Four Little Gray Mice
In an old, abandoned, barn, just outside of Paris, France, there were resident four little gray mice, by the names of, Mina, Deanna, Freddie, and Eddie. Mina and Deanna were the twins, even though they didn't act like it. Freddie and Eddie were the little brothers. Deanna, the oldest twin, then her sister, Mina, then Freddie, who was two years older than Eddie.
One day, Freddie and Eddie (the trouble-makers that they were) went to go tease the old barn cat without Mina and Deanna knowing. Once they were gone and safely out of the house, they went to the back of the barn where the old tom cat usually spent his long, lonely, lazy, days. Now this cat has a story of his own, back in his prime, he was the Ultimate Champion Mouse Hunter, and he still had a few tricks up his sleeve, even though he was now pudgy and old. Freddie went on one side of the old tom, while Eddie went to the other. Then on the count of 3...2...1... they started tickling the old cat, but to there extreme surprise, it wasn't the tom! It was a young gray female! She caught them and put them in a cage until the pot was boiling hot. While she put in vegetables and assorted flavorings, she sang a creepy tune.
"Mice, Meese, Mouse
I'm gonna eat you up,
add some pickles
to the roast,
and light the fire blue
Mice, Meese, Mouse
"Mice, Meese, Mouse
Make sure you have many
now don't you fret
'cause I'm gonna
cook you some
Mice, Meese, Mouse"
Now the boys were terrified, and screamed and squeaked for help.
Meanwhile, back at the house, it was dinner time. Deanna and Mina had just heard all the commotion outside. So they called and searched the house and realized the boys were gone! So they decided that they would go to the back of the barn. When they got there, they saw nothing unusual. . . except a giant cooking pot! . . . And OH NO! There brothers in a cage! They were yelling something, what were they saying? Warning us of something? Then.. BAM! And all was black.
* * *
When they awoke they found themselves trapped in a four part cage where each of them was in a different section. The pot was almost boiling, so they devised a plan.
* * *
The pot was boiling, the ingrediants, ready, the mice, terrified and ready for boiling. The plan started.
Deanna asked in the most polite and sweetest voice she could make, " May I please go home to write a letter to my friends and family?"
"Why, little mouse, are you trying to trick me so you and your siblings can get away?" said the cat.
She replied, "No, I just want to say my last goodbyes."
"Then you may go and say these last goodbyes"
Deanna ran as soon as the cat put her down. She went home and hastily scribbled 40 pages of words. Then she returned and started to read, aloud.
While the cat listened, she began to cry, and cry, and cry. The cat, now distracted, did not notice the other three mice trying to climb out of their cage. When all were free, Deanna started to sing a very sad song and the young cat fell asleep.
Then they all scurried as fast as they could to their house, packed their things, and moved to the city. Where (for what else could they do?) they lived happily ever after . . . MEEEOOOWWW!
Um, I think.
The End :)
The Moral Of the Story is... if you are a little gray mouse, be wary of young cats.
