Chapter Three:

Vio's POV:

I stared out at the ocean. If you're wondering why I was there, it's because after Zelda explained to us that we were basically only alive was to protect citizens that didn't even believe in us anymore. I just left the Town Hall and walked to this place they called the boardwalk.

Sighing, I pulled out a shard of the mirror that Shadow destroyed to save us. I smiled sadly as I remembered his handsome face and mischievous smile. Soon after Shadow disappeared I made the mirror shard into a necklace that I always wore, and once I returned to the body of Link it disappeared with me... No one would find it unless I was summoned again... but guess what? I'm here...

Tears slid down my cheeks and onto the shard, creating tiny puddles. I sniffled and clutched the shard to my chest in a desperate attempt to be closer to him.

"Violet..."

I blinked and looked up. "Sh...Shadow?" I whispered. I laughed bitterly to myself, realizing it was probably my imagination.

"Violet...!"

There it was again... but this time... It sounded close. I stood up and turned around. "Who's there?!" I yelled into the darkness of the night.

"Violet...!!!!"

A gasp. That was the only thing I could do. There he was... standing down the beach, staring up at me with those red, red eyes. "Sha...Shadow..." I breathed. He smiled at me and I started running. My feet smacked against the sand as I ran closer and closer to him. Tears streamed down my cheeks and I jumped into his arms, wrapping my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist.

He chuckled and held me close. "I didn't realize you were such a baby..." He teased half heartedly.

Shadow's POV:

Fuck..! It was bright as hell. I shielded my eyes from the bright sun that stupid humans use as warmth. Though.... this did not look like Hyrule or Lorule.

Groaning, I stood up and wandered around the streets. People kept staring at me because of my tunic. Jeez, haven't they seen fashion before? Half of the girls here are barely wearing a thing.

I ran to an alley and waited there until the sun started to go down, I'm surprised I'm not dead from being in the sun for so long. I wonder what happened to me. I sighed as I thought back to a certain boy with purple clothes and a girly name that he only allowed me to call him by.

Was he in this weird world with me?

I wandered around the streets as the sun went down. I heard the ocean and got a little excited. I always wanted to see one. So I asked this random vendor how to get to the beach and he pointed to a small wooden entrance, stating if I kept along the beach I could find the boardwalk too. Who cares?

So there I was trudging through the sand. Vio would love this.. He always had a thing for pretty scenery and calming things. Then I noticed something. A blonde person up ahead crying softly. How coincidental. I was JUST thinking about him and there he was, but he was crying. I noticed the shard of the mirror and sighed softly.

"Violet..." I murmured.

Vio looked up and looked around. "Sh...Shadow?" He asked before he let out a bitter laugh.

I frowned. "Violet...!" I called to him.

He stood up and had a heartbroken expression on his beautiful face. "Who's there?!" He yelled out to me.

Jeez. Could he not see me? "Violet...!!!!" I basically screamed.

He looked towards me and he gasped, finally. "Sha...Shadow..." He breathed before he started running at me, tears pouring out of his eyes.

I smiled softly before catching him in my arms and placing my hands under his bottom to hold him up as he cried into my shoulder. "I didn't realize you were such a baby..." I teased him lowly.

He held me tighter and I slowly sat down with him in my lap. He let out a couple hiccups before wiping his eyes on my hat. Thanks babe... "How are y..you here?" He asked with a whisper in his voice.

"Uhm... I dunno. I kinda just woke up and complained because it was so bright out." I said to him.

He bit his lip before nodding. "Okay then..." He gently hugged me again. "I am so sorry...." He whimpered.

I smiled solemnly. "Hey, hey. Don't be sorry. I understand why you did it. You wanted to protect everyone, after all, I'm only a shadow." I assured.

"You're not... You're not just as shadow to me..." He had a slightly red face.

"Oh yeah. I know. You basically proclaim your love to the mirror shard all the time." I said to him with a chuckle.

He flushed a bright red. "You heard me?! How?!" He screeched.

I cradled his face in my hands and smiled at him. "It's a connected to my world, even if I couldn't travel through, I could still hear and see you... You were always crying when you looked at the shard. I always wondered why you even kept the thing if it brought you so much heartbreak." I murmured.

He shook his head. "It wasn't the shard... It was the memory of you... I felt so broken... so empty..." He explained.

"Ah. I see." I smirked. "So, do we kiss?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes before smiling softly. "If you want...." He said before I closed the distance between us.
