura that black you're gonna die soon." A shiver went up my spine as I turned around with a arrow drawn tight in my bow. What I saw definitely isn't what I was expecting. The thing I wasn't expecting was the son of Hades, Nico Di Angelo.
