{Episode 6:"Smoke break."}
"We're back!"
Soojin announced, her voice filled with excitement, as she entered the house, her arms overflowing with shopping bags.
With a grin, she dumped the bags in the living room and made a beeline for the kitchen.
"AERINN!" she exclaimed, engulfing her friend in a bear hug.
However, Aerin didn't respond in kind and instead pushed her away slightly.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?"
Soojin asked with concern etched on her face, but Aerin just nodded, still lost in thought.
Jungkook's deep voice interrupted their conversation.
"Hey man, do you have anything to eat?" he asked Hoseok, as he entered the kitchen.
As he caught sight of Soojin, Jungkook's expression turned to one of surprise.
"Aren't you the girl who came to pick Aerin up at the club that day?"
he asked, turning to Aerin.
Sensing the tension in the room, Aerin asked.
"You know him?"
Soojin remained silent, prompting Aerin to speak more sternly, "Soojin."
"You went to the club after an argument with Alex, and then when I came to pick you up, I saw you bickering with this man, but what is he doing here?"
Soojin pointed at Jungkook.
Jungkook snorted.
"She insulted me and then forgot it in three days."
Jiyeon interrupted, "You didn't tell us why you're here."
"He came here for an adventure with his friends but got lost," Hoseok answered for him, which reminded Jungkook of his friends.
He started thinking of ways he could escape Busan safely.
"Adventure? And why you got this place to stay? Are you a stalker?
Planning revenge cuz Aerin insulted you?"
Soojin bombards him with questions.
But Jiyeon pulls her to dinner table.
"Come on, man, eat," Hoseok patted his shoulder, Jungkook just hummed.
As they all sat down to eat, Aerin's mind kept wandering.
She couldn't help but feel like she had seen Jungkook before.
Suddenly, she got up without finishing her food and left.
"Aerin, at least finish the dinner," Hoseok called after her, but she didn't respond.
Instead she went outside to get fresh air.
They continued and let her have space.
-----------------------
"I'll help you with the dishes, Hoseok,"
Soojin said, grabbing plates from the dinner table to bring to the sink.
"I would've helped too, but I'm too tired," Jiyeon interjected with a yawn.
"That's okay. You can head off to bed," Hoseok told her, and she nodded in agreement.
Jungkook wasn't feeling tired anymore, having had a nap earlier, so he decided to step outside to stretch his legs.
As he made his way out, he noticed the faint scent of cigarette smoke in the air.
Following his nose, he spotted Aerin outside, with a cigarette between her fingers, taking long drags.
"Woah... so you smoke?" Jungkook said with a smirk,
trying to strike up a conversation.
Aerin looked at him, nonchalantly blowing smoke from her lips. "Yeah, so what?"
Jungkook didn't let her indifference get to him. "Can I get one?"
he asked, holding his hand out.
Aerin looked a bit shocked at his request but then slid one out from her pack and handed it to him.
Jungkook placed the cigarette between his mouth and signaled for a lighter.
Instead of taking the lighter, he leaned towards Aerin to make her light his cigarette.
Their eyes met briefly, filled with curiosity.
Aerin ignored him at first but then nonchalantly obliged.
Jungkook takes a drag from the cigarette and exhales the smoke, his eyes fixed on Aerin.
"You know, if you're ever in the mood for a good drink, you can call me. I've got the best ones,"
Aerin rolls her eyes at Jungkook's offer. "I can buy my own drinks, thank you,"
she replies, taking another drag from her cigarette.
Jungkook smirks. "I never said I'd pay for them," he clarifies.
"I have some of the best drinks at my place, and I can make them for you. You can tell me which one you like the most."
Aerin gave a small smile, slightly intrigued.
"Okay, sure. What drinks do you have?"
Jungkook named a few expensive alcohol brands, and Aerin's eyes widened. "Those are some expensive drinks. How can you afford all of that?"
Jungkook smirked. "Let's just say, I have my ways."
Aerin raised an eyebrow, sensing that there was more to it, but decided not to push it.
Jungkook then asked for her phone.
Aerin gave him a look but not being in the mood hands her phone to him.
He saved his own number in her phone and called his own phone to save her number.
"You can call me if you ever want to drink or smoke," he said with a smirk.
Aerin just rolled her eyes and said,
"If you lost your phone, then how did you give me your number?"
Jungkook knew he had lied about losing his phone,
but he just shrugs his shoulders and smirks,
"I have my ways, Aerin."
Aerin rolls her eyes and shakes her head, "Whatever, Jungkook. You're such a mystery."
Jungkook takes a step closer to her, his eyes locking with hers,
"That's part of my charm, Aerin. I'm a man of many mysteries."
Aerin can feel her cheeks turning red as Jungkook leans in closer, the smell of his cologne filling her nostrils. She tries to keep her cool and takes a puff of her cigarette, "Yeah, well, you better keep those mysteries to yourself."
Jungkook just chuckles and takes a step back, "Don't worry, Aerin. I won't reveal all of my secrets just yet."
Aerin watches as Jungkook walks back into the house, his confident stride leaving her feeling a mix of annoyance and attraction.
She shakes her head and takes another drag of her cigarette, trying to ignore the flutter in her stomach.
As she finishes her cigarette and flicks it away she also heads to sleep.
------
Once inside, Jungkook slid his phone out of his pocket and looked at the recent call list.
He saw Aerin's number and saved it to his phone.
He then walked to Hoseok's room, where he was staying, and saw that he wasn't there yet. He leaned back on the bed and thought about their conversation.
