That night Yasu selfishly let Shiro and Ren share the same bed with him.  They did nothing, but held each other to sleep. The three of them slept deeply and peacefully.

By the time Ren and Shiro woke up, the man that they held tightly between them was already gone.  Somehow Yasu was able to get out of bed without the two of them waking up.

They went to their shared room next door and got ready for the day.  By the time they went downstairs, the table was set with only two sets of bowls and chopsticks in the dining room.

“Where is Young Master Yasu?”  Ren asked the servant who stood next to the table.

“Young Master Yasu left early this morning.  He said he wouldn’t be able to break his fast with Doctor Shiro and General Ren this morning and ask that you guys eat without him.  He has several businesses to take care of and doesn’t know when he’ll be back.”

Ren dismissed the servants with a flick of his hand.  Once alone, he hugged Shiro who held his head down low.

“I ruined it for us didn’t I?”  Shiro mumbled into Ren’s shoulder.  “I was too greedy and made my move towards Yasu and scared him away, didn’t I?”

“Shhh.  You didn’t do anything wrong.  It’s not your fault.” Ren said as he held onto Shiro tighter.  “You’re thinking too much. It’s better to tell Yasu our intentions from the beginning.  Then it’ll give Yasu more time to prepare himself and slowly accept us in his life.”

“But what if that man, Gin, won’t accept us?  If he doesn’t accept us, then Yasu won’t accept us.  No matter if he does have feelings for us.” Shiro whispered into Ren’s ear.

“Don’t worry about Gin.”  Ren told Shiro. “He’ll come to accept us.  I won’t give him a chance to say no to us.”

“Really?”  Shiro asked.

“Hmm.”  Ren hummed.  “Once I want something, nothing can escape from me.”

Shiro nodded his head silently.  He knew what great lengths Ren would go to, to get what he wanted.  He too was selfish too, to let Ren use all his influence and power to get what he wanted as well.  Thankfully what they both wanted was Yasu.

After breakfast, they left a message for Yasu before leaving the house to go to work.  While Ren went to work to deal with the security of the city, Shiro went to restock the medical supplies in the army infirmary and help out the other army doctors.

Yasu left the house before the sun could brighten the day.  He changed his clothes in the darkness and when he left his room, he creeped out with his shoes in his hand like a thief.  After he left the house, he met up with his father’s loyal soldiers.

Yasu had split the soldiers up into four different groups to live in the four different districts within the city.  Their mission yesterday was to first gather information on their district and establish a business within it. Yasu would meet each team leader at the Four Seasons Teahouse, which Shiro had established long ago.

After meeting the four team leaders, Shiro sat alone in the Teahouse enjoying his early lunch.  He had skipped breakfast and had been drinking tea the whole morning. Now that his meetings were done, he could finally sit down and eat.

The food at Four Seasons Teahouse was to his liking, so he ate a bit more.  His thoughts were lost in the memories of yesterday. Could he really accept Shiro and Ren into his life?  Was he so weak willed that he’ll go against his conviction?

Yasu sighed heavily as he ate.  Now the food tasted plain, but he still ate as if they were to his liking.  Yasu placed the chopsticks back down and leaned back in his chair.

He didn’t know what he wanted.  His heart wanted it all, while his mind still carried on the emotional and traumatic baggage from his first life.  He needed time to consider his next steps in his romantic life, otherwise he’ll only hurt everyone he cared about in the end.
