Chapter 20-
Vampire car

Sarah and I stand at Ethan's front door, she was here to teach Ethan how to drive, and Benny and I have a movie marathon at his place. 

She rings the doorbell, "Ethan, It's me!" She calls, we hear some muffling until he opens the door, I stand off at the side, "Hey, just the girl I needed to help get my license." He says smiling at Sarah, he then looks at me, "He's inside." He says simply, I smile and nod. 

I'm just gonna wait until they leave. Ethan says some lame pun and I can't help but to laugh "Congrats! I was wondering whose clunker that was outside." Sarah says looking at the car.

I don't like it... First of all it's really rusty and looks really worn out, and I think I saw some animals in there...

"That's not my car." Ethan says, "So it's a little beat up." Sarah starts, "A little?" I mumble, she glares at me and I smile playfully, "No need to be embarrassed." She adds.

"I'm not. That's not my car." He repeats, "You gonna take me for a ride?" Sarah asks, Ethan just stares at her awkwardly and then she laughs and drags him to the car. "Make sure to lock it when you and Benny leave." Ethan says to me, referring to the door.

I nod and the two of them are off, kind of... It's really slow...

I walk into  the house and shut the door, "Benny?" I ask, Benny appears from around the corner with a smile, "Hey." He says walking up to me and kissing me gently, I smile, "So, we off to yours for the movie marathon?" I ask. He nods and intertwines our fingers.

"Yep, just a warning, there will be a few nerdy movies..." He says, "By nerdy you mean Star Wars?" I ask, he smiles apologetically, I laugh, "I love Star Wars, and I'm a mega geek. So I'm fine with watching them, as long as we get to watch at least one of the ghost buster movies." I say.

He smiles, "Alright. Let's go!" He says. We walk out the door and I make sure to lock it before we leave.

We walk over to his house and enter, quickly preparing everything.

"Do you think anyone's gonna blame me for what happened with Malcolm yesterday?" Ethan asks, I look at him awkwardly.

Who wouldn't blame him?

I mean, not everyone in this town is supernatural... Although most probably are...

But as we walk basically everyone jumps to the lockers to avoid getting in the way of Ethan. As we turn the corner we find Erica and Sarah,

"Nice. Yet another reason for girls to avoid you." She says to the boys, Ethan sighs and looks at Sarah, "Sorry about yesterday."
"Relax. Everyone has accidents. That's why there's insurance." Sarah replies.

Am I the only one who actually believes Ethan about the possessed car? I mean I've seen many different creatures and odd things, this isn't that odd... Ok more odd than canima's and banshee's, but y'know...

"But it wasn't me, it was the car. It's possessed or something." He says, Sarah walks away, obviously not believing Ethan, "Oh, right! It's a ghost car!" Erica says, then she mimics a ghost but uses 'vroom' instead of the normal sound.

She then also walks off. I look at Ethan and smile, he already knows I believe him.

"Don't worry, bro. When I first started flying, I rear-ended a 747. Uh! I hate airline food, am I right?" Rory asks, "Dude, this will all blow over. I bet it already has." Benny says.

But obviously the worlds against us and decides to do a cliche thing; have an event go against what a person says.

"You!" Malcolm says from the other side of the room, he has many bandages and crutches. To be honest, I don't get how he's so injured, Ethan hardly hit him. How I know this? Well, Ethan explained that he 'hit him' and then Malcolm ran off.

I know from experience- unless your a healing werewolf- you cant get hit by a car and run off, like no...

"You tried to run me over!" Malcolm says, Ethan starts baking up awkwardly, "I better get my car back by the end of the day or I'm calling the police and I'm gonna have your permit revoked. Revoked!" He yells at Ethan.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed...

Rory takes a big whiff of the air, "Your bandages are leaking." He says, we all stare at him confused and in disgust.

Malcolm awkwardly starts hopping away on his crutches and Rory being Rory, slowly follows him.

"Just give him the car, man" Benny says as we turn around, "I don't have it. The last time I saw it was on his front lawn. Growling." Ethan says, maybe it's a werewolf car.

A werecar? No...

A carwolf? No...

A motor wolf? Nope I give up.

