Yasu left the Four Seasons Teahouse by midafternoon.  He made his way back to his courtyard and sat in the pavilion.  A hot cup of tea sat cooling to the side as a chessboard covered the rest of the table.  Yasu set the white and black pieces one by one.  

“Kei told me that Gin is on his way to Hima.”  A deep voice said behind Yasu.  

“Hmm.”  Yasu hummed in agreement as he set the last white piece down, claiming the surrounding black pieces and winning the game.  “Something important must have come up for him to personally come to Hima.  Otherwise he would have stayed in Nijo and guarded central operations without fail.”  

Ren sat down across from Yasu and poured himself a cup of tea.  Although it was no longer hot, it still held some warmth to it.  

“Coming to Hima is reckless.”  Ren told Yasu.  “Although Ken can hold down central operations by himself, having four eyes instead of two is better.”  

“I agree.  However I know Gin.  He wouldn’t have come here if it wasn’t important.  It must be something that he couldn’t convey on paper or pass on the message to someone else.  The information he had might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.” 

Ren grunted back, but his lips held a teasing smile.  The teasing smile held knowledge of Yasu’s peeping.  

“Why are you smiling like that at me?”  Yasu asked nervously.  His heart beated wildly.    

“Just happy to see you and spend time with you.”  Ren answered.  However his smile became more sly.  

“Is that all?”  

“Of course.  Why else would I smile at you for, hmmm?” 

Yasu looked away and felt his cheeks grow hot.  Thoughts quickly flashed back to the hot scene he witnessed that morning.  

‘I… I don’t know… that’s why I asked you.”  Yasu stuttered 

“You left so early today, I was saddened that I couldn’t see you before I left to go to the barracks.”  Ren confessed.  “I know Shiro also misses you.” 

Yasu figitted in his seat. He looked everywhere except at the man who was making him nervous and excited.  

“I… I had a lot of things to do in the morning… so I left early.”  Yasu told him.  

“Really?  Since you’ve come back we’ve only seen you a handful of times.  And usually it is us who seeks you out.  It seems as if we care more about you than you care about us.”  

“No!”  Yasu quickly shouted.  “No… that’s not it…” 

“It’s not?”  

“No…”  Yasu adjusted his voice before continuing.  “I’m just impatient about establishing a intelligence base here.  As well as not being about to get a handle on my enemies.  My greed for revenge is ruining my patience, so I might ignore those around me.  It wasn’t my intention, sorry.”   

“Since it wasn’t your intention to ignore us, then you should spend more time with us.  Don’t you agree?”  Ren asked.  His sly smile deepened, making him look as if his words were innocent, however it held a sinister meaning.  

“You’re correct.  However…”  

“There’s no however…”  Ren told him.  “Everything you plan will go as follows.  You have several talented subordinates working for you.  Let them do their job and stop micromanaging them.  Instead you should take some time to spend time with us so we can distract you for a while.  A heavy heart and mind can cloud your way.”  

Ren reached out and held Yasu’s hand that rested on the table.  Yasu looked at the large and calloused hand that rested on top of his.  Ren’s hand felt so warm against his.  All the loud noises that were buzzing around his ears became quiet.  All the doubts disappeared in his mind.  The impatience that held a tight hold around his heart, loosened. 

Yasu’s lips parted to let his tongue lick his lips.  That one moment caused Ren to lose his control.  His hand pulls Yasu’s hand towards him, making him lean forward.  Ren leaned over the table, shaking it, causing the white and black pieces to fall to the ground.  

Their lips touched lightly at first, but soon Ren’s kiss began to dominate Yasu’s lips.  He pushed his tongue inside and explored Yasu’s mouth. He had waited a long time to do this, he couldn’t hold back any longer.  He had once thought that he had lost Yasu forever, how could he lose him a second time.   No, Yasu had enchanted him from the first moment he saw Yasu.  And with every moment he spent with Yasu, he knew, from the very fiber of his being, that Yasu was his destiny.

Yasu captured his lips one more time before breaking away.  He didn’t want them to hurt anymore because of him.  Since they gave so much of themselves to him, he could only give as much of himself back to them.  

“Then do it.”  Yasu whispered into Ren’s ear before biting it.
