{Episode 9:"Heartbeats at the fair."}
"Do you have any suggestions for interesting places to visit before we leave Busan?" Soojin asked Hoseok, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Hoseok pondered for a moment, tapping his chin with his finger.
"How about we go to a local fair? There's one nearby that's known for its thrilling rides, delicious food, and lively atmosphere."
Soojin's face lit up with excitement.
"A fair sounds amazing! Count me in!"
Jiyeon, who had been listening attentively, chimed in,
"I've always wanted to experience a fair. It's the perfect way to make our Busan trip even more memorable."
Hoseok smiled, pleased with their enthusiasm. "Great! I'll make the arrangements. Get ready for a day filled with fun and laughter."
"But what about Aerin?"
Soojin reminds them of Aerin.
"Yeah, she won't agree."
Jiyeon adds.
Hoseok thinks for a moment before saying,
"Leave it to me."
Both girls were confused but they decided to trust Hoseok.
--------
"Oh come on, it'll be fun," Hoseok pleaded, giving Aerin his best puppy-dog eyes.
Aerin leaned back on the couch, arms crossed and a skeptical look on her face.
"You know I don't like crowds and all that chaos. It's just not my thing."
Hoseok's face fell, disappointment evident in his expression.
"But Aerin, we're all going together. It'll be a great bonding experience. You don't want to miss out on the fun memories we'll create."
Aerin sighed, knowing that Hoseok had a point.
Being part of the group meant participating in activities, even ones that pushed her outside her comfort zone.
"Fine,"
she relented, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
"But only because you're so persistent."
Hoseok's eyes lit up, a triumphant grin spreading across his face. "Yes! You won't regret it, I promise."
Aerin playfully rolled her eyes.
"We'll see about that. Just don't expect me to ride any roller coasters."
Hoseok chuckled, standing up from the couch.
"Deal. Now let's go join the others and make some unforgettable memories."
As the group prepared to head out, Hoseok grabbed a small bag, causing Soojin to raise an eyebrow.
"What's in the bag, Hoseok? Are you planning on sneaking in your own snacks?"
Hoseok chuckled, swinging the bag lightly. "Oh, it's nothing like that. Just my camera. I thought we could capture some great moments together."
Soojin nodded, impressed by his thoughtfulness.
"That's a fantastic idea. We can document our adventure and have something to look back on."
With excitement in the air, they hailed a cab and made their way to the fairground.
------
As they arrived at the fairgrounds, the colorful lights illuminated the night sky, casting a magical glow over the bustling carnival. Soojin's eyes widened with excitement, her voice filled with anticipation.
"Do you see all those rides, Jiyeon? It's like a dream come true!"
Jiyeon chuckled, sharing Soojin's enthusiasm.
"I can't wait to try them all. This is going to be so much fun!"
Without waiting any further they both went to conquer the fair.
Hoseok turned to Aerin with a playful grin, determined to convince her to join in on the festivities.
"Come on, Aerin. Let loose and embrace the joyous atmosphere. It's time for you to experience the thrill of the fair."
Aerin hesitated, eyeing the merry-go-round spinning with cheerful melodies in the background.
"I'm not really a fan of crowded places, Hoseok."
Hoseok's face fell, feigning disappointment. "Oh, Aerin, you hurt me. I thought we were friends, ready to have fun together."
Aerin couldn't help but smile at his playful theatrics.
"Fine, I'll give it a shot. But if I regret this, you owe me a lifetime supply of ice cream."
Hoseok's eyes sparkled with mischief.
"Deal!"
"Now let's go."
He said as he held her hand dragging with himself.
They made their way through the vibrant fairground, the laughter and chatter of visitors filling the air.
The scent of popcorn and cotton candy wafted from every corner, creating a mouthwatering aroma that tempted their senses.
As they continued exploring the fair,
they stumbled upon a serene garden within the fairground.
Aerin's eyes sparkled with appreciation as she took in the vibrant flowers and peaceful ambiance.
Hoseok was drawn to her genuine appreciation for beauty in the simplest of things.
"Isn't this place enchanting?"
Aerin commented, a soft smile gracing her lips.
Hoseok nodded, sharing her sentiment.
"It truly is. You have an incredible eye for beauty, Aerin."
Aerin's cheeks flushed at the compliment, a gesture that didn't go unnoticed by Hoseok.
There was a quiet understanding between them, unspoken words that hinted at a deeper connection.
Lost in the tranquil atmosphere, Hoseok couldn't resist the urge to capture the moment.
He reached for his camera and discreetly snapped a candid picture of Aerin immersed in the beauty of the garden.
"What are you up to, Hoseok?"
Aerin asked, noticing his sudden focus on his camera.
Hoseok grinned mischievously.