"We need to find it, all right?" Benny says, "No permit means no practise driving with Sarah. And you know, jail time." I add, "Guys!" Ethan says annoyed.

"Okay, dude, relax. We'll find it. We'll make it talk." Benny says as we walk off to think of where if could be.

"There you are!" I exclaim, "You missed class." Benny adds, annoyed. "I ran the cars registration number. Can you believe it was originally designed to be a racer?" Ethan asks, "What." I state confused,

"That clunker? I could beat it on my tricycle." Benny says, I laugh slightly, "Your tricycle has rocket boosters." Ethan says, Benny laughs, "Yeah, you're right. It is a sweet ride."

"Check out this old newspaper. Malcolm's grandfather was Manfred Bruner." Ethan says showing us a newspaper article, "Bruner? As in Bruner automobiles?" I ask, "Yeah. That cars been in a bunch of suspicious accidents- all involving members of his family. Then it just disappeared." Ethan says.

"Wow. Remind me never to be related to Malcolm Bruner." Benny says, I smile at his comment, "this totally shows that there's something going on with that car." Ethan says, "How?" Benny asks, I raise an eyebrow at my boyfriend, "Suspicious accidents? I bet that car was possessed back then too." I say, siding with Ethan.

"This is my get out of jail free card. We gotta spread the word." Ethan says, he starts picking up his stuff, I raise an eyebrow, who would ever believe that?

"Word-spreading. Okay!" Benny says, then someone's phone starts ringing, Ethan answers his phone with a 'Hey Rory, what's up?' I start helping the boy's gather the papers.

"What? No!" Ethan says.

Silence.

And then some yelling.

"Well... At least now we know where the car is." Ethan says hanging up. "Dude, the Beatles are coming to town! We gotta go!" Benny says, I laugh and finish collecting the piles of paper.

We walk out heading towards the car, but not without a few scared glances. As I lay my eyes on the car I almost choke, it did NOT look like that before...

"Whoa. Creepy car makeover." Benny takes the words out of my mouth, "I don't get it! This car has been in two accidents since I found it and it looks better than ever." Ethan says, "Maybe one more will get heated seats!" I say earning a laugh and high five from Benny.

"Wow, looking good." Sarah says as the female vampire duo appear, "Mmm, smelling good too." Erica says, Rory sniffs the air, "I smell blood! Dibs!" Rory exclaims, I raise an eyebrow looking at the vampire.

Rory starts sniffing along the car until he reaches the front, he opens the bonnet and we look in it, "Cool! Free lucky squirrel tail!" Rory cheers grabbing it, "Yeah, Malcolm did say there was a squirrel's nest in there." Ethan informs.

"Whoa. The engine is filled with blood." Benny says picking up some sharp thingy, "I did not see that one coming." He adds, putting the sharp thing back.

"Blood? Like squirrel blood?" Ethan asks, I sniff the engine, as the metallic smell fills my nose, "No, it's human. Definitely human." I say, "With a hint of squirrel." Rory adds, gaining a laugh from me.

"A possessed car that runs on blood? That's it, I'm pulling the plug right now." Ethan says, leaning toward the engine, but being caught in a trance, and then the engine zaps him, he jumps back, along with us, and slams the bonnet closed.

"I think this cars possessed by a vampire." He states, "It just bit me." He adds looking at his hand. I scan the wound, "Are you in pain?" I ask, he nods slightly, "Yeah...  A little..." He replies, I smile and place his hand in mine, I remove some of his pain and his once tensed body relaxes, "Better?" I ask pulling my hand away, "Yeah! Thanks!" He says smiling and I smile back.

"Oh, so you're hungry jalopy face? Well how about a knuckle sandwich?" Rory says punching the hood of the car, but it immediately heals. "It feeds like a vampire. It regenerates like a vampire." Sarah says annoyed, "We'll just have to tell everyone it's a vampire car. You won't get blamed for anything! By reason of insanity." Benny says sarcastically, but his comments does make me laugh a little.

"I'm not worried about me anymore. We have to stop this car before it hurts anyone else." Ethan says, then the bell rings. "Later." Benny says, earning a 'what' look from Ethan, "You don't want both prison AND detention." Benny says, Ethan huffs and follows his friend, "See you guys later." I say waving goodbye to the others and head to my class.
