Chapter 5: A call from the void

Jimin stopped, looking at the jacket and recalling the first day Jungkook started to tease him. It was an absolute nightmare and Jimin despised looking back at the pain. Jungkook was very tough that he would shove Jimin onto the floor and that was how for he'd go. Mock his high voice and tease him for loving the art of ballet. Ever since then, Jimin stopped pursuing after dance and started to go after something he loved most. Discovering creatures that dwelled the ocean floors. Biology was what Jimin wanted.

Even choosing such a smart and intelligent career, Jungkook never let him live. He teased Jimin for his glasses and with one thing, it lead to another. Once Jimin graduated, he had never seen Jungkook ever again up until now. Jimin thought of Jungkook's apology and let out a small scoff as he looked at the jacket again.

"Why am I hugging his jacket...? He means nothing but an assistant to me. Just an intern." Jimin said and slowly hugged the jacket again. "But... I've always despised him. Maybe he did grow up. Yes he mocked me today but it could be that he just missed doing things to me like that. It's not my fault I got angry that he wanted to look back on those days. Well? He can't be perfect." Jimin thought as he turned on the laundry machine and set the jacket into the machine and started to spread the laundry detergent while the water filled inside.

Memories of back then began to float in Jimin's head and he couldn't help to think about it. Just looking at the style of jacket Jungkook used was just like before when they were rivals back then in high school.

Flashback

Jimin collected his items after class as most of his classmates started to clean up the classroom after the teacher left which was part of their routine. Jimin stood up and placed his backpack on and fixed his rectangular glasses just sitting above his nose. He walked out of the classroom, knowing most students were already getting the class cleaned. Nothing was left for him.

As he walked down the hall, distant laughing and chatter was in the distance as he held his books close and made his way to the bathroom when, he came across Jungkook. The boy was just standing in front of the mirror and looking at himself. He wore the usual uniform for the school that consisted of a white short sleeved shirt, blue tie, Grey slacks and white indoor shoes. But of course, Jungkook would always use a black jacket wrapped around his waist behind the teacher's back.

Jimin almost hesitated to step in, but the older only let out a sigh and stepped in any way. Jimin's heart began to pound as he walked into one of the bathroom stalls silently as he feared Jungkook would just barge in and give him the normal and usual creepy smile. Thinking of many things to do to him. Jimin used the toilet like a urinal. Not wanting to use the ones outside of the stall because Jungkook was right there. Jimin just didn't know what Jungkook was capable of alone with Jimin in the bathroom.

Jimin then stepped out and set his book down on the floor as he walked up to as sink away from Jungkook. Hoping that the younger wouldn't say a thing. But of course, he couldn't keep his mouth shut. Jungkook turned his head and placed his hands on his hips with a smile on his face.

"You did realize there are urinals here... Right?" Jungkook chuckled as Jimin silently nodded. "Oh I see... You just don't want me to see it, hm? You did realize if you pull something off like that and avoid using the urinals in public, some will believe you're secretly a girl." Jungkook advised and stepped in closer to Jimin. "I'm not trying to harm you. Just trying to let you in on a little something."

"I-I just came to use the bathroom in peace..." Jimin whispered as Jungkook chuckled and placed his arm around Jimin with a smile.

"Don't worry Jimin~" Jungkook whispered and pulled a smirk. "I only embarrass you in front of everyone. But if we are alone, who will I prove that I completely dominate? Such a shame... the younger is more manlier than the older. I only do this to toughen you up..." Jungkook said and suddenly, a few students walked in to see Jungkook instantly grabbing Jimin's glasses. "Isn't that right, 'Four eyes'?"

Right on time, Jungkook suddenly slipped into character and backed up holding Jimin's glasses up with a chuckle. "Why can't you reach them? Hm? Maybe you're too short~ do one of your ballet dances to jump and reach them, Pretty boy. I could bring you a cute tutu so it could match."

          "J-Jungkook!  Y-You know I can't see well without those!"

"Then be a man and grab them." Jungkook added as Jimin reached for it but Jungkook kept stepping back and this was enough to make the boys around them laugh at Jimin's size and weak attempt to grab them.

"HEY! YOU BOYS LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Shouted a girl outside the boys bathroom. Watching this happen since the door was kept open.

