🐘Ch. 2🐘

"I don't care. I want to see it so," Alex ate another one of the school's French Fries. Honestly, I don't understand how she can even stand putting one of those things into her mouth. For one thing, she just got her tongue done so it has to hurt but clearly she doesn't care. Another thing those things are greasier than anything. Also what if her tongue gets infected. Gross...

"You know I don't like scary movies!" Jonny whines at Alex. Tonight we are going to her place to watch movies and right now we need to figure out which movie we want to see. Right now, it's between a horror movie (Alex's pick) and some sappy romcom (Jonny's pick).  They always argue over the movies but Alex always says that it's her house so we always go with what she says.

John Pallara. Everybody just calls him Jonny and he'll definitely correct you if you don't. He just so happens to be the high school computer geek with huge fragile glasses (since he already had broken them about 4 times now... all in the same place). He's about the same height as me and extra skinny and has a lot of acne. He doesn't look it but he's the smartest guy in the entire school. He's set to graduate this year and he's only 16.

"You need to live a little nerd," Alex teases from across the table. Vince comes up behind Jonny and punches his shoulder playfully.

"OW!" Jonny plays it up. Vince puts his arms around Jonny from behind and kisses his cheek. Jonny leans back into Vince and Vince smiles. Jonny and Vince have been together for about 6 months at this point. As far as I know they are as happy as can be.

"Aw hon you know I don't mean it," Vince kisses his cheek again while Jonny's vampire pale skin ignites into a crimson red. I catch Vince's eyes flash a yellow and pink. Meaning lust and love. While Jonny's read annoyance and with a bit of lust... mostly annoyance.

Vince Rand. The high school bad boy. Wears all black with fingerless gloves and only listens to screamo or anything alternative. He has snake bites and constantly dies his naturally blond hair black. His morning routine consists of heavily applying messy black eyeliner all around his eyes. Nobody ever expected them two to get together but I could see it from a mile away.

Vince was the new kid last year and he was in lunch with Jonny (none of us are smart enough to be in a class with him). When Vince first walked by our table, Jonny showed red in his irises and stared in amazement. Vince would always show curiousity or admiration around Jonny. Of course, nobody else could see it but I could.

Because of my little curse inside my eyes.

"I like scary movies," Vince tries negotiating.

"I know," Jonny takes a sip of his drink. "That's why we don't go to the movies together," Jonny says matter-of-factly. Slowly, I start losing interest in the conversation. I honestly don't care what we watch. What I do care about is that new kids eyes...

I look around to see if the new kid is here. Maybe I can ask him somethings so I can figure out why his eyes look like they did. As I do, I notice Carolyne walking into the cafeteria with none other than the new guy. When they walk in Carolyne says something to him and points to our table. Again, Carolyn tries to put her hand on his shoulder but he dodges it. The new kid and I make eye contact for a split second. He's too far away to tell what glints he has. What his eyes look like. He looks away first and I look to Carolyne as she keeps making motions with her hands to make him come to us. As he comes closer something about the new kid seems a little... off. I can't quite put my finger on it. I know I'm staring at him too much but... his eyes...

"Hey guys!" The new kid visibly flinched at Carolyne's very loud greeting. "This is Jackson Kirkwood!" She claps her hand together and points to Vince. "He's Vince," Vince turns to him lazily and does a mini salute.

"'Sup." Jonny nudges him to sit up. Instead Vince turns facing forward and intertwines his fingers with Jonny's. Jonny rolls his eyes and turns to Jackson.

"Jonny," he introduces himself with a small smile.

"And she's Alex," Carolyne introduces Alex, who's directly across from me. Alex was in the middle of chewing but smiles anyway and pushes a loose hair out of the way with dirty fingers. "I know we're dysfunctional but don't judge us just yet," Carolyne throws an annoyed glare at Alex. "And he's-"

"Brady... umm... Thompson... right?" He asks me, interrupting Carolyne.

"Y-Yeah..." Carolyne looks at him light green glints with some... indigo (the only other color between purple and blue that'd make sense).

"O-Oh," he seems to have just realized what he said. "I j-just overheard s-someone, I think Carolyne, c-call you that. I'm sorry!" He's visibly shaking I look into his eyes. There's definitely something going on. It's a dark color. I can see tiny deflections of light but... the shade is too dark to tell what color it is from this distance. However from this distance I can definitely tell.

Black.

How is that possible? I look down at my book bag where my notebook would be. What does this mean? I notice him coming to sit down next to me. I've always been able to tell... even from a distance. I continue on eating like everything is normal. I can't be freaking out in front of everybody.

Everything is not normal. What is he? Is he human? Does he just not have any glints? He could have colored contacts in since that impedes me from seeing Glints. But... why would he...? It's just school. All these thoughts swirl in my head and he brings me back.

"I'm sorry..." I take a quick glance over and notice he has gloves on. Why though?

"Oh hon it's okay!" Carolyne sits across from him and tries to hold his hands but he moves away. She frowns but shrugs it off. She needs to stop trying...

"For someone who's so huge you're sure no Jack the Ripper," Vince voices while examining Jack with his eyes. Seems to be an Indigo and light green plaguing his eyes, just like Carolyne's earlier. It's almost overpowering his natural light blue eye color.

"I'm sor-" he starts looking down at his hand in his lap. That's when I notice Jackson has other gloves in his pocket. They looked like those fancy lightweight gloves too. Why would he need those...?

"Don't be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong," Vince snaps back. Jonny nudges him, probably telling him to be nicer. Vince hates it when people apologize to him. I'm sure it's because he feels like he doesn't deserve it. From observing him for a short amount of time I gathered he doesn't think highly of himself. I concluded his father is verbally abusive and his mother acts like he doesn't exist. I thought it would make sense. Not long after I came to that conclusion he told me about his home life.

I was right.

"We're your friends now!" Carolyne proclaims with a big grin.

"O-Okay," he stutters.

"Calm down. We only bite a lot," Vince smiles and earns a jab in the ribs by Jonny.

"I GOT POPCORN~!" Alex sings as she walks into her living room with 3 huge bowls of extra buttery popcorn. She hands on to me and offer some to Jackson who's up on the couch. He shakes his head no and I continue eating. "Bitches better be ready!" Alex sports a evil grin as she sits on a recliner by the couch. Jonny and Vince cuddle up underneath their blanket next to me on the ground as Carolyne and Jackson sit on the couch. Alex hits play and I leaned back trying to get comfortable. I notice Jackson shifting uncomfortably on the couch and I look up to him.

"You okay?" I ask. Alex and Carolyne simultaneously shush me.

"Ye-Yeah," he responds.

"Boy! Relax~. We're not going to hurt you I was just joking earlier," Vince tries to sound reassuring... for once. It was pretty surprising.

"O-Okay."

"And you stuttered again," Jonny comments while stuffing his face.

"Do you have Myso-" I start.

"Shut up! The movies starting!" Alex yells at us.

"ALEX I TOLD YOU NO SCARY MOVIES!" Jonny yells and moves even closer to Vince to get ready to cover his face when the scary parts come.
