Strangely enough,
As I slipped from running after it rained,
And my butt landed hard on the concrete floor,
I was glad it was pain of my own doing.
It left a nasty bruise on my skin,
But this time,
It was my own doing.
It was an area where no one else should touch,
But when they did,
They brought pain,
And took my own skin from me.
So when I bruised and damaged it myself,
I felt a little better.
I didn't cry over this pain,
Because strangely enough,
It was a victory.
A small victory,
That now I no longer have to endure the pain another brings on my own body,
To the parts of me,
That should stay hidden.
Just a concrete floor,
Not his hands.
I am safe.