"STAY OUT OF THIS, YUN-SE!" shouted a boy as Jimin recognized the voice and looked at the direction of the girl with a relieved smile. Seeing blur but he was able to see her figure standing by the door like a hero in his eyes. That's when Jungkook looked at the girl and Jimin. Realizing their connection as he quickly broke Jimin's glasses and dropped them onto the floor.

This made Jimin bring his attention to Jungkook and his eyes widened at just hearing the glasses snap as Jungkook looked at the older in such a jealousy gaze. "Oops.. I think I must have dropped them." Jungkook added as he stepped over them and walked out of the boys bathroom as Yun-se shoved Jungkook. Hearing the boy laugh as he ran off. Leaving Jimin on the bathroom floor to pick up his glasses silently.

Jimin set the jacket to wash as he looked back at that day. This made Jimin let out a sigh and wish he could be able to see clearly so he could look up at Jungkook's face through it all, did he still hold that smug look on his face or did he just stand there with a look of anger through it all. Jimin knew Jungkook only mocked him in front of a crowd. But was that really necessary to prove his dominance? Jimin already caught the gist of Jungkook wanting to prove how stronger and better he was... But he just wouldn't stop.

Jimin soon placed the jacket to dry and pressed the jacket so no wrinkles could be seen. The man then walked into the room to fall asleep before he changed into his sleep attire. Jimin wore his usual long T-shirt and loose plaid pajama bottoms to rest as he sat on the edge of the bed in silence. Thinking back at the memory that floated in his head from high school. Jimin layed down and took off his glasses, staying awake and thinking to himself.

"What if... Jungkook had feelings for me back then?" Jimin thought. "Some people pick on others if they like them... Maybe that's what it was all along." Jimin thought. This was the only thing on his mind, not realizing that Yun-se woke up.

"Jimin... Turn off the lamp.." Yun-se added as Jimin let out a chuckle and turned off the lamp to lay back down. Yun-se then turned over to sleep as Jimin faced his wife. The woman opened her eyes again and let out an exhale. "How was your day? Surely it wasn't as bad as mine.."

"Somewhat okay? Ah, Today we were partnered up with interns and I was teamed up with... Jungkook.." Jimin said as Yun-se raised a brow.

"Jungkook... Jeon Jungkook? I haven't heard that name in years..." Yun-se added as she sat up to see a stray jacket just hanging on a clothes hanger. This confused the wife as she looked back at Jimin. "He's... Not here is he?"

"No! I gave him a ride home-"

"Didn't he use to bully you a long time ago?"

"Well... He seems different now. I felt bad I was treating him like he was an idiot who was clueless to all of the work. Jungkook was walking home in the rain so I decided to take him home. But he left his jacket in my car."

"So you... Washed it, dried it and pressed it? So much for giving him a piece of your mind. He made your high school days like hell... Is it fair to treat him like nothing happened before?" Yun-se wondered as Jimin laughed and patted his wife's head.

"That's exactly what I thought. But I realized we should at least get along. We are a team now." Jimin then sighed as he looked at the jacket. "He only mocked me and bothered me the first minute but I'm glad he stopped."

"Who knows? Maybe he might like you." Yun-se giggled as she looked at Jimin again. "Just kidding. You're mine." The woman added as she layed back on the bed to sleep as Jimin blinked his eyes and looked at the ceiling. "Hey... Jimin you know I was joking about that. Right?" Yun-se added as Jimin nodded.

"Oh, I was just thinking." Jimin assured and placed his hand over Yun-se's face and laughed "Go to sleep."

Yun-se then bit Jimin's hand softly, enough to make the man pull his hand away quickly followed by his wife's giggles. "I'm going to sleep. Don't stay up too long." Yun-se advised as she turned around to face the opposite direction of the room, away from Jimin as the man just looked up at the ceiling and back at the jacket.

"What if he did like me..?" Jimin thought as he looked at the jacket. But then, Jimin shook his head and looked at the ring on his finger. "That's stupid.. I'm married to the one I love... How could I love a guy like him? How could I even like a guy?" Jimin rolled his eyes and thought this whole situation was stupid. He was sick of hearing the call from the void from his deepest thoughts.

Jimin then looked at Yun-se sleeping and facing away as Jimin looked down at his engagement ring. "It's just a thought... Just a stupid thought..." Jimin whispered to himself as he took off his engagement ring and held it up to look at it. Almost like he questioned it.
