Writing a Story: Simple Questions

There are three simple questions you need to ask to get the basics. I know there are people out there who say, "What is it about, what kind of story is it, what will happen, etc." But the way I do it (which I find a lot better) is:

Who is the character?
What do they want more than anything?
And how can I prevent them from getting it?