"Oh, just capturing a beautiful moment amidst all this beauty. You make a wonderful subject, Aerin."
Aerin's eyes widened in surprise, a hint of a blush adorning her cheeks.
She playfully swatted at Hoseok's arm.
"You're such a smooth talker, Hoseok. But thank you."
Hoseok chuckled, the sound warm and genuine.
"I speak nothing but the truth, Aerin."
They continued their leisurely stroll through the garden, sharing light-hearted conversations and occasional laughter.
In those quiet moments, Hoseok couldn't help but admire Aerin's quiet strength and the way she effortlessly exuded elegance.
They bid farewell to the garden and ventured back into the bustling fair.
As they head back, Hoseok couldn't resist capturing some candid shots of Aerin.
With her back turned, engrossed in examining a colorful game booth, she was completely unaware of the lens that captured her in all her natural beauty.
Hoseok chuckled to himself, satisfied with the impromptu photo session he had managed to sneak in.
-------
Suddenly, Hoseok noticed a shooting game booth and a mischievous idea popped into his mind.
He turned to Aerin with a playful grin.
"Hmm, Aerin, I bet I can beat you in a shooting game. What do you say? Winner gets bragging rights for the rest of the day?"
Hoseok challenged, raising an eyebrow.
Aerin narrowed her eyes, accepting the challenge. "Oh, you're on, Hoseok. But don't be too disappointed when I beat you."
They stepped up to the booth, each taking a toy gun in hand.
The carnival worker explained the rules and the targets they had to hit.
The game started, Aerin displayed impressive precision and accuracy, hitting target after target with ease.
Hoseok, on the other hand, seemed to be struggling, missing more shots than he would like to admit.
Aerin couldn't help but tease him.
"Having a bit of trouble there, Hoseok? Need me to show you how it's done?"
Hoseok shot her a mock glare.
"Just you wait, Aerin. I'm just warming up."
With full determination, Hoseok focused on the targets and began hitting them one by one, catching up to Aerin's score.
In the end, it was a close call, but Aerin emerged as the winner by a narrow margin.
She pumped her fist in the air, a victorious smile on her face.
"I told you I'd beat you, Hoseok,"
Aerin taunted playfully, enjoying her moment of triumph.
Hoseok laughed, accepting defeat.
"Well played, Aerin. I must admit, you've got quite the shooting skills. I'll have to practice harder if I want to beat you next time."
------
"What Soojin and Jiyeon are doing?"
Aerin questions.
"Let's check on them."
"There are they."
Hoseok points at Soojin and Jiyeon coming with hand-in-hand.
Soojin and Jiyeon joined them, their faces flushed with excitement from the thrilling rides they had just experienced.
Soojin clung to a giant stuffed teddy bear she had won from a game booth, giggling uncontrollably.
Hoseok burst into laughter, pointing at Soojin and her newfound companion.
"Soojin, I think you've found your new best friend. That bear might even steal the spotlight from all of us!"
Soojin beamed, hugging the teddy bear tightly. "His name is Mr. Snuggles, and he's the true VIP of this fair!"
Jiyeon couldn't help but chuckle, shaking her head in amusement. "Leave it to Soojin to win over hearts with a stuffed toy."
Hoseok turned to Aerin, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"You see, Aerin? The fair brings unexpected surprises and joy. Perhaps you'll find something extraordinary too."
Aerin raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity tugging at her.
"We'll see about that. But if I end up winning a life-sized dinosaur, I might need your help carrying it home."
Laughter echoed through the air.
------
As the day came to a close, Soojin suggested, "Hey, why don't we take a group photo to commemorate this amazing day?"
Jiyeon enthusiastically agreed, and they started brainstorming different poses. Soojin and Jiyeon joined their hands to create a big heart shape, while Hoseok, caught up in the moment, extended one arm downwards and the other over his head to form a half heart.
He glanced at Aerin, a mischievous glint in his eyes, and playfully gestured for her to complete the heart.
Aerin rolled her eyes, clearly not impressed. "You're such a dork, Hobi."
Hoseok's smile widened, undeterred by her remark.
"Come on, Aerin, don't ruin the picture. Just play along for a moment."
Reluctantly, Aerin sighed and decided to humor him, completing the heart shape with her own hands. Just as the camera shutter clicked, freezing the moment in time, Hoseok's smile grew wider, a look of victory and satisfaction etched on his face.
After capturing the perfect shot, they bid farewell to the fair, carrying with them memories of laughter, exhilarating rides, and delicious treats.
As they walked back, Soojin and Jiyeon chatted animatedly about their favorite moments of the day, while Aerin and Hoseok shared a knowing glance, their unspoken connection evident.
Hoseok couldn't help but feel grateful for this day, for the genuine smiles and bonds that had formed.
